No doubt Sammy Scibberas would have been involved!! Its the only thing he can do, we wll know he cant bat/bowl/field!!

You get to training twice a week and train as hard as you can and work on your game.

The more you practise the better player you will become. Just keep working in the nets and it will come, your captain will look at your bowling and think this bloke is putting in maybe we would should give him a crack.


There is no shame in dropping a grade and maybe having a bowl at a lower standard, this is were you will gain confidence and then you can attack the big boys.

I believe in you son, keep up the good work.

Those teams in charge of covers this week should be ashamed of themselves. All we want to do is play cricket and we get let down by those who do not take enough care in putting the covers on if at all. Lift your game blokes> My boys included!!!

I would also like to officially write West Coburg off this season.

Kingy i hope you are getting a bowl before the gnome..... A gun player like you should not go to waste in the field;)
Although the gnome keeps his tongue quite close to the captains ring hole!!! By staying at that club all you are doing is dragging your name through mud. Had i known you were a mad punter i'm sure we could've caught up during the spring carnival and enjoyed a few lagers.

Our batting is inconsistent, but, we will sort it out.
We have the best bowling in the comp by miles. I havent seen an attack that is even close to ours yet. Ask the St Marys boys what they think of Adams and Appleyard.
West will def be there in March and a huge chance to win the whole thing

I wouldn't say the best bowling attack in the comp more like one of the best opening pair would be more like it. 1st and 2nd change are along way behind teams like St Andrews and you cant' expect your 2 opening bowlers to be defend 100 every week no matter how good they are

yep the redbacks are no chance!! Batting is not good enough. Guys like Roberts will never be consistent run scorers, Pas is over rated, Whiteside thinks he is better than he is. Law hasnt got any shots. I rate greenwood, he can hold them together at times. portelli is too portly. nader thinks he is never out and is slow in the field. milky is hit or miss and will never stick around. Cal is a decent bowler but never really troubles me. Barker would help out but i hear he aint commin back.

all in all not good enough this season. sorry Jonty, maybe in a few years time!!

oh and there is no tars to carry all u guys that hurts. poor guy must have left due to a sore back and shoulders!!

Nah, in fairness our batting should be questioned...we are questioning it ourselves, but, I have no doubt we will sort it out and be fine.
Anyone that thinks beating us is or will be an easy task is delusional....and I KNOW our attack is the best in the comp.....by a fair way too. But again like you thats just an opinion.
I question anyone to show me a better attack in this comp

Geez wal05 a bit harsh on a couple of the boys there. Your observations on Nader and Portelli are on the mark, their personalities are just as bad as their 'individual' batting. Milky is probably the best fighter in the team I'd say and Cal is a freak. Don't write the Redbacks off, it's redemption time!

St.Marys have a good mix of talent in their ranks this season and I'd expect them to feature prominently. St Francis are pretty young and rely on 2 or 3 to get the job done every week so will be no good come finals when the heat is on but will probably do enough to scrape into the 4. And St Andrews, despite their recent form issues, shoud be thereabouts.

A predictable top 4, I know, but cant see any real challengers to the above teams.

Jonty, once you get over the redbacks love affair you'll realise that the sides who are not quite as good are not far behind. you shoot your mouth off yet when questioned you either don't respond or change the subject! Let's hope that being there in March isn't code for being on your cricket trip in Bendigo:D Your a goose Jonty and as I've said before get your head out of your Jonty long enough to see past West Coburg. The boys from St Mary's were kind with their words but also said that the wicket was ordinary, let's see how the MMVCA's answer to Lillee & Thompson go after Xmas.

i would say after facing newton and wernam and the boys from st. andrews that they are as good if not better. but thats just my opinion. who would you take in your team appleyard costelo or newton.

i have encountered appleyard and costello on a few occasions but only newton on 3 or 4 and i would take newton in my team as a bowler only. appleyard hasnt troubled me a great deal and is easy to fend off. costelo can be dangerous but lacks support so is easy enough to see off and then take advantage of the other bowlers. newton gets great support from scotty.

All are about par,and quality bowlers but Adams is bowling better than any A grade bowler atm.
he is bowling genuinely quick, for extended spells and getting movement off the pitch and swing.
Add barker who will be back after xmas with appleyard and greenwood, who bowls very tight and whiteside who ALWAYS gets wickets and it is easily the best attack in the comp.
the only attack that comes near is St Andrews which is also quality IMO.

i got that from the mouthes of al taylor and even gary himself on saturday at our game.

brett reported gary and wants him suspended for 'misconduct' or some crap like that... apparently he is writing a letter into the umpires committee.

brett reported gary and wants him suspended for 'misconduct' or some crap like that... apparently he is writing a letter into the umpires committee.
