Sorry Sugar. Cheap shot!

Sufferer - change your personal settings and I think you'll find your mate velodrome posted late in the afternoon (6:57pm).

Re: CMCA- Ommies to remain in top grade

Yeah certainly not getting on bigcricket at 3 in the morning. Got better things to do. Either way it's gonna be a big year down at the velodrome as my fellow Shark, Sufferer, has just told us about. We'll certainly be batting deep this year, well into March.

Re: CMCA- Ommies to remain in top grade

Yes I saw that performance and it wasn't one of the better ones. We've all been there at some stage. But to give the great man some credit I thought he had a pretty good year last with bat and ball.Surprised a lot of people as many within the club thought he was destined to fight Oompa for the tea in the 6ths.....just joking mate.

Go easy Jamster. Sugar was just happy to last more than one ball after having nightmares all week from the game before.

Sug,

Can you clarify that a mate of yours from the Island, may be returning to Cricket at ANA this year if a coaching decision goes his way at Bentleigh FC?

Re: CMCA- Ommies to remain in top grade

Anything youd like to reveal about the last sentence there Jamstar? last pot shot as you logged off perhaps ;)

Great Numbers on the track tonight at KG Res!

Feel sorry for anybody playing East Bentleigh Central this year with the new track layed in (could be the WP of 08/09)

Re: CMCA- Ommies to remain in top grade

How's everyone looking for Rd.1? I hear Uniting are struggling for decent outfit to kick off the season. Weddings, holidays etc.
Kookas are looking pretty good for Rd.1. Pre-season has been the best I've seen down there in a long time. Hopefully something to build on.

Re: CMCA- Ommies to remain in top grade

We'll be a few short of our best down at Duncan Street due to a footy trip and other engagements but still expect a solid line-up and a first round win from the Premiers. th7 from 8 is on the cards!

Mick you have tough assignment first up.Edi-Asp.Look forward to your thoughts about the standard at the conclusion of the match. Round 1 looks like its going to be a cracker. Will enjoy doing the rounds on the weekend and watching some good cricket and sipping on a couple of ales.Just hope it doesn't rain.I reckon ANA might get over Union, and Washups could surprise the Machine. Good luck to all.

Re: CMCA- Ommies to remain in top grade

Will Guy Martyn be playing thserious? Spoke to him last week and he wasn't sure if his injury concerns would keep him out.
Jamster - I'd be happy with a competitive showing for Rd.1. We'll be a couple short due to a wedding. the boys ran them to within 12-15 runs last year. If we can roll them as cheaply, I would hope that 150-160 wouldn't be too many to get this time around.

With your recent form in the line-up i reckon you'd get 250!
As for Martyn, i wouldn't expect to see him before Christmas if at all. Most likely requires surgery which will be keeping him out for a while.
Look out for big years from a couple of other youngsters in Corp and Devereaux though. Corp's been at all pre-season training after a year o.s. and is my early tip for the comp batting average. And after Devereaux misses Round 1 due to a footy trip we'll be looking for him to go on with his starts that he had consistantly last year. Was never in trouble last year, he just managed to get himself out all the time.

Where'd the Shark Park lad spring from? Having a laugh if he thinks the Machine aren't in the top 6 sides. We'll have to teach the kid some respect in round one.

krotofil who cares where you finish this year you will be out in straight sets anyway!

Re: CMCA- Ommies to remain in top grade

Round 1:
ANA to defeat Union in close one.
West Bentleigh to reveal its southern recruits over Central.
East Sandy to smash Bent.Uniting
Dont know much about these too: ill have a dip and say the Panthers over the woods.
The new fitness of Tim 'insane in the' Malane to lead the Ommies over the redbacks. Clement needs early wickets to set him on the right path for the year.
Mackie to defeat the Washups by 45 runs

Must be expecting union to field their 3rd XI.
Would have gone WB, but Central with J Taranto aboard to win.
No hangover, agreed ESBCC will smash em.
Could be a round 1 playoff for the spoon. Elwood to win.
Omega in a close one.
Washups win on paper, Machine win on the park.

All the breast

Re: CMCA- Ommies to remain in top grade

ANA v Union - ANA will have to be at its aboslute best against one of the strongest batting line ups in the competition in Union. Bowling variety the key.

HC v WB - Don't discard Hampton Central. Last year's grand finallists are deserved of being favourites at home, against a team that lost it's best player in the off-season.

BUtg v ESBC - Cheeks will be on fire in his comeback game for East Sandy. Losing Ernst & Britt (??) leaves a massive gap. Expecting a big drop from Uniting this season.

Elwood v LPP - Le Page have lost some names this season, so their depth will really be tested. Elwood seem to have more talent in this one.

Omega v CS - Omega have gone outside for the first time in a while. Will it pay off? Carnegie South are slowly proving themsleves competent at this level. Lambos should prove a great acquisition. Omega JUST.

WP v Mackie - Washups are talking big numbers this season with the bat, and deservedly so. Where are the bowlers though? If Mackie bats first, the game will be just about over.

Re: CMCA- Ommies to remain in top grade

What about the forgotten grade, Sugar? That's where you best ply your trade. I'm expecting some big numbers from you in Woolnough. Or has the pre-season put you in good stead for a 1st XI berth?
Britt will be hard to replace, but looking at Ernst's season last year he made 90+ against East Sandy and his next best score was 40 with not much thereafter. I believe Manakis might be skipper of the 2's which will hurt the batting line up. They need a bit of experience in the line up, cos it proved quite brittle when the heat was on last year. This game will go a long way to deciding their season methinks. Not sure if they'll be able to bounce back from a hammering (if they were to cop one).

Mick come and sit with me in my no interest boat, we can start our own little group tittled.

THE FORGOTTEN SONS lol

but good luck to all out there on Saturday, with the rain i should have the week off.
And go Uniting, it's a shame that people forget Premiers 2 years ago and 2nd before last round last year, a shocker with the bat in the first final and quickly they are holding up the bottom of the ladder.
Mud pie to go on alot of faces this year who ride off the boys at BUCC:p
