They recken Phil Unsworth was rapid in his day? Played against him a couple of times and didn't find him overly quick when he was at Guild/St Marys.
I was a kid when coached us , he was dangerous on the hard wicket. He'd bowl five bouncers an over!

on his day..... Marsland.

two quickest spells ive seen was miller against prahan in a one dayer, and travis faulkhead at geelong in a 2nd inning. hasset was on the 30 yard circle and slips were outside it. those two spells were scary.
millsy broke a srilankan imports arm that day against prahan, i was down a 3rd man pooing my pants.

Heard Hally at Grovey was as quick as anyone on his day. Quickest i've faced are Miller then Harper. Shorter men like Miller always hurry you up more than the big guys like Ando and Harps, but are not necessarily quicker, just skiddier.

Personally from what I've faced I would think Harper, Quick, Wilson, Wiese Murray; maybe in that order. Charlie Owen and Charlie Lamb both very sharp on their day also. Miller quick for the season he was at NDCC & Cullen from BPH.

Is that Shane Wilson?

yeah i heard marsland is pretty quick. also witnessed phil unsworth when he was with bell post against thomson in a one dayer at godfrey st, he was scary that day and i was only watching, he was supposed to bowl 1st change but cullen who was apparantly quicker was injured so phil opened. also seen millsy in that final for ndcc and he was rapid, and barsy still didnt put a lid on, thats ballsy.
whos the 1 bowler in each comp that can still put shivers down the spine?

both times we played thomson, bosworth didn't play. But from what i hear, on his day he's quite fast. Benci's not lightning, but he pushes them down. When murray was still at ndcc, we were watching him bowl against sth barwon on tea break one day, he looked fkn lightning haha.
And what about justin miller? I saw him when he was at ndcc in their semi against east a few years back, and i don't think i've ever seen quicker haha

when we played thomson bosworth did and he wasn't quick. Benci's bouncer is as quick as any, slight issue with the bent elbow tho!!! Surely miller is the quickest in geelong still at the moment, 140kph is fairly sharp.

I remember he was trying to bounce a Pom at Thomson when I was there Andrew "king" Hall, I think he got him with a short one........once he was 140 odd:D

Correct. From memory his brother (name escapes me) was sharpish also. I wasn't around way back when but the older fellas reckon that Damien DeGrandi was possibly the quickest & scariest to have played.

Shane still plays now, down at Barrabool in the BPCA not as quick as he would of been years ago but can still push them through alright.

Furgy hit me over the Drysdale change rooms in the 7's comp last year:eek:

Bear (Rohan Merry) use to hit them into the tennis courts at Thomson quite regularly.

Big Feather hit one from St Albans onto boundary rd, and into the shop on the other side a few times.

The King batted all day that game.
For pure pace it would be Haper but i would prefer to face him over Anderton or Miller as they both are hard to pick up out of the hand, especially Miller who is quite whippy with his action and the ball skids on to you + you have got his enormous run-up to contend with, i bought an arm guard the night before the NDCC game. Haven't seen Marsland bowl for a couple years but he used to make batsmen jump all over the crease when we played school cricket.
Benci can send them down but isn't in the same ball park as those stated above.
Quicky has still got a good quicker one, he pinged me on the lid couple years ago.
Alford previously from North Geelong who is now down at Geelong bowls pretty good wheels these days also.
What about that bloke called Adam Di Giacommo who was from the Geelong region, think he plays VCA at North Melbourne now, some people say he used to send them down at some pace?

Biggest 6 i've seen in a game i've played in would be at Camberwell, Port Powers Travis Boak got hit a long long way. Over 40m high trees, over a road and deep into the cementary at Camberwell's 3rds ground.
Seen Cetkovic hit it into the Kindergarden at Thomson, Smelly hit Ando a long way in a 1 dayer at Manifold a few years ago also.
