Re: CMCA- Ommies to remain in top grade

Squeak did make 900 the year before in Walnut, so think he has a few more credits than Backman there Pup!!

Re: CMCA- Ommies to remain in top grade

I guess it's how you handle adversity that defines your true character, and allows you to work on being a better person.

Good luck!

Re: CMCA- Ommies to remain in top grade

It can be handled with patience. Unless there's some fast-tracking in the development of the kids (which there were plenty of), there'll be some lean years ahead. Of course, this all depends on the quality of opposition. That opinion is based on the DDCA being on par with Longmuir. Future should be bright though. Very young group with a couple of kids that will come on with a bit of size and experience.

I nearly fell off my chair when he took hold of the aggot and gave the umpire his hat!

Yes i did take the ball for 5 overs and was servicable, we have a heap of kids that will probably play seconds and develop.
The first 5 guys who batted will play 1stXI
We had our opening bat who opens the bowling missing named Liam.
We had our Opening quick who bats at 7 inj who was there and watched named Rick.
We have our English import who plays with us every year and finished 3rd in comp bowling named Paul who arrives this week.
we also had our middle order bat missing named Joash.
And our youngest and best talent who is a massive interest at district level at 18 is working hard on his VCE and should be right after XMAS.
We also had our potential CMCA recruit who will bat at 5-6 at a football GF.
And we had a former VTCA Captain Coach away.
So the kids were played to give them opportunitys, i would hope next week in our 2nd practice match we would have another 6 1stXI players play.
So i don't think we can read to much into yesterday mate especially my knock it was good to middle some but thats all i took out of it personally.
But i was rapt with the young kids ability to stick to our pre match goals and stratergys, and there endeavour was fantastic.

Re: CMCA- Ommies to remain in top grade

Surely this should be on another thread... not the CMCA related one, because quite honestly, I don't really give a rats.

Re: CMCA- Ommies to remain in top grade

Brett - it's not necessary to come on here and justify a DDCA side. I wouldn't think anyone has any interest in the club. Some may be interested to see how you go for comparative reasons, but honestly bud, give it a rest.
My opinion was purely based on what I saw and the top 5 bats (your apparent 1st XI players) would all struggle to make an impact in Woolnough Shield. No need to take an opinion so personally, champ. It's simply that..... a matter of opinion.

All the best in your first season and good luck with the new club. Thanks again for the hit out on the weekend. Much appreciated.

Re: CMCA- Ommies to remain in top grade

First time poster and have had a quick read over everyone's thoughts and tips of the year season ahead. Let it be know that we'll be up there for sure. Liam will play at least half the season including the pointy end so watch out if we're still in it come finals time. Briggsy will be all good after his footy trip and Dermott is coming off a knee reco but should be right mid-November to bat and sit in the slips. We've got a good mix of experience and youth coming through and i'd expect us to finish in the top 4. My top 4 are;
East Sandy
Union
Us
Uniting
ANA
Centrals
The rest

Re: CMCA- Ommies to remain in top grade

Interesting post there, "Victory". Can't see why Briggsy's footy trip last weekend would even need any mention. Even moreso given the fact he didn't go.....

Re: CMCA- Ommies to remain in top grade

yeah probably not the ideal place to be discussing non cmca stuff but it rates better than the crap in the leader news every week in summer. had a look at the ana cricket show and credit where credit is due sug and phil, not a bad effort at all for a first up, looking forward to the next episode. 10 sleeps to go !!

R1 tips
ana v BUCC - Union could make 400+ at the george and should defend it comfortably
hccc v WB - WB to unearth a couple of quality younger players and win
BUCC v esbcc - duncan street hangover to last at least a round or 2
ELWOOD v le page - ANO v squeak, the woods to prevail
OMEGA v carn sth - should be a nice start for clint and the kids
wp v MACKIE - the machine unless wp have injected another $75K into the lineup

Re: CMCA- Ommies to remain in top grade

Where'd the Shark Park lad spring from? Having a laugh if he thinks the Machine aren't in the top 6 sides. We'll have to teach the kid some respect in round one.

Re: CMCA- Ommies to remain in top grade

Must be on the Wireless Internet of Melbourne Uni, the scholarship they forked out to have him play cricket there for the year

Re: CMCA- Ommies to remain in top grade

Whatever buddy. I've been a Shark since Under 12's.
Go eat another pie Buddha you fat heap of cr@p. Me and my team will teach you fat boys a lesson in Round 1. The Iceman's gonna melt!
Good time to be down at the velodrome this year!!!

Re: CMCA- Ommies to remain in top grade

Unless you have picked up a couple of bowlers this year I suspect you are going to be chasing some big scores for most of the season. No disrespect to Sugar, but he really should have gone on with it last year when he opened the batting against Dollar Park. I think he got a bit excited at the calibre of bowling he was facing.Any chance that you may actually spend some of the millions you have on the ground like fixing that dodgy pitch???

Re: CMCA- Ommies to remain in top grade

ANA Hater - guess what, only one more sleep to go as Phil and I will be recording episode 2 of the ANA Cricket Show tomorrow morning, and should have it posted around lunch time tomorrow.

Jamster - yes I should have gone on with it opening against Washups, and blew a golden opportunity which I will regret for a very long time.

Go easy Jamster. Sugar was just happy to last more than one ball after having nightmares all week from the game before.

Re: CMCA- Ommies to remain in top grade

Gents,
Firstly I will apologise for my fellow Sharkers failure to properly articulate his beliefs at 3.00am this morning. Re the Sharks, this might be the year to look a little more seriously at the boys from Packer. With the clubs 80th birthday being celebrated this year, a number of favourite sons are set to return in a full time capacity after years of cameos. The batting line up has 8 players that have big Longmuir scores (minimum 99) under their belts in the last few years, including individuals with highest scores of 180, 170, 140, 130, plus Pickers who is yet to get to 3 figures but is obviously capable. In the majority of occasions oppositions will have to make some big scores to take the points! Good news for everyone is that the deck has been pulled up and should now play pretty true. A great fielding line up could see a return to the old Omega game plan of trying to suphocate teams and score big!!

Looking forward to a competitive year and hopefully influencing the March outcomes... Good luck to all.
