Will do shortly.Just letting Brett catch up.Any other comments or opinions would greatly assist.

Was that you sunning yourself yesterday afternoon 1.15pm on a street side cafe in Collins Street?? You looked like you had sealed another deal and seemed quite pleased with yourself.$$$$$$$$

Why would you say $$$$, if you have heard what i got last season you would not be saying that.

But to answer your question yes that was me. I was have a meeting with Cricket Victoria for a position as fitness advisor.

Re: CMCA- Ommies to remain in top grade

Brett,

Did you notice Clocker noticing you, or were you in another world after a successful interview?I hope there wasn't a spelling test?

Is this a new full time position or has word snuck out about the Marantha Methodist medalist's successful season?I thought the building trade was about to pick up with all the money Kev rev is spreading around.

Adam good luck for the Go Dees tomorrow I might see you in the long room and I am not sure who clocker supports but I am sure such a fine individual as himself would have an MCC membership?

Until next time merlot

Re: CMCA- Ommies to remain in top grade

From what I gather, you were asking that question of me Clocker? Sorry Bret.
Yes, I was in the street in Collins St, possibly passed out as I had just given blood (or was made to by work!). No deals yesterday, just a full guts after lunch!

Merlot,
It's an interesting point you raise re the golf club. I am pretty sure they will take up the challenge and apply for promotion. I know the previous season's Woolnough premiers were the subject of some "discussion" during games (especially against them) given their reluctance to head up to Longy.
Knowing the two blues also, if they do drop down, they will band together and seek promotion back to the top flight ASAP.
Any player/coaching movements Burgs?

Re: CMCA- Ommies to remain in top grade

Fanta pants

At last we have something in common as Merlot has given real man's blood for the past 25 years and no sign of passing out yet.

Clocker

you will have to be more specific as originally I thought you had uncovered Merlot'd identity, then Brett chipped in now fanta pants reckons it was him! Were we all there together and didn't realise?

Re: CMCA- Ommies to remain in top grade

It's been an amazing week for us. To win 3 Premierships in one year is the culmination of a lot of hard work by many people at the club. We are excited to get the opportunity to apply to play in the top grade.

Brett,
I was not referring to you but to Brian. You seem to be very touchy about the $$$$$.Why is that? You made a decision, you explained your reasons so end of discussion.Good luck to you if you can earn a dollar in these tough times.Maybe you should have had Brian look at the contract and add his little bit say 40% commission.Have you possibly burnt a few bridges at Uniting? I mean there are many others there who could have jumped for the $$$$ but have chosen stay with the club.

Re: CMCA- Ommies to remain in top grade

Congratulations Golf on being in a position to move up to Longy next season. From what I hear your competition has already put up the white flag giving you clear access.

Gotta be Leroy...? Congrats champ. How'd Ricey end up after Monday?

Re: CMCA- Ommies to remain in top grade

Golf,

Have you started the recruiting drive as you will need a big bertha and a couple of long irons to match it with the big boys! The pitching wedge just won't do the job!

All good Mick. Good to have a chat with you during and after the game. Ricey like the rest of us pulled up a little bit sore. There are some overworked livers at the club right now.

Re: CMCA- Ommies to remain in top grade

Saw a few of your boys on the Mad Monday celebrations and they were on their way to hospital to visit Ricey with suspected pancreatitis. Glad to hear all's well.

Pleasure was mine, bud. Good luck in the top flight. Unlike my old mate Merlot, I reckon your boys will fit in nicely in the top grade. You've got a good blend with some quality youth there that should see a gradual progression.

Re: CMCA- Ommies to remain in top grade

Mick's out of hospital now and recuperating at home.
We can only do our best. It's hopefully the start of an eventful and successful journey for the club in the top grade.

Geez Mick... it took you a while to finally agree with me.

Re: CMCA- Ommies to remain in top grade

Adam. Unlike your defeatist attitude after a loss pre-Xmas break, I wasn't prepared to concede my club were without a fighting chance. I still believe on our day we can beat any given side and that was proven by comprehensively beating Kingston. That said, they proved to be the most consistent side over the course of a season and will bear the fruits with a much deserved promotion.

