You suppose, do you? Try changing your name from I Bowl Meat Pies with a big fat mouth and don't know what I'm talking about to I'm Eating Humble Pie like the idiot that I am. If you had of left it at well done Teesdale, I wouldn't be saying anything, but you had to add the spose to make it seem like it means nothing. Yep it's divi 3 but they were the only club to win the club championship and 1sts premiership( 2nds as well) in the 3 divisions. Go the Roos

means jack sh*t to me mate.

Simple how do you no what Newcomb offered him. I no exactally what was offered by us, and mate let me tell you, it was half of what you offered. We couldnt compete with what you blokes offered and thats fine. He is now at St.albans.

That's pretty funny:D

What if they;

a) Scrapped the salary cap altogether because it obviously doesn't work.
or
b) Start a points system up where players are rated some how with points. I'd say you'd have to have 1 club players exempt from points.

like the second option, our 1st are mostly made up of 1 club players makes winning premierships all the more sweeter!!

Re: New club Coaches/Captains/Players for 2009/10

Wasnt a bad call about Millsy, his a good bloke, but thank god his out of the BPCA that would of been dangerous for all concerned, he is lightning, and if he gets it right will kill someone, haha....

There is no way Buchanan or Muller will play at Newtown this year, both Leo and Bluey are heavily tied up at GCC and are also involved in the rockets and state trainings so it wouldnt be likely of them leaving.....

Re: New club Coaches/Captains/Players for 2009/10

so the question remains unanswered, What does millsy do if st albans are forced to play div 3 ? Cmon boys, it must have been talked about or you already know where ya playing. surely millsy would not sign up to a club if he did not know what division they were going to play. the only way he would do that is if the bucks were that big it didnt matter, and your pres would not spend bucks that big just to win a div 3 flag. so im tipping you have been told div 2. WE WANT ANSWERS !!!!!!!!! Been told to stay quiet so div 3 clubs dont bark up about new boys going straight to div 2 id say.

We haven't been told what division we'll be going in, but having a guess I'd say they'll put us in div3. If that happens I'd say we will be a big chance to have another season in the BPCA (because our club wants to play the best standard it can)- (but I don't know just guessing), and Millsy will be coaching regardless.

I don't think anyone in GCA can question Millsy for coming to us, he's played VCA cricket for most of his cricket life and I'd say has nothing to prove to anyone in the GCA.

And just on people saying we have to prove ourselves in div3 where does this stem from???
Before this season the GCA took on the SLCA clubs because they had nowhere to go so this made div3. Before that the GCA had just two divisions, most of these div3 clubs wouldn't be interested in being promoted except Guild IMO. Without trying to be bias wouldn't the best thing for the GCA to be at it's strongest be to have all div 1 & 2 turf only and the hard wicket clubs make up div3?

Few questions:

1. Does the BPCA have a club championship?

2. Will the BPCA accept a turf wicket in it's Association?

3. Is BPCA a better standard than GCA Div 2?

1.They don't have an official club championship.

2.I don't know if the BPCA will let us play on turf, maybe another year at Breakwater:(

3.I wouldn't say it's better, having played in both I'd say the top few in the BPCA are as good as the top sides in GCA2.

I know you didn't compare div3 but A good gauge to the BPCA being a lot stronger than GCA3 would be:

When Jan Juc entered the BPCA a few years ago after dominating the SLCA they struggled to win 2-3 games.
The same thing has happened with Barrabool and Anglesea they were so dominate in the SLCA (now GCA3) and neither side in the first couple of years has really got anywhere near the finals.

Jan Juc finished 6th this year and played finals for the first time in the 4 years they've been in the BPCA.

I'm wondering if the gap between div3 & div2 is that big (between top teams in the 1sts) with Guild playing in Div3 GF this year and in Div2 last year with almost the same side. I'm not saying we'd dominate div2 or 3 all I'm saying is we'd be competitive in all grades in div2.

Re: New club Coaches/Captains/Players for 2009/10

If it was a choice between GCA3 and BPCA, why would you choose to play in the BPCA? Wouldn't this set back your goal of playing in a GCA turf league back another year? If the GCA want you to go through division 3, then waiting another year isn't going to make much difference (Unless of course GCA3 disappears and the clubs go back to SLCA, which is what you may be banking on).

