Money Shield 2013/2014

I think you'll find that most the sides that batted first this week are pretty ordinary batting sides.

Lower Plenty will be very happy with 226. Runs on the board. Anyone down there last weekend? What sort of spirits was that game played in?
Popped down there for a look on Saturday and the game seemed to be played in good spirit. I did notice Monty's opening bowlers combined age came to 82 which is a worry. Steve Smith played against his old club and was bowling half rat pace and struggling to hit the pitch, it was sad to see a great guy like Steve bowling half trackers followed by full bungers that didn't hit the pitch and his second spell was worse. If they didn't have Whale bowling nearly unchanged from one end they would be in all sorts of trouble. The run chase should be interesting but I would imagine the grass would be cut this week,it was very slow.

Hurstbridge in major strife. They have 4 imports all of which don't seem to care/want to be playing for the club, there older players are sub standard and they're kids are miles behind some others going around the comp at that age. You have to question the thought process of the club to invest so heavily in imports at the apparent cost of raising the new generation of cricketers.

Agree. They probably invested to keep themselves in Money Shield. But is has cost them development wise. The formula doesn't change, if you don't develop and promote your juniors time will catch up with you in the end. Especially when the cash runs out. Feel a bit for Hurstbridge though, not exactly a growth area.

WOW.....drop a few games and the world is going to end, yep going through a bit of a rough patch on field ATM, but the boys will work through it and hopefully find some form in the next few weeks, Should probably do a bit more homework though 580, we have got four 16 yr olds who have been regular players in our A grade for the past 2 seasons, with hopefully another to debut next game if he overcomes an injury, unfortunately can't turn them into superstars overnight, but they are on the right track.
And no need to feel for us mate, we'll keep rolling on.

With 4 imports and 5 sixteen year olds, you reckon you're going alright?
Of course we are disappointed at where we are at on field ATM, we've been shithouse, but you referred to the development and promotion of our kids, just giving you the facts, also we have 3 imports, even though Crowie does now live in Diamond Creek he doesn't need a Visa to travel up the road.

Where did Bodhisha end up this year? He was a serious player.
Kas spent the winter in the UK on a massive County contract, he's been doing a bit of travelling since their season finished, your right, can play, got found out a bit on our pitches though, liked the ball coming onto him a lot more, kept getting out to slow half trackers.

Your not one of those grumpy old men that sits at the bar are you? I hear that their building an airport at hurstbridge so the imports can fly in and out every weekend. Just what squeak heard while playing bare foot bowling on Friday night. Sqquuuueeeaaaaaaaaaakkk!

You know what county cricket is, yeah?

I remember hurstbridge had almost no juniors a few years back so I think they are probably still getting their house in order a bit. (ie guys 16-18) not as many 18-22? That will take time.

Few not playing this year or this game? Apart from the NE loss they've lost to good teams, albeit easily. I'd guess they have a better post Christmas. Need to win a few soon though, otherwise before they know it they're in a relegation battle.

By comparison I think Camrea and SM are in more strife.

What a game. Sth morang 159. Wanderers 5/40 and 9/135. Scores level and a run out opportunity but the bails were knocked off before ball arrived. Then aussie mann hits winning runs. Stiff morang but well lead and showed gd spirit. Gd game, well umpired!

Absolute flog. Just leave the valley for good snowy. Your an average umpire like you were an average cricketer and a much less than average bloke. Your a pest on here like you were on SEN. Just hope that tongs doesn't end up like Schwarz.
