Eca 2011/2012

Deepdene vs. Marc OC -
Boronia vs. GI - GI need to win to make finals
Mulgrave vs. Bulleen - Davidson to have a day out with Mulgrave bats
MA vs. RC - Surely
ED vs. Ashy - Ashy must win
Hawthorn vs. St Kevs - Hawthorn with tails up after GI clash

Will this rain halt the start of 2dayers for 2012?

Also, will it change peoples tips if some teams dont get on this week?
Forecast looks generally ok. Bulleen game will be interesting? Love to see Skevs V Hawthorne at Rathies
As much interest in top of the table as bottom of the table this round

Mont Albert are also not safe, could be some interesting relegations this year, am looking forward to the 2 dayers coming up, lets hope rain doesnt interupt them! My tips for this week below, BOG in brackets:

Deepdene vs. Marc OC - the bears without breaking a sweat (Parsons)
Boronia vs. GI - Boronia at home (Armstrong)
Mulgrave vs. Bulleen - Bulleen to thrash mulgrave and their fragile batting line up (Davo)
MA vs. RC - RC last chance to prove theyre up to dunstan standard - as harsh said, loser will go down (Laws)
ED vs. Ashy - Ashy easily as they make their way back (Cox)
Hawthorn vs. St Kevs - skevs to struggle away from home, hawthorn to top the table at the end of this round (Lawton)

I like the BOG idea but a tad dissapointed in the selections, as everyone besides Lawton is a captain/star player.

Deepdene vs. Marc OC
Boronia vs. GI
Mulgrave vs. Bulleen
MA vs. RC
ED vs. Ashy
Hawthorn vs. St Kevs

It does look that way, but my selections were purely on form, and I think I was pretty spot on.

Parsons 48 and 4-1-1-7 (did alot to ensure they beat RC)
Armstrong 50 (makes it his 4th 50 this year, averaging just under 60)
Davo 7.4-1-2-21 (could be excused for not in form, but a true champion)
Laws 4-1-3-11 (isnt a bowler and took 3 wickets against arguably best team)
Cox 82* and 2 catches (speaks for himself)
Lawton 27 (in a winning side who are second on the ladder)

Who are your BOGs igniter?

so you've put laws as BOG due to his bowling?? according to mycricket he's bowled 6 overs in 7 seasons. there's a differenece between form and fluke. I would think laws should focus on his batting to keep RC up in Dunstan.

I am not picking him has a bowler, just stating that when he fails with the bat, hes not out of the game, but if that is the only one you can pick on, then I have done pretty well.

give me yours and then I will pick them apart

If we're going on form i'd have to agree with both parsons and armstrong, as parsons performs with both bat and ball and armstrong, i'm pretty sure, is leading run scorer.

Mulgrave vs. Bulleen - i'd go with Porter as he's in pretty decent form averaging 65 with the bat
MA vs. RC - Lilley just over Baker as he's leading wicket taker
ED vs. Ashy - Swift, bowling well and makes a few runs at no. 5
Hawthorn vs. St Kevs - Tongue, 400 runs and one of the better bowlers going round

You do know there are 2 laws? R and N... N bats, R bowls...

As for me Crawford, Suckling and Stafford!

As it seems every week this season......what an interesting round. Notably Boronia V GI. GI let slip a strangehold on BOR only to be thwarted by record last wicket.....personally, i think the GI batting is vastly over rated. Who has performed other than Armstrong? (and he is in the sheds already!)
I cant see them chasing 190-odd....

Battle for relegation is still interesting and it will be tight at Boronia

Who do you think will go down?
Mully have ED,Marcellin and Bears, Bulleen have Bears,Willows and Monts. City have Skevs,G I and Boronia.
On face value I would think that City and Bulleen have the hardest run home.
Mully are an outside chance to win 2, Bulleen on a good day possibility to win 1 and City possibly none.
In the end I think City and Bulleen are in trouble.
Promotion from A is also interesting. It seem like the recruiting from Camberwell for North Balwyn is paying off and they should be able to compete in Dunstan but the next 4, I am not sure about.

Over a beer over new year I was talking to a well placed Premier Cricket identity and he expressed concern for the future of Camberwell Magpies. Issues with grounds, possible 2 new teams coming into Premier Cricket.
Rationalization of the comp. Reduced financial allocation to Premier and Sub District clubs will occur.
Interesting to see who might join Sub district if 2 teams join Premier.
He suggested that 1 may come from ECA and one from elsewhere.
He did not know who it might be but apparently a couple of ECA clubs have applied in the past.

Apparently earlier in the year there was rumour going round that Paul Collingwood was to play some games for bulleen but i recently heard that he's going to play a few for deepdene....anyone know much about this??
