SBW: Where are Hester & Clarke going? Assume if Anderson goes to BPH, he won't be 'keeping as Hassett is capt/coach?

I'm pretty sure Hester is keen to head to City with Mills.
I spoke to Duppa (Clarke0 at the pub last night and he seemed pretty sure he'd be having a year off and whack a few golf balls around on a Satdy morning. I'm pretty sure Ando will be keeping if he goes to BPH

who are those lower grade players??

Benny Connolly is coming over as long as he gets cleared and there is a few others not sure on exactly who, all I heard was a few lower grade players were keen to move on from NDCC to us.

Well a lot of you guy's are pretty good mates away from cricket, so only makes sense, whether or not that happens in the current climate, time will tell. Certainly going to test the league rules as it was implemented to take the heat off the GCA itself and make the club look like arse holes if clearances are knocked back because of relegation.

I'd be surprised if NDCC cleared all these players and I guess so they shouldn't, the first priority must be to field 4 sides. Time will tell what happens.

How are things in terms of recruiting? and has anyone been appointed as coach? yourself included?;)

No recruits as yet, I suppose that, a bit of effort has been focused on departures as I'm sure you would appreciate mate, recruiting well probably missed the boat but will try a few guys' as for me, I'm willing to assist in what ever capacity that is required. 1st choice would be recruit outside coach, ;)

Will be interesting to see how this clearance issues goes at NDCC so far we have.

D.Koliba
C.Ford
K.Ford
J.Harrison
S.Harrison
N.Clarke
C.Hester
R.Mills

all either moving on or having the season off.

I doubt Ando will stay with his cousins gone so he'd be almost certain to want to go to BPH now.

I know there is a few lower grade players wanting to come to play with St Albans this season.

I think Newcomb may have to just look at recruiting an outside coach and start fresh and build up again like they once did through Skinny and others years ago.

Good luck to Spud and H. I wish they and Ando came back to Thomson when I was there 5 or 6 years ago but ahh well they're back now

newcomb should just clear all these players, that club is run by one person the president he never uses his commitee in making decisions, so maybe he should have a look at stepping down . i might of left on bad terms 2 seasons ago ... but for spud and shane to leave something must b very wrong at newcomb , maybe people should stop pointing the finger at people that have left and start pointing it at the people that run the club.

I don't think he would be going unless he was keeping wouldn't you think?

Know All, point taken, the club is having it's AGM around 24th June, I'm lead to believe that there is going to be a new President in EJ, he is keen to do it has the numbers of support and has the right direction for the club to move forward again. He like me, has got a strong view that we were better off rebuilding from the back end of Divy 1, where our current Pres thought it was best we go backwards, HOW WRONG he was and is, but what is done is done.

I have personal opinions about clearances, but I'm only one voice. But to have so many wanting to leave for different reasons, well we are entitled to talk to these guys first, personally the recruits that were at the club will be cleared - they were never going to be life members, just like the much traveled Know All, :D As for Spuda and Haz, Spuda I've spoken to and over the last several seasons has not had the passion and only played becuase Skinny was involved in coaching roles (should have had a season off) Haz hasn't played for a couple of years and only played 1 game last year to help me out (in which he broke his toe). He wants to play with his brother Spud. I can't see them not being cleared after the service they have given the club (my opinion only)

I know you had left on bad terms, I don't know the in and outs of it and I don't care too. You have got people at the club who admire you and respect you and I believe are good mates, it is shame about a small majority.

I haven,t heard anyone that is pointing the finger at guys who left, but I agree that a change in direction from off field is in order and that is going to happen. NDCC will survive, last year was the hardest with the ground out the whole year - we did the best we could under the circumstances. All Saturday games with a home ground every week this coming season will be an entirely different atmosphere for the club as a whole.

not looking forward to that game, fair chance he will kill someone

Well there you go SBW, Millsy has one for none already. You think these guys have never seen a quick bowler before. Just imagine facing him a few years ago when he had NO shoulder problems???? You've done a brilliant job marketing your team SBW congrats on that. But you should be in DIVY 2, only a matter of time. :D

hmmm interesting, hassett in my opinion is the best gloveman in geelong. but he might step down and just bat, he has before when sellsy kept.

But then they swapped back and Sells started bowling his little dippers. If memory serves me correct he actually took a hat-trick his first season at the bowling crease.

yes he did, it was against South Barwon, and gladly I was not one of them. But one of the brothers was, and we get stuck into him about that constantly !! :) I think Sellsy would admit he is just part time-ish with his dippers !!

Prez, you forgot to mention that the first wicket of the three wasn't out! The ball clearly bounced before the player got his hands under it!!!! The biggest act of cheating I have seen in over 25 years of cricket! But cheating wasn't something new to BPH at the time.

Heard that Sean Arnott will be coaching AT this season. Would leave Corio in a bit of a mess if true.
