Here's my side. I have prob left out a few ppl... But would be an effing cracking match!! Some are in based on form, some on reputation alone!

1. G.Kelson........... 1. A.Baars
2. B.Smiljanic........ 2. A.Pitts
3. S.Loftus........... 3. G.Talarico
4. B.Hauenstein (c) 4. C.Bambury
5. A.Clark............. 5. R.Kiddle (c)
6. T.Faulkhead...... 6. D.Morgan
7. M.Hanley (K)..... 7. D.Fanning
8. B.Stacey.......... 8. S.Breuer (k)
9. A.Marsland....... 9. S.Farnsworth
10. G.Harper.......... 10. B.Anderton
11. R.Zanoni.......... 11. C. Ford

12th. Colin Thomspson..... 12th. Coggsy

Problem already, Hanley ( dont think he has done anything, better keepers out there like M.Kelson atleast made a run with Grovey and played in a premiership, Breuer gets the get go but not my first chioce there's the pom from East very handy & Anderson from NDCC, the one that makes me laugh is Farnsworth, how many wickets did he get at NDCC, maybe 10 at the most, bit ambitious. Havnt named D.Hughes, D.Koliba, S.Lindsay, B.Scown, and there would be a couple more. Anyone else got there A vs B side???

apart from that not bad . . . .

dunno if we should be having overseas players in the squads, so let's just keep it local. I have played Hanley a number of times and he is a promising young bat so would like to see him in there and to also take the gloves. Breuer would seriously not be able to take anymore strain on his legs so would not play in any games outside his own South Barwon games. So Michael Kelson would come in. Same with Stacka he is not interested in playing any extra cricket at this stage of his career. I suppose we would be looking at some new blood in the spin bowling department, not sure the options there but probably Tsistas as one of the spinners. And also with his start of season form you would possibly see Gareth Yelland up there somewhere.

Haha Look firstly, i look the cut of Hanley's jib. Dunno why- i just do. Secondly im not having Nasho's in my team like this pom with no runs yet!!
IPL i agree with the Breuer comment- so ill gladly replace him with Kelson. Stiff titties with Stacca though, im forcing him to play.
Lastly pavillion- yeh Farnsworth made me laugh too...but i guess that just illustrates our quick bowling depth atm!! (minimal)

Re: Geelong Cricket '08/'09(gca/bpca)

The Geel Addy have done it again, are they serious? Geelongs #1 pole smoker getting a gig trying to play cricket:confused: What a joke these muppets are at that paper, they are a disgrace:mad:

im sure dazza will put in his report. the outfield at newton was first class. lightning fast and only a 50m boundary to the clubroom side.
the wicket was FLAT, not one blade of grass, the ball was chewed up by the 10th over and by the end looked like a dogs toy.
Tough day for bowlers

the deck was a pearler to bat on.Thats why Lpld batted first!
Stop thinking of yourself as usual. What, it should have been green just for you.
We all have been listening to your dribble for months.Good on ya.You bowled a dozen overs and you felt you couldnt have done anymore for your side?Wait til January then you will fry out there.I saw ya.
Thats what everyone is referring too!Souths oval would be lucky to be 50m to the boundary in places.
Hypocricy while you are glad giving everyone lip on here.
We can do that too!

hehe, he is back. After almost scoring a half century with the bat the name might have to change to right arm medium allrounder !! You are just trying to stir up young Beck. He will love this !! :)

I can already see how well that'd go down with Hornet if he got rubbed out for YOU giving it to someone!!
Am looking forward to sitting on the hill with an eski full of frosties watching some good cricket on sunday. No babbs?

Thomson won the toss and decided to bat on an ok wicket at Waurn Ponds.

Early trouble as both Salts (0) and Bliss (1) fell cheaply to Mark Perry (4-47), at 2-16 Dahlhaus was joined by Smiljanic and they proceeded to steady the ship. Dahlhaus (12) was caught at slip by Skene off the bowling of Port (4-76), arguably one of the best catches i have ever seen. English import James McCoy joined Smiljanic and the two of them produced a nice little partnership of 56 with McCoy (14) spooning one to cover of the bowling of Port. Smiljanic(93) was punishing any loose bowling and hit some cracking shots through/over cover, he ended up 7 short of what would have been a well deserved century. Strods (13), O'Neill (20), Plant (12) and Riches (18*) chipped in the final overs to push the score to 9/223 from 50 overs. For the second consecutive week, Sundries (26) was Thomson's 2nd top scorer.

Bosworth (1-36), returned after missing the first week sunning himself in Bali, opened the bowling with Riches (3-15) and both bowled tidy without making any early inroads. Good ground fielding from the tigers restricted Waurn Ponds throughout their innings with O'Neill running out opener Barot (15). Ponds keeper Johnson (1) was well caught by Plant at square leg off Bosworths bowling. Petterwood (0-10) dropped the danger man Skene (40) at cover off the bowling off Smiljanic (2-25), probably the easiest catch not taken ever, but then with Skene and the non-striker both at the same end he ran him out. Port(33*) batted for the majority of the innings with some tight bowling and good ground fielding restricting runs, only Newton (10) was able to make it into double figures. Saltalamacchia (2-19) and Dahlhaus (0-8) did the donkey work in the middle overs keeping it tight. Riches returned and cleaned up the tail, a nice reward for some good bowling at the start of Waurn Pond's runchase. Eventually Thomson got the 10 required wickets with the score on 116 in the 48th over.

Votes: 3 Smiljanic 2 Skene 1 Riches

NOTE: Ponds still has the best afternoon tea in Geelong, chicken nuggets turned into mini-chicken Parmi's... Brilliant! :D

Lara, best tea last t ime i was there, worst gca 2 side with best tea by amile.. Marshall, only good thing about them.
