Mate, to be honest, i couldnt care less who you are, or what you have done, or where you have played.Im on here to talk about cricket.

Confirmed news that Brad Hunter has been appointed captain/coach of St Marys cricket club for 2007/08.

Also, just wondering how many sides clubs are looking at having for this season.@|

Is that the same Brad Hunter that threw pies at East Brunswick and lives in the shadow of McGann.

He apparently won the batting in the old CDCA before the merger.

I think my last year in the comp was the first year of the merge. but I could be wrong.
Soacials beat St Andrews in both A & B grade finals.

Re: mmvca

Anyone attend or know any news from the delegates meeting on Wednesday night? Gradings would have been released at this meeting.:)
Just interested in any changes with 'A' Turf and what grades Sunshine YCW have been put in.

I was there mate, and no gradings have been done yet. I think its because some clubs havent finalised their grounds yet.

Also, in conjuction with Cricket Victoria, there will be a big 20/20 tourney that will run thru the summer, with the two best clubs playing a 20/20 final on the mighty MCG!

Our team will come from the region 10 area, which includes the VTCA, NWCA and the MMVCA.

The MMVCA are looking to ressurect their own 20/20 comp, prob before and after xmas.

The merger with NWCA is not dead and buried as first thought, but i think we will hear more about it as the season progresses.

And, the umpires have negotiated a payrise that has been approved. I think the A turf has increased from $100( for 1 umpire) to $110(for 1 umpire).

Re: mmvca

Have any of the teams organised practice games yet?

Im from a Williamstown Comp local club, located in yarraville, looking to organise a practice game against two senior sides. Hoping to field two teams made up of A&B turf players and a 2nd team made up of 2nds & 3rds players.
Willing to travel or play home on a matting wicket at McIvor reserve.

Possible dates include
16 Sept Sunday
30 Sept Sunday
May be able to organise on a Saturday if we get enough numbers.

We have a annual practive match locked in with Melton Centrals each year, rotating the playing venue. Could possible do a similar deal.

Pm me if anyone is interested
cheers
good luck for the comming season

Sorry WDCA, can't help you. we've already locked in our two practice matches.

No probs mate, good luck in your preparations.

As a matter of interest who have you got locked in to play against? Do you go outside your competition when trying to organise a practice game?

We always play our practice matches against sides outside our association. Would need to check who we are exactly playing but I know its one against a team in the NWCA and one from the Jika.:)

Re: mmvca

I was wondering if Albion C.C from the VTCA made any approach to the association? I was of a belief they were looking to play elsewhere. However according to the VTCA fixures 07/08 it has them in the VTCA.

They might have spoken to the association but I'm not sure, but there was never any formal application put in to enter the MMVCA. We would have heard of that at the AGM.
