I was chatting to West Bentleigh's President last night who is very confident of a revival at Patterson Road. Anthony Reid, Stacy Brown (plus friends), along with the McKinnon names of Tim Dale & Daniel Streker have apparently already received their "consideration" for next season. You can lock it in accoring to him.

I wish them luck in trying to persuade Streker and Dale down to Victory Park.
Both had agreed to join Omega this season, but for them to do a complete turnaround and sign up with McKinnon after we'd helped them off field with employment and living arrangements.

Spoke to some of the Victory Park during the week and sounds like they are certainly intent on getting things back on track with A.Reid and Brown back in the mix for next season. Haven't heard of Dale or Streker...checked out their stats on mycricket and Dale certainly looks like a great addition to their senior side, with Streker being a handy addition to help make up the numbers in their lower grades. Fingers crossed they all get over the line for West Bentleigh.

Quite correct Burger. Still great to watch it run though. OB, salient lesson. Never do anything unless they have signed on the dotted line. It must be annoying McKinnon no end that Bentleigh has managed to reach the Grand Final in their first year back in the senior division in the VTCA. Seems like they may even go back to back which is a remarkable effort in a very tough competition. If the Cowboys keep relying on imports their days and what is left of their bank balance will be numbered. Ano sounds like a great clubman. Did he make an appearance on the night or was it subject to an appearance fee, or were all present beneath him?

In any event, 2010/2011 has seen a changing of the guard with 10 changes from the previous season.

Rumour has it that Jimmy made a few little errors while being the MC.Could it have been the water he was drinking??? It is very unusual for Jimmy, he is usually spot on as the main man. Maybe he succumbed to nerves!!!!

Never fear Billy, always save a couple of little errors to ensure a) people are paying attention and not talking over proceedings (as some do) and to b)prrovide a little levity!!. But, as always preparation is the key, might have been a bit "light on" for prep time this year mate. Will try harder.

West Bentliegh's Pres is a spud. He thinks everyone is going down to Victory Park next season. Dale & Strekker won't leave McKinnon.

As previously stated as long as I stay inside the rules and if you paid attention or maybe it was on one of your self imposed bans where you talk to some with an identity eg Timepiece, but then ark up just because you will never know who Merl is and despite your great weekend detective work you are still no closer but let me assure you there will be some ground breaking news next week that may get you back on the blood hound trail.At the request of the huge audience that cannot stop talking about Merl you included, I have made a genuine attempt to be more positive but a clear example which I have pointed out several times is the listing of the 2nd semi final winners first even if they finished second which can only be confusing to Joe Public.Merl has been in the trenches and knows how to operate and I know most things but certainly not all.

At the end of the day it is a forum where anyone can express their views something I have time,energy and anominity to do.

& Bottsy I'm not counting that decision in the 'flood relief' game on LD im sure that was in jest, & it worked out well as he entertained the crowd with some big hits after his life..

Tips for GF's
Longy - HOOPS - showed enough last time these sides met to have the boys from centenary worried, the all important toss of the coin will go along way in deciding the match. The champ will enjoy the bowling green, and junior is due for big one. The untiing boys haven't had to chase all year, so if the hoops get 200-220 game on. Hopefully JWC will take out his agression on the opposition instead of his own teammates in the darkness of the nets.
Wooly - The Heighters - Have surprised a few and are pumped to complete the fairytale, Lochy will keep them on their toes and score heavily.
JQ - Uniting - These boys do not want to be the one's who let down the gravy train, they will also want to prove some selectors wrong.
D Grade - Ommies - The hoops were down and out last week and are very lucky to be in the big one. Ommies stiched them up last time and will do so again.
E Grade - Uniting - Again, they do not want to be the one's who fall off at the death, free beer for all is too much of an incentive.
F Grade - Ommies - The blue boys have momentum, if they can bat better then its all over, their bowlers are on fire.
G Grade - Uniting - Free Beer, enough said.
H Grade - Washups - an empty cupboard for the gold caps, it doesn't get any better than that.
