i agree - gunbats/bowlers used 2 frequently....certain players maybe guns inside their clubs but i think the buck stops there.
gunbat.....most probably shep and markham from gladdy who consistantly make bagful of runs each season and bowlers...thomas was.
i c that there is a pool of thought that ccc will do well this season and i must admit im 1 of them. they mite not have gun bats but i just think that they have a consistant lineup that will cause damage 2 opposition bowling lineups. they also have a decent bowling lineup which may include a gun bowler but we cannot go off 1 season so only time will tell i guess.
as far as stats go....i dont really care how good players have been.....i look at the present because that is wot will win u games and ultimately a luscombe shield flag.
i read an interesting article from terry scott....pretty much reckons a 1 horse race this season with gladdy - i think this season will b very interesting but do agree gladdy r the team 2 beat.
by far gladdy and taylors hav been the 2 standout teams in luscombe shield of late so its up2 the rest of the comp 2 close the gap.
on a personal note....how r those injuries going down at ccc - they could muck my top 4 tips up.

gladdy and taylors have stood out not only cause they have the better players but they have/had the best ''TEAM''........individuals dont win flags......''TEAMS'' DO........hence why gladdy havnt won a flag over the last few seasons.........

I agree with all this talk about the over use of the term gun I do however think that Thomas was a gun, as much as we criticise him for bowling to many overs at the end of the day you have to be a gun to be bale to bowl that many overs consistently. Being a good bloke has nothing to do with being a gun.

I also think that our Markham is a gun and if he isnt then I dont think there are any guns in our comp as he has been imo consistently the best bat since he arrived in the North West

i totally agree with u gladyboy - u hit the nail rite on the head.
cant wait 4 the season 2 start will b hotly contested i think.
does any1 else hav tips 4 round 1 and their top 5 batsmen/bowlers 4 this upcoming season.

12 th man agree .

to many players get the tag of gun bats when they are far from it .

gun bat ?

simple , the players that make runs when it counts . big games and finals .

half the games during the season are meaningless . unfortunately the comp. is in a situation where you basically pencil in wins before a ball is bowled in anger .
markham from taylors perfect example . steps up at money time .

total season runs ?
if you are a half decent player , not just a gun ,bat in the top order and have 14- 16 hits during season , no reason why you shouldnt get 500 .
last season they played upto 9 one day games .
only top 3-4 bats have chance to get most runs .

way to many players get the gun tag when they are just honest local nwca players . someone that has played at a higher standard standouts out big time .

they say ccc are a big show this season . have they got any gun bats ?
who are the guns ?

you'l get different names every time . changes from club to club . as per previous entry some havent got any idea what a gun is .

CCC dont have any so called gun bats but with a bit of luck we might have
3 or 4 blokes to hit 400 runs plus
3 or 4 blokes to hit 300 runs plus
2 or 3 blokes to hit 200 plus
if this happens then we should do ok and dont require a GUN bat!
Give me a team of good local cricketers who have ability and a bit of balls about them and who want to play as a team anyday.
This term gun bat, is he the guy that bats at 3 and makes 500 runs or is he the guy that comes in at 7 and makes 275 including 4 half tons,in quick time and wins you 3 games off his own bat?
or is he the guy that bats at 5 and holds down one end and ends up on 30 or 40 not out while the stroke makers score around him?
or is he ther guy who bats at 9 and makes 180 runs at an average of 20 and never throws his wicket away?
You teams out there this season that have a couple of gun bats good luck to you and we will see just how you all go.
Give me that no 7 and no5 and no9 as i have mentioned and we will win more games than we lose!!
Keep your guns and we,ll breed 4 or 5 bats with a bit of ticker and love playing for the club.

We have lost Fackler and Wes, so it will be interesting personally I dont think it will be a walk in the park especially early on the year. Our best 11 when all playing is pretty good but Im not to sure about the quality of our depth after that.

Remeber to get all your tips in lads before round 1 for the tipping comp!

Best of luck to all guys in all grades for the weekend hopefully the rain stays away and we get up, I think something like 5 out of the last 6 times we have played Paccoe rain was prevented play.

I must admit I was worried that you could be right especailly after talking to your sec and getting told that roadblocks were up but then I spoke to the greatest CEO ever in Mr Terry Scott who informed me that we chamged our laws to line up with other comps and we no longer require clearances from players outside the NWCA.

So my friend he will playing Its ironic the only way you could have prevented him leaving is by merging, now the gloves are off and all the NWCA clubs will be approaching your boys.

Campbellfield Cricket Club requires females over the age of 13 for our one day team.

No experience necessary, coaching and equipment are provided.

Currently our team have girls aged from 13 to 46 however age is no barrier.

Days of play are Sunday afternoon and our home ground is Seth Raistrick Reserve.

Our club prides itself on being well prepared so have taken the liberty of running a fully stocked canteen and bar facilities for you and your members to enjoy.

The canteen will be serving a variety of foods such as chicken nuggets, fish and calamari, amongst other things all served with chips in a snack box. Steak sandwiches, Hot Dogs,

Hamburgers, Schnitzel Rolls, Dim Sims and Hot Chips. Not forgetting the kids (and those big kids at heart) we have assorted Chocolate Bars, Potato Chips and Ice Creams.

You can replenish your thirst with a great variety of Soft Drinks, Sports Drinks or Water. Alcoholic Beveridge’s are available if you are over 18 years of age.

FACILITIES

We have made an adjustment to our game day procedure this season. To prevent any injuries to people tripping over there will NOT be any cricket bags allowed in the Main Pavilion.

We will however, have the Pavilion known as Bay 13 open for your convenience to change into your uniforms and to place your cricket bags in.

Everyone is welcome to use our main Pavilion for Afternoon Tea, to use the amenities (a disabled toilet is available) and also to enjoy after match socialising.

We look forward to sharing our venue with you and wish everyone the best for the 2009/2010 season

big beasty would love the greazy chips with 25 calamari rings 2 pieces of flake 3 schnizel rolls and 4 h/burgers with the lot........and 2 top it off with 3 cans of coke.......with a bottle of water for a chaser.......lol

hot dogs would have to be the only healthy thing there if it is........
