Nah I doubt it. Got them into the finals and GF with his own gloves apparently. But if he was dropping catches and letting through byes it was probably due to one bowler being a chucker and the other a large angry left hander who kept bowling them several feet down leg side. Maybe you should go down and watch him one day and see how good his hands actually are! You might learn a thing or two!

Hey mate, these are the things I hear. Apparently you have all the gos so we should listen to you more often!! You seem to be a very wise man. But I am sure you don't need to be reminded of that!
I think Moore might become a better keeper for working under Breuer. We will just have to wait and see.

Re: Geelong Cricket '08/'09(gca/bpca)

Does anybody know if there is going to be a 20/20 comp in the GCA this year! I have heard some talk but no confirmation at this stage.

No news as yet. I think the GCA is waiting to see what happens with Manifold before a final decision is made. Tuesday or Thursday nights would be best.

Decision has been made. Manifold are on their way to Div 2.

Re: Geelong Cricket '08/'09(gca/bpca)

It would have been silly if Manifold didn't have a crack at trying to stay up. Everybody else has over the years.
Lets just get on with the season now, release the draw and start playing.

Re: Geelong Cricket '08/'09(gca/bpca)

city will be the big improvers this season under the best recruit of the year in scott lindsay. also with pittsy back who is one of the best bats in gca and nick jarvis and downy at the top with a pommy in the middle order, batting will be very strong.

kent agg is very underated and i think he will dominate this year.
would not be surprised if city finish top 4.

Re: Geelong Cricket '08/'09(gca/bpca)

GWC&FC into the BPCA what a joke, that will be the biggest mistake they ever make prob the biggest rubble in geelong cricket, them and marshall:mad:

Kent Agg is a good bowler, but cannot see him dominating.
Bowling is still quite light.
A lot on Marslands shoulders. He needs to take consistent bags to limit teams to chasable scores.

Schnik.........yeah!!!!!;226551 said:
I thought Newcomb had run out of cash again, just like the footy club.
they only just payed blokes last year for the previous 2 years, i don't think hally would be on much if he has accepted it as a non playing coach.

it's going to be intresting with st albans not clearing there 2 best juniors Ryan Mills and Chris Hester, apparently there's a rule wair your jnr's have to play so many games at a club before they can leave and with a turf wicket going in that can't be an excuse.
I think its a good rule, i meen you can't put years of work into a kid and have him up and leave, going to vca is differant and the club would back them to go there but NDCC? no chance, they where on permits last year. whats people's thoughts on this?

Re: Geelong Cricket '08/'09(gca/bpca)

By memory you have to play 20 or 22 senior games before you can receive an automatic clearence!!!! Something along those lines anyway!

Your spot on. Marsland will have to take on a fairly big work load this year. Mind you, I do think he is good enough.
Kent needs to drop down the order and just concentrate on his bowling and not worry about his batting. He would be more handy for the team batting 7 or 8.
But I think Trav Agg is a bigger miss than Lindsay is as a super pick up. Jarvis was coming of age late last year, so they will need him to step up again as he did last year to help with the batting stakes. But knowing he has Lindsay and Pittsy just sitting in behind, it will help out.
But top 4, I think not. Not yet anyway! Top 6 yes!

yeah i think thats right, clubs with poor jnr structure have themselves to blame, i meen if NDCC can afford to pay blokes like Miller, Murray, Jones, Smiljanic, Koliba and Clint Ford in one season to name a few and there got no kids coming through who's faults that?
I believe its the same deal with the footy club!

Lot of improving to be done.
