If you are going to pick the side based on this year and this year only for me its easy.

Telford -best opener in the comp
Camilleri -on form so far this year has Hackneys measure
Russell -one hit but one dam good hit
Markham GP- there are 2 Johnny Markhams they are both good this ones just better
Erdman- leading runscorer along with Russ
Shephard- both bat and ball best in comp IMO
Fackler-leading wicket taker in comp at and average of 10
Tripp-both bat and ball deserves his spot
Thomas- continues to take wickets
Pitts- Has an average of 13 on our 50cent piece anyone who has faced him care to disagree?
Hassan- is definetly getting tounges wagging after a few big weeks.

I know I look biased with 6 glady players but the stats so far warrant their selection

According to that team Gladdy must have this years flag all wrapped up. Most than half the rep team surely no club could bet that

CONGRATULATIONS
To
TAYLORS LAKES

for their efforts on sunday to win the region 10, 20twenty final in a round robbin day against doutta stars (vtca) and west coburg (mmvca)
this puts taylors into the top 16 20twenty teams in victoria as they progress to the next stage.
so far the scalps have been:
Clarkfield Brumbies, Strathmore, Aberfelide, Moonee Valley, Doutta Stars and west Coburg.
Lakes fielded a side with only 5 players who played 1s on saturday, a super effort against an almost full strenght west coburg (missing only 2 players from their first 11)

Highlights of the day

1st game vs doutta stars
bowling 1st doutta managed 158, Haigh 4/38.
lakes passed with an over to spare, cutajar opened up with a half century, and 29 to jamie hys to see it home 8 down

2nd game vs west coburg
batting 1st finished at 156, Morgan 80.
keeping west coburg to 130 and 9 down, wickets shared in a wonder team effort, led in the field by arnold with 4 catches and 1 stumping (while keeping up to thomas)

the lions are no longer just playing for the lakes, they are now representing the powerhouse competition known as the nwca, which is why from this point on all teams in the nwca should get on board and support the blue and yellow home.

next match tba

Hey Pooraverage - that is a crap comment.

T.Lakes - so much money?? They may be in a good position as they have 6 senior sides who all pay their memberships and play for the club unlike too many scumbags who want to play and don't pay their memberships(is that the problem at your club?). Are you one of these sad cases that sits back, does nothing and complains that your club isn't doing as well as others? You are sh*t and I pity the club you're associated with as they don't need whingers like you around keeping the place down. We all know Gladdy,Roxy & TL have good players and probably pay them. TLCC are the lucky one's who have come away with a couple of flags but it's very tight this year and anyone of the top 5 is a chance.
I am sure the recruits at CCC aren't doing it for the love of the club, Danny is paid at KGG & Hackney get's good coin at SHCC. So what, who cares?
It amazes me when someone or a team does well, Tossers like you have to give a Negative comment, probably out of Envy.
Well done to TLCC on Sunday, I wish them all the best but I'm not going to lose any sleep if they get knocked out next round

Sounds like Poor Average has hit a nerve...have to agree with him though on this occasion...

Anyone can 'buy' a flag...TL have had a lot of success and can boast about this 20/20 crap...but the whole comp knows why they are so successful. Surely as a player the premierships must feel a bit hollow...

Re: North West Cricket Association

haha yeah a big nerve....
from what i have been told from good sources is that no one gets paid at either roxy or shcc... i know hackney pretty well from years of playing against him and he doesnt play the game for coin!!!
the club that i am involved in has already got 80% of its membership paid and final payments are due by the end of the month...we put our money back into the club not to buy flags!!! so the answer is NO memberships is not a problem with m club...
Gladdy will win this years flag just because of the sheer fact there is at least 5-6 players on coin...
lakers will end knockd out of the semi but possibly win the one day flag...
so hang ur hat on that...a 20/20 (which should be more of a social game of hit and giggle) and a possible one day flag...
The TLCC product lifecycle is on the decline!!!

You must be kidding VLine, Beniwal 4 hits top score of 31 91 for season
hare 4 hits top score 35 total 93 runs
what about Mociak from Buckley 3 hits top score 110 total 155 or dosent he count because he refuses to pump himself up.

That is absolute crap you are a comedian, Im not sure about Hackney but Adrian Russell gets paid well for his services mate.

On another note good to see the boys at CCC paying their membership but I drove past your ground on both Tuesday and Thursday last week and saw 15 on the track not both nights but overall in aggregate.

mate if he is getting paid i think hes well worth it, hes a good captain coach brought a struggling side a couple of years ago to playing in a grand final, pretty good i think.

Hackney moved to SHCC last year to play closer to home. He wasn't recruited. Maybe this year he is on money but definitely wasn't last year.

That is a mighty fine effort i have to admit.
Well done and good luck ,put the nWCA on the map

Lets not get carried away mate its round 4, ask me again in 4 weeks it might have no glady players in it.

Which of my selections would you change and why?

I personally would not pick Camilleri. He is as good as any keeper in the comp and may even be the best, but he is not a free flowing bat and is better suited to longer versions of the game. Unfortunately all rep games are 1 day matches. therefore I would go with the kealba or syd-hill keepers who are close to him with the gloves but more dangerous with the bat.
Haven't seen Pitts but has only played three games. Gladdy haven't played any of the big boys yet so lets see how he is going after round 7.
Totally agree with Shephard, Markham and Fackler. Telford easily best opener in comp but isn't making the big scores he used to.

Well Done To Taylors Lakes Cricket Club. Money does not buy you games alone. The team must still be comitted and train and play hard. People have quickly forgotten where taylors lakes were 3 or 4 years ago. It is a credit to your clubs committee that you have comeback the way you have and these titles are reward for that hard work.

What a crock of shit...the only thing that the committee have done at TL is find the $$$ to pay for the players. How proud would you be playing in a premiership for them knowing that it was a 'bought' premiership...I wonder what would happen if the money dried up...Would the players hang around...I know Thomas wouldn't...

Singh - Taylors Lakes junior
Morgan - Taylors Lakes junior
Cutajar - Came to the club with Viani, Viani left, Cutajar stayed
S Lee - Taylors Lakes junior, came back to play with his brothers
Markham - Moved to the area, played for the club closest to home
Thomas - Moved to the area, Markham's brother in law
McCaffrey - Mate of S Lee
Arnold - Taylors Lakes junior
Verdoorn - Taylors Lakes Junior
Haigh - Taylors Lakes junior
Just - Taylors Lakes for 15 years
McMullin - Taylors Lakes junior
A Lee - Taylors Lakes junior
L Harrison - Taylors Lakes junior

Bought a Premiership, please.
There are four players in our last two Premiership sides that didn't play junior cricket at the club and one of those (Justy) has been through many more bad years than good.

All we've done is put in place a successful junior program, keep most of them, put a good coaching program in place and managed our funds.

All clubs have that opportunity, have a crack.

Very well said