That makes sense and the club prob aren't thinking about going back to BPCA it's just my opinion. GCA3 isn't a turf league at all really, the finals are hard wicket and the only team that have turf are Guild (who will more than likely go up).
I think the GCA3 will be lucky to last three seasons at the most, so that was my thinking.

I just can't see why we should be held back for having a go, if a club is prepared to do all the work to get a turf wicket in and meets all the criteria regarding facilities, juniors, fiances etc. What do people want to know?.... are we going to be good enough? some people forget it's not the IPL it's just GCA div2.

I guess we'll have to wait and see, but I'm not confident of going into div2.

I hear Marshel and Corio may be headed for gca3 also. Newcomb or newtown down for thomson. Im also told the thommy are quite happy where they are. So who nows what the gca is thinking! Remember last year I think Highton where promoted and they told the gca they didnt want to go up and they didnt.

i thought the BPCA said they wouldnt have a turf club in their leauge! As you guys where hopefull of getting onto your ground late in the season Is that true.
If you have turf you should be in the gca, as for where the powers that be will decide that. My view is that the bellerine is better standard than gca3. But if thats where they want you to start, you just have to go in there and be successful and win a flag or two and have your house in order, and the rest will look after itself.

One up, one down. That's what the GCA told the clubs before the season. They are very beholden to their club assessment system and there's very little chance SABCC would go straight to GCA2. If SABCC want to get to GCA2, I'd say they can only do so thru GCA3 so staying in BPCA would not help their cause.

My guess is that the GCA will attempt to slowly rationalise GCA3 over the next couple of years due to the huge disparity between good and bad in that division. No way the better GCA3 clubs would want out, so GCA3 will be around for a while yet I'd say. No doubt that BPCA is stronger than GCA3 and on a par with GCA2 but that's beside the point.

I douby playing GCA3 would faze Millsy; I think he'd just about used up all his credits at GCC and would have been looking for a suitable local gig. Also agree with "Brad Hogg" that Buchanan and Muller would be very unlikely to leave GCC for Newtown & Chilwell - confirmed by a couple of well-placed GCC guys last week.

All great stuff to speculate over - my bet is NDSC down for Thomson or Manifold, and Corio down for God knows who. Guild Saints seem a bit friendless at GCA at the moment - I used to think they were good things for GCA2 promotion but now not so sure.

Surely Thomson wouldn't do a Highton and decline if offered a spot in GCA1? They've made all the right noises and apart from a bad first session in the 1sts GF last weekend, have done pretty much everything right.

Re: New club Coaches/Captains/Players for 2009/10

the GCA should assess Stalbans according to their system, if they meet the criteria for div2, put em in, they will be good enough no doubt. dont make em play div 3 just to suit the other sooks in div 3 that want to go up. the best teams should play div 1, the next best 12 turf teams div 2 , the rest in what ever league suits. GCA need to stop licking eveyrones arse and realize they are a turf league and thats it. let other leagues look after themselves. wouldnt even be discussing all this if they just stuck to turf cricket years ago instead of trying to be the almighty saviour for others mess. it has just made it worse, the standard has suffered because of it, prove me wrong, you cant coz its true and everyone on here will agree. and can we please get rid of the gay mature dating adverts, its really pissing me off

Re: New club Coaches/Captains/Players for 2009/10

-Thomson up & Newcomb down
-Corio down and possibly no-one up
-St Albans-Breakwater into Div 2.

Guild-St Marys to stay where they are for the immediate future. They were dropped to get their house in order. They still have no juniors from what i am aware and didn't win club championship. They have turf but i think even that is only co-incidental. The GCA would be loathe to put them back up to Div 2 just because they have turf.

Apologize for the delay in my response, been out celebrating. Hey dickhead, I'm more than happy to shove the club championship, premiership wherever you want me too. Simply, I was part of them both and have access to them(go Nth).
Yep your right I have slagged a few over my 3 seconds on the site, might be from the fact that while you were in nappies, I watched and played against the clubs I've had a go at for their general lack of integrity and morals, but they turn up here with great self promotion and holier than now attitudes, like yours. But I didn't realise this was a suck everyone off forum. No doubt there are actually real sites for that. I'm sure you can give me the web details. Hate having my own opinion
