yes, it was boring as hell to watch, but for 14 years old, to show that temporment was awesome. played some really nice shots too

I put the figures up to show you how good the wicket is at Thomson, it's hard to bowl teams out at Godfrey St.

Everyone knows Manifold are the team to beat, they were mid-table in Division 1 so if they're weren't winning in Division 2 i would assume they'd be disappointed.

At the same time we're confident we can push them all the way and if we weren't thinking like that well then my team might as well not bother to turn up on Saturday's.

Don't get our confidence mixed up with arrogance, we respect every team we play but we're playing hard to win games of cricket.

Well put Riss. Surely the biggest disappointment this season in Div 2 are the boys from Torquay. I mean, everyone knew they were struggling in Div 1 but then to come down a level and really struggle in all grades makes you wonder what has happened down the Surfcoast Hwy. Maybe anyone on here associated with the club could give a bit of an insight. Probably five or more years since they won that Div 2 flag and went up to Div 1 but could it be that the demands and rigors of Div 1 have hurt them. Many clubs around that would go down the same path if exposed to Div 1 for a length of time. My club for one and I would certainly empathise with Highton this year for not going up. At the end of the day, a club wants to be the best it can be but sometimes, like it or not, that is a good, solid Divvy 2 club. Thoughts?

Re: Geelong Cricket Chat

saw this wen i was browsing round here
not bad bowlin figgers:eek:

Karachi: A Pakistani fast bowler has set a unique record of sorts in a Twenty20 domestic cricket tournament when he conceded 30 runs without bowling a single legal delivery.

In a match of the Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Twenty20 memorial tournament earlier this week, a Port Qasim pacer Zaid Mir had to be taken out of the attack after he failed to bowl a single legal delivery with his bowling figures reading 0-0-31-0 (10 NB).

The match was played at the Karachi Gymkhana ground with the Port Qasim side, coached by former Pakistan captain Rashid Latif, taking on the hosts in a group fixture.

"Fast bowler Zaid Mir was asked to bowl and he sent down 10 successive no balls resulting in 10 free hits to the batsmen who scored 31 runs off them," a scorer in the match said.

"Given the strange situation umpire Saleem Badr allowed Zaid to be taken out of the firing line after he officially said he had suffered a leg strain and couldn't bowl," the scorer added.

He said although Zaid was taken out of the attack, his over was completed by Khalid Latif.

The tournament is being organised under the supervision of the Pakistan Cricket Board and features some of the top first class departmental and regional teams of the country.

i'm sure they're ready for the first real challenge of the year, if that's what you mean. i personally think it'd do the 1's good to lose. bring them down a notch or two, stop talking about winning flags when it's not even christmas yet.
but we played them last week in the two's, and they were meant to be the top team, and they were very average. we bowled them out for 100 and passed them pretty easy..
but their 1's will be a lot stronger, and hopefuly really put it up to us.
i'd love to see fergy smack a big tonne, just to show our bowler's that they're not invincible.

I got very strong mail that Damien Koliba is moving clubs next season, as good as signed up at a certain club. Any truth in this JP?

pretty early in the season to be signing up for another club, plenty water to cross under the bridge until then. Probably a good mail rumour I would say.
