Time to stand up and ask questions of your own club 3D, as your club is voting in favour of the merge.
Yes you are right hopefully all clubs will knock this on the head..

My post was regarding the movement of a certian person from pascoe, nothing to do with your intentions. I was only referring to you in response to the club's decision to move people on, who don't have the clubs best interest at heart for what ever reason, as you have a leadership role at your club

We all no pacco did not ask any player to move just sometimes personalities clash, guys wanting to get the best for their children sometime seem to be selfish and no doubt as fathers we are all guilty at times. Let it rest!

You need more than catching practice, you need to get respect back from the blokes in your team after costing them a spot in the Grand Final.
Hang your head in shame instead of coming on here and telling us all about what you have done in years gone by. We could read about your achievements on a postage stamp.

Would be a very expensive stamp though ffnb!!
I will always have more respect than you.
I do owe my mates and club alot but there is still
plenty of go in me for many years.
I admire guys like P.Kett and N.Taylor for still getting about
even though they are older, they still play to enjoy the game.

Thanks Kingy, i'll take you up on the pre season training.
Any time you want to work on your batting i'll be the first one
to put my hand up and send you down some slow/medium stuff.
May not be the same as Shane George but it is still red and round...

Based on this years form, would you really want this guy. I would've thought that he would already be finished.

Lot more to cricket, than hitting a ball around.

Character, friendship, teamanship(probably spelt wrong) and things that make a good bloke and you know "jack" about this bloke.

Thats why we are not just teammates and opponents, but overall there are relationships in cricket and life built over a period of time.

So get a life and move on.

F.O.S

On another note, you need to ask around about the mighty F.O.S and how he took two spectacular catches on the weekend.

In Venoms words, i was sensational, just ask me. lol

Really even after costing you guys a spot in the Grand Final!
I suspect he would have to get on his knees when he returns and shows his face after that terrible dropped catch.

Yeah expensive but i would still only need to use 2 coins to purchase, one 20cent and a 5cent and i could read all your terrible stats, but the one that would be in bold type is your dropped catch costing your side a spot in a GF... Anyway i hope your positive outlook keeps you going for next season, have you though about buying a catches mit for next year???

Re: MMVCA General Cricket Chat

Back onto the grand final guys.

Interesting to note that glenroy where desperate not to play last week even though the pitch wasnt all that bad.

Lets hope those negative thoughts dont enter their heads this week when the game does get under way.

Question here people. Would you rather play a grand final and lose, or win by default due to weather or some other mishap?

My thought would be, unless your west coburg and finished clearly top of the table, then getting a walkover would be an extremely hollow victory.

You cant look back and say, "rememebr that grand final we won together", oh actually we should have won but we did not play due to weather.

This has nothing to do with glenroy, just a personal opinion on gf effected by

just my 2 cents lads

Deano, it's a hard one because there is always a chance that in march it could happen. I guess that's why you strive to finish top 2, having said that I would think catching up with your premiership team mates would be far more enjoyable with stories of the day to relive. Apparently makes the beer taste colder especially out of the premiership cup. Good luck to glenroy and St Andrews on the weekend, at 6.05pm on Sunday one of those sides will be tasting it.

Deano, i don't know who you are or who you having been speaking with, but i have never read anything further from the truth, 'We were desperate not to Play'. How in the hell do you come to this conclusion? The umpires called the game off, not the captains, and defintely not Glenroy CC. Are you aware of this? Dave Jolley requested we remain at the ground for as long as possible, which we did. Glenroy CC did not make any comment as to whether the days play should be abandoned, this decision was down to both umpires, Pat Campbell & Al Taylor.

Our team was just as keen to get on the field as were St Andrews, but being the biggest game of the season, do you want it to be decided by the toss of a coin? Now let's get on thing straight. Were you there? Did you see the wicket first hand? or are you getting second hand information? The wicket was not consistent, and could be construde as being dangerous for some of the bowlers, in particular Wardy, Sean Pipe and Paul Newton, as they all hit the crease as hard as anyone in our comp.

Sunday was one of, if not, the most frustrating days of cricket (or not cricket) that i have been involved with, and that goes for the rest of our team as well. I am sure that the St Andrews players felt the same.

Yes you are correct in saying that a premiership would not be the same if won by way of higher ladder position. Let's just hope the weather holds off this weekend and the game finally gets underway.

Some people on this forum make ridiculous comments, Deano, yours in just one example of that.

Re: MMVCA General Cricket Chat

I would take a hollow victory any day. To play all year, finish on top & have the coin toss cost you the game in any final is not good for cricket either.

I agree with you butterfingers if you finish on top of the ladder, but neither team did finish on top and i dont think Glenroy would wanna win that way anyway. And they should be confident they have been the best team since christmas.

At least the weather forecast will allow for a fair contest & good drinking weather for spectators!!:)

I did say, in reference to west coburg that it would be harsh.

Although, if your referring to the first final, wests would have taken 230 on any track.

Referring to the other game played.
The main issue I have is that their is no real advantage for finishing higher on the ladder with the current rules. The top side puts the covers down, takes the covers off, marks the lines, does the pitch report on all days & then doesn't even get to call the coin toss.

Anyway the best team will win on the weekend & the others can please themselves!!
