Forum Predictions
Well Punters it looks like the general consensus is
Premiers : Will be a play off between Ashy & Glen Iris . With Ashy to win
Relegation : Seems to be Boronia and either ED or Marcellin heading to A turf
Dunstan Medal : the engraver may as well put Taylors name on it now ........... not sure we can take XXXX angels too seriously ..... Stallworthy ...really ? the dont hand out medals for being a muppet.
I'm sticking with Mont Albert!

I'm sticking with GI, but if Taylor goes home before Finals, I'll have a HUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUGE question mark over them - he is almost their entire structure, tight bowling and quality batting. They are much much thinner without them.

Ashy and MA logical picks if Taylor goes home.

Does anyone know if he's here or going home for finals?

Mully's miniature POM has gone, word is that MA's POM goes home before finals too.

Appearently Taylor is staying. Must be on good coin. See link

He's playing well, but must've been a slow news day :)
I'm big on GI, and they beat MA and Ashy play GI in a massive game next round. There is a slight chance Ashy couldn't make it, but the wheels would have to fall off.
I'm interested in why people think Ashy and MA can win it? Ashy are going ok, but haven't got a stand out performer, do they? MA started really well and are winning all their games, which is all you can do, but I'm concerned that if the POM is going home, their bowling might be a bit light on. No question with their batting with Wright and Vance, but GI for mine - the POM staying is massive

I think you can only go on recent proven performances PL, hence MA and AW, both have won flags in the last few years with similar teams, the likes of vance, wright, hargraves, baker, swift, cox and richards. They know how to win and get it done. On the other hand, GI have had 2 chances going into the semi being favourites and coughed it up. Things might change though this year!

I think if Hawthorn do make it though, Tongue is a match winner and does stand up in finals series as he has done in the past. Still my tip if they make it, if not, MA.

Tongue isn't having the impact this year that he has in previous years. Obviously he is still a champion of the comp, but I'd be less worried if I was up against them this year than previous years.

With Ashy I think that Goodwin is bowling well this year (not sure how many wickets he has) but he hits the wicket hard and is strong which will help on harder finals wickets. Swifty is getting on in years now and whilst he is still a smart bowler, he won't take heaps of wickets.

New topic:
Of the great all rounders (I use great in context of the comp), which are batting all rounders and who are bowling all rounders and who are equal?
My list, which you can all add to is this:
Parsons - batting all rounder - but great at both
Tongue - bowling all rounder - obviously batting is very good
Grubich - batting all rounder - has taken a lot of wickets too
Hargraves - bowling all rounder - has made a lot of runs over many years
Swift - bowling all rounder - class bowler in his prime

Ones I wanted to include were Dineen, Ancher, Dean Day, Binney and Vance, but I didn't know if they classified as all rounders. I also don't think Swift is an all rounder any more because his batting is so poor, but put him in anyway.

think your Top 3 are the standouts of the Comp

Parson
Tongue
Hargraves
Binney
Swift

That's my top 5. Swift is a handy bat. Don't think he is poor at all...

Seb Gotch is at Ashy playing for nothing as well. His boss plays in the 1's!

Not sure about Binney's batting, and Swift's batting has been very poor this year. Parsons is the best player in the comp by a mile. Not having the best year with the bat, but a star.

Mayor & PB, so in your side you have:
Binney - 105 runs av 13
Swift - 34 runs av 5

Can't be considered.. especially Binney who before this season hadn't taken wickets in Dunstan. If its on reputation? or how they have gone this year? Binney bowling yep, not all rounder.

Grubich - 11 wickets @ 21 Not sure if that is right up there, but his batting has been very good.

I don't have Binney (I said he maybe should be in there but I don't know enough about his batting) and I said what I thought about Swift's batting.