G'day UM,
Archie here, just thought i would add my seasons wrap up on few things.
Great to see the Heath up there in the top grade, but unfortunately, if they do not pick up at least 3 quality players then i think their stay will be short.
They need a quality 400-450 run batsman, and quick and penetrating opening bowler, and a quality alrounder.
They are however, keen and good in the field, just haven't enough ammo just yet, but its early days and i reckon they will be on the recruiting drive.
How are they off for cash? Will they spend a bit on coaching & players, or go with what they've got?
There is still a major difference between Longy and Woolly, even the '' good old two blues '' are not guanteed to win Woolly and get straight back up, in fact, this relegation could see the Centrals fall away big time.
Merlot, good to see you've survived the latest case of ''burn bum'', you have to stay away from those curries, you know better, just add water.
To ''The Blairs'', Union web site is a disgrace, what's going on? Better bring back little Hammergate to liven things up.
Word out on the Street is that Baraka and his crew are already working on things for next season, i just wish they would employ a good webmaster to keep their web site updated.
Brett, good to see you still keep an eye on your old stomping ground, heard there might be a coaching vacancy at your old club for next season, your new worldy experiences might be of some value !!!!!!!!!!
Sug, nice way to finish off the season with a 4ths premiership, keep blooding the youth, but maybe need to pull back a bit until they are actually ready to play, you still need some experience in the 1st 11, get on the front foot early with those approachable players list, there are a couple of quality players who might be looking for a new home in 09/10.
Good luck to all of the forumsters, its been good chatting.
:D:rolleyes::):p

Ahh Archie ear to the ground as always.Interesting to see if Brett's little tid bit has any legs concerning the little champ and Elwood.Perhaps a little muck racking??? If correct then their batting list will be cause for alarm for a number of teams. No doubt over the coming months there will be many rumours.

Re: CMCA- Ommies to remain in top grade

If the "little champ" doesn't get the top job next season he's on the open market and pretty keen to stay in the CMCA.
Elwood chased hard last year and West Bentleigh was almost a done deal til an irrefutable offer came from the hooped ones. Also in the hunt were the ANA boys, but he wasn't interested in pursuing their offer. You can scrap Mackie off the list after Buddha burnt him with a faxed statement to the tribunal post Rd.11.

All this has come directly from the horses mouth with his blessing to put it up on the bigcricket forum. Will be an intersting 6 months, but like the pointless AFL trade period, we probably won't know more until close to the deadline - ie the season proper.

For the record, my guess is whilst Con's very keen to lead his club again, I think Union will stick with the current appointments and West Bentleigh will acquire his services. Unless of course Elwood shell out the big bucks.

UM,

I understand it would unreasonable of me to ask you to reveal exact numbers, but as im completely removed from this market what sort of area are we talking when you say "big bucks"???

Re: CMCA- Ommies to remain in top grade

Uncle Mick,

The forum is alive with the sound of music oops CMCA and the season has only just finished .We could do what the media and AFL do how many sleeps until cricket starts.

I am sure the golf club will fit but Merlot being a bit older ( not necessarily wiser ) has seen clubs come up and go down straight away. Not having seen much Woolnough in the last 12 months I am batting out of my depth in the assessment of the Tiger Woods mob.

Archie ( mmmmmm ) my allegded soul mate has supported the Merlot theory of needing a couple of newbies to be competitive.Having beaten them and if you were now in their position would you go recruiting to step up a level?I may take more interest in Wooly next year and who knows I maybe able to see both Uncle Mick and Burger Bourbon in action in the same game.

Archie,

No bum burn and no need of water just a glass or two of Merlot and topped off occassionally with a Horlicks night cap.Have stayed away from the sub continent of late as while the Merlot noggin is a bit rough it is the only one I've got.

April fools day is tomorrow you are a day early stating Barrack & co are working on next season!

Maybe you and or our champion data stats man Clocker could provide some examples of teams coming up and going down with or without recruiting.A woman on the Collins street tram did whisper Brett back to BU with best mate Barrack?

Clocker

Bring on the rumours that's what the forum is for it doesn't matter if they are true or not it ignites discussion.Although my impeccable sources have dried up more than my front lawn has of late.

Army,

Could the lure of the green folding stuff get the junior Golden Greek to the picturesq Fawkner Park with their many passing delights and cottage green feel to it?Those short boundaries could only add to his batting average!

However if the sky blues manage to secure him will he have to lift his drinking game?

Good to see a hive of activity today

until next time Merlot
