New Zealand in Australia

Re: New Zealand in Australia

Australia won by 149 runs. Taylor scored 75 and Vettori made 10. Chris Martin was the last man out for 1 with the Kiwis all out for 177.

Johnson cleaned up the tail, finishing with figures of 5/39 which earnt him the Man of the Match award for his nine wicket match.

The second and final test begins on Friday in Adelaide.

Re: New Zealand in Australia

can someone tell me wheres the experienced batsmen in the NZ side there appears to be lots of youngsters, Wheres people like Lou Vincent, Fulton, Marshall? I think NZ still put up a good fight with the Aussies despite the inexperience

Re: New Zealand in Australia

Australia have been fined again for their slow over-rate. Ponting lost 30% of his match fee whilst all the other Australian players lost 15%.

Ponting and friends fined again after more slow-over rates

Fulton got injured and then his form deserted him so hasn't been able to get back into the side. He was recently named captain of New Zealand "A" to tour India so he isn't far off.

Vincent joined the ICL so lost his contract with New Zealand.

Hamish Marshall refused a New Zealand contract in 07/08 so he could keep playing county cricket as a local player. James Marshall is still thereabouts, played in the test series against England but struggled against the swing. Like Fulton, he wouldn't be too far away from getting a spot in the side again.

Fulton's in the squad for the second test so he might be a chance to play if the continued failures by the NZ top order become a regular occurance.

Hayden will be given the test series v SAf as well.

Then you might lose Rogers.

I'm backing Hayden to have a big one at the Adelaide Oval and then as always on Boxing Day.

Krejza in doubt with ankle injury

The offspinner Jason Krejza is in doubt for the second Test against New Zealand in Adelaide after suffering an ankle injury at training. Krejza limped off the Adelaide Oval with the assistance of the Australia team physio Alex Kountouris following a mishap during a fielding drill.

Read that Krezja could be in doubt with a bit of an ankle injury.....

Dangerous Australia going in with a 4 man pace attack with some part-timers on the Adelaide pitch

Could Cam White be called up?

Re: New Zealand in Australia

LOL, no, it'd have to be Beau Casson, wouldn't it? Surely they wouldn't put C-C-Cam White in?

Re: New Zealand in Australia

They better not put White in, we need him in India and our first match is the day after the test is due to end
