haha ketts loved a chirp, fair to say it was going both ways that match.
there isn't much rivalry lost in the tigers vs heat games :D

yeh it was a good battle and tune up before the finals, hopefully this year it will be as willing but their can be a couple of beers afterwards, not you guys running to get first dibs on the pool table haha, $3 carlsbergs were the big winner!!!

Re: Geelong Cricket '08/'09(gca/bpca)

My BPCA Team
Picked mainly on form from 07/08 - Schaller gone from BH so didn't pick him either
1. Jason Mallett (BH)
2. Ash Poulton (Ang)
3. Mitch Herbison (BH)
4. Craig Biddiscombe (BH)
5. Jason Murray (St A)
6. Damian Vassilou (Port)
7. Kade Norquay (Coll)- WK
8. Paul McGrath (Port)
9. Michael Fabris (Coll)
10. Chris Jones (St A)
11. Brendan Long (Coll)

Like the variety Fabris left armers offer, and McGrath, Jones, Long, Murray and Biddiscombe could all bowl. Option of using Mallett or Poulton as spinners

5th bowler too tight to pick, have to see who fires early on!![/QUOTE]

Thats a good side isn't it? I think the BPCA might have them covered in the bowling though.
Batting is strong for the GCA division two side.

Thats not a bad side, I didn't pick Mallet didn't think he done much last year, Poulter had a good year 400+ runs, long for me besides last year wouldnt bother many. I picked my side on who I thought would be the best team to beat the GCA DIV2 so I got a couple who would be question marks.
The bowling is very strong though.

Yeah sure would be, I think it would be worth watching either way the GCA side looks very strong.

I do like the BPCA bowling attack though.

Jones and Murray (two of the best going around in all leagues) with Biddiscombe's smart swing bowling Schaller to be the trump with his great variety of leggies and wrong 'uns and either Mcgrath or Hardiman if he does play swinging the ball at decent pace, also Haeberle for variety with some spinners and Herbission's handy stump to stump meds.

I love to see this game played at a turf venue between Geelong and the Bellarine maybe at Leopold?

12. Matthew Cook (BH)

If your playing hardwicket, only need to one spinner Schaller, who causes imense toruble with boucne / turn and variations, while the pacemean will provide a test, Cook 12th.

If turf, the options of Mallet, Poulton of spin, espcially Mallet whose quicket skiddy leggies can be used to back up Schaller, Jason Murray to get quick and Fabris to swing em in!

a strong influence of captains through both sides, maybe it could be a battle of the captains from both competitions, that way there isn't any one paticular club dominating the sides. Would test the b.p.c.a depth a little more, i think
