Could bat Forssman. Made a good 100 against us one day. Retired too early?

Made a comeback about 3 years ago, but did his hamstring just about every week.

Plays golf now, I believe

played at torquay a couple of years back and big stevo hit me for 3 largies, 2 over midwicket on creek side and then the monster went straight back over my head back to the geelong end and was post high as it sailed thru, got him next ball though with the slower 1, all went to plan

Could hit a ball the old Alex Cetkovic. Made a hundred against us before. How old would he be now?

Re: Geelong Cricket '08/'09(gca/bpca)

ok, one of the biggest hits I have been hit for, and I have been hit for a few !! One day at Geelong West (West Oval) I was bowling from the City end to an aged left handed wicket-keeper, whose name escapes me !! But he wore glasses at that stage. We were playing on one of the closest wickets to the club room end, but it is still a big hit at West to the fence. Anyway the old fella thought he would go out of his 1st XI career with one of the biggest sixers ever seen. After an almighty swing over cow corner the ball sailed over the top of the Flower Family stand and landed on the road !! It defintely was the case of being able to think about the ball you bowled by the time the ball came back 10 minutes later !!

Not sure if you would put Forsmann into the legend status of the game, he just did not play enough. He could play but I do not think he was ever tested at the Division 1 level because of injury.

i remember when i was a little fellar, watching my dad play against alexander thomson. this is when we were still st mary's, not guild/st mary's so it's like, 11 or 12 years ago. brendan foresman made 210 not out against us, and he put one into the tennis court next to their ground.
we've seen a few balls go flying over the sheds at our ground. bouncing down the court haha. when steve alsop still played for us, he cleared west fyans st at training one day

brendan forsmann has never made a 200 playing firsts at AT . There is no chance anyone in geelong could hit the ball that far, it is atleast 200 metres away from the pitch.

Re: Geelong Cricket '08/'09(gca/bpca)

I remember the early 1980,s when Ian Durran opened the bowling at St Albans in the BPCA. Not only was he very quick he could also bat.He came in at St Albans when the side was in deep trouble batting at number 5 or 6 (He could play) he proceeded to tear the opposition apart (Newcomb from memory) he clean hit a six into the tennis courts and several others onto Boundary Road.
He still plays occasionally in the fourths at Collindina (Lives down that way)when he,s not putting on bets or smoking stinking cigars.

when i was about, 14 or so i was playing 3rds against bell park. at tea, we walked over to watch the 1sts and saw salts drop kick our operner over the pokies. i think it landed on the roof or just over, i can;t remember. but that was a massive hit i'll never forget

rumour has that it cleared the pokies.
he also hit hornett into the playground up the other end.
him and Big Al didn't muck around when it came to hitting the ball hard.
Salts nearly killed Cetkovic one day when he smashed one straight back at him at the non-strikers end, hit Alex in the head and still nearly went for 6, would have killed a normal human being but big Al continued to bat on.

Brendan Forsmann hits a golf ball f*cking miles, saw him fly the 1st green at East Geelong, one bounce and onto the 2nd tee box.
There was no wind and it was a 3 Wood.

Bluey Connelly is still getting over the fact Talarico hit him for 3 6s over the Thommy clubrooms in the one over, thus forcing him into an early retirement from leg-spin.
