So you don't think i'll get 400 hay, , I no for a fact you have not seen me bat. Actually no one saw me bat this year.
I may have been a run machine in a previous life or FFNB may be on the mark, I may be just a fat old no good park cricketer.

And as far as the bet goes for slab, I think your on stop credit as I believe I have one every bet we have had this year and the boys in black suits may be coming for ya!!!!!

I as a proud St Mary's Player can say that we at St Mary's are a tight unit and we all did agree on mad monday to get on this site and bag each other as we have done and you shouldn't always believe what you read...

Harry (Shane Harris) always says he is/going to retire but he has made more comeback's than John Farnham has made comeback tours....

I can say 90% of our senior side will play on next year with 1 or 2 good inclusions and i can say that we will be as hungry as ever for that flag that we have missed out on the last 2 seasons so a warning to all sides as the Carlton membership drive says you know were coming..

Little side note Kingy will make 400+ runs next season if not he owes me a slab of Jim beam cans if he does i owe him slab of Ouzo.

Can you let me no the 10% that are not playing.

So your scared to take the bet on? I will pay next time i see you... If you turned up to mad monday you would of had it then plus i will just win it back next time you hold a cards night.....[/QUOTE

Have I ever not accepted a bet, I think not. I bet the boys that showed up on Monday were the guy's that were tucked in bed by 10.30pm sunday night. From what I have been told there were 2 guys that did not make it on Monday and from what I can remember these 2 guys are the only 2 who had a crack on the sunday night.
The St.Mary's fairy's were out on the sunday night. Unlike urself a couple of us were on the drink well into monday morning. If I remember correctly they would only serve me the breakfast menu at maccas when I was leaving crown (no fat jokes regarding maccas please).

Correct on both counts mate. We would have batted and bowled on that no question. Played on heaps worse. I am sure St Marys could have done the same last weekend but we are here to play cricket, or in my case try to play and often fail.

Maybe "desperate" was not the right phrasing, but i stand by the comment overall.

I never intimated that someone specifically said they did not want to play. Hey, it was just the feeling i got, maybe i was wrong. Just another personal opinion which every has a go at.

My opinion is that i would rather play a gf and lose then win by weather. As in, if we where top of the ladder and somehow given the option for a definate premiership by walkover or to take the gamble to playgf, i would say play everytime.

Most would disagree but we play cricket to play under all sorts of conditions and usually the best team will prevail.

Anyway, its a mute point anyway, with 150 overs this week the game will get a result but glenroy would have to be red hot favorites.

ps. far be it for me to defend st marys, as i am not there most favoured competitior, but surely we realise that they where taking the piss out of each other as a gag like the majority of posts on this site. (mine included)

Quite obvious why Foxtel costs so much, when you have all the time to write this dribble.

Make some runs and win this final in two days.

I tell you what though if you can make over 60 runs next year il will buy you 2 drinks.;)

Deano, of St Andrews had finished higher on the ladder would you have wanted to play. Obviously you guys would know the ordinary conditions rules and would know a draw if fine!!!!!!!!!

Me, Tuffers, Zimmer, Anna and Narelle were at Crown long after you got dragged out of there young fella, and we were definately there drinking on Monday until 8pm.

I cant recall seeing you there on Monday.:p

Maybe FFNB can let us in on how Mad Monday went for him??? Pretty lonely by yourself i would guess.

And that extra 10% FFNB, would definately be taken up by your mother.

I do believe that after we parted company, your crew went and played poker for 5 minutes until a certain keeper was asked to leave due to his bad language in the poker room.
Yet my crew went up stairs to the nightclubs and partied all night long into the weee hours of Monday morning.
I did not go on Monday because of the following reason, you guys went to the races at moonee valley and to be honest I hate the races thats why i didnt go. If you had of went to a pub to drink I would have been there for sure, but the races please.
By the way how are St.Andrews looking.

I still love you Kingy. Your still Australia's best ever 'C' Turf batsmen!!

How are you Ben?

If you don't make runs in the ones you go back to the two's and do your best mate. Thats all you can do.
Remember practice makes perfect.

Re: MMVCA General Cricket Chat

Ok lets get back to some cricket talk. You St Mary's guys seem to have hi-jacked this site somewhat of late and deflected interest away from what should be a cracking Grand Final. It seems you finally want to show a bit fight long after it was necessary :

Anyway my predictions for the Final are :

* Glenroy to bat first and be humbled for 180 after batting purely to protect their wickets

* Newton to do damage early and knock over the prized-one Parker cheaply

* St Andrews to reach the total 5 down with Marinos and Tapner the principal contributors

* One of the Pipes to find his name in the umpires books by games end

* Shane Harris to make his way home in a divisional van after consuming 4 cans of full-strength beers throughout the course of the afternoon

and

* Johnny Grant to drop his Scotch and Coke on the way back from the bar

Anyway fellas, thats it from me. Hope its a good contest and good luck to those involved...
