Predictions for Round 5???

Epping v Macleod - Could be over very early

Mernda v Lower Eltham - Lower to continue there winning streak

Research v Lalor Stars - Lalor batsmen in form

Lower Plenty v Bundoora - Bundoora in a close one

Riverside v Eltham - Gibbs and Smale to score big hundreds

Diamond Creek v Plenty - Plenty finding form and always step up against creek

Ladder is starting to take some kind of form now Lower eltham Epping Creek and maybe plenty????

My predictions for round 5, for what they are worth are

Epping v Macleod Epping, possibly outright.

Mernda v Lower Eltham Match of the year so far, leaning towards Lower and Burgs to take five and Gunny to get a truck load.

Research V Lalor Stars No Turner, Research no hope.

Lower Plenty v Bundoora Lower Plenty to win, they are at home and will be starting to get desperate for a win.

Riverside v Eltham Riverside to win. Skips will make 180 and still fall 40 short.

Creek v Plenty Honestly don't know, toss of coin, Creek at home.

Be interesting if this round will shape the ladder. If Lower Eltham get up, they will be at least 9 points clear, and you would think they will have just about sewn up a top 4 spot, but it is there biggest test to date.

Rumour i've also heard that Lalor Stars have just picked up a former Pakistani international player, playing tomorrow and from all reports makes batting look very easy.

Good luck to everyone on the weekend.

Re: DVCA: Barclay Shield

Its late but for what its worth.....yes probably nothing:

Pingers....will win

Research...home small ground, no GT but have a few in reserve.

Lower Eltham....should be a close one, Burgs to actually hit the pitch this week!

Lower Plenty....Arnburger (I Know I have said that before)

Eltham....Skip 100+ Dick Hall first BS 50

Creek.....again maybe close, Glynns to take control.

My thoughts and half a bottle of Bundy ideas.

Good luck

Confirmed.

His name is Mujahid JAMSHED, has played 4 ODI's for Pakistan and 127 first class matches.

Has 16 first class tons, and 29 50's, with a high score of 196 and an average of 32.20. Also bowled right arm mediums (7 first class wickets and one ODI wicket) which obviously were nothing special at first class level, but might trouble a few blokes in the DVCA.

Also, the bloke is still only 36 (nearly 37) so you'd imagine he'd still be in pretty good nick.

Good pick-up by the Stars.

Re: DVCA: Barclay Shield

What's happened at Mernda?

Lower Eltham out for 131 and Mernda 8/48!!!!

All this from the top 2 sides.

Seems pretty strange to me.

Anyone there can shed some light.

Re: DVCA: Barclay Shield

Does anyone know a good doctor that is a specialist in the area of arses? There is apparently 11 Eltham players that had their's rammed big time today!
