My predictions were all pretty right, 6 our of 7 i got. Brunswick let me down falling 25 runs of Sunshine's 186 in a suprising result.

Wow weren't there some huge scores across the subbies this weekend some amazing results.

Looks to be a year for the batsmen with the drought making the grounds that much faster it enables higher scores and more attacking batting.

what happened with melton two's mr specialist two's correspondant, YWL?
for those of us who may not have heard?
any feedback for them?

They smashed Kew.
They made 6/301 in reply to Kew's 185.
Great score another high score in a round of high scores.
I'll do a review when the scores are all updated.

In relation to the one-day shirts, no approval has been given for any shirt.

But then again, why doesn't that surprise me? And will Mr. Warner still get his cut?

Re: subbies season 07/08 & 08/09

Ok Round 2 review for the 2nds North/West.

Broady passed BOP's 114 rather comfortably with 141. As i said last week must have been another shocker of a wicket at Sewell Reserve. Hard to pick a mom but ill go with Lawson from Broady who got 3/43 and 20 valuable runs to back up from his 86 in round 1.

Coburg fell 37 runs short of Willy's 276. Wallace got 60 and the young keeper Kelly got 59, they both batted well. A cracker of a deck at Coburg which enabled good cricket. Mom goes to Nick Rainone with 35, 11 tight overs when the game was up for grabs bowling to 2 established batsmen and 3 catches.

Melton destroyed Kew making 7/301 in reply to Kew's 186. A.Kennedy got 94 and Barbour got 64. They came together at 5/126 with the game very much in the balance and they put on 126 to get the lions home. Melton look a strong side this year with Jesse Merlo batting at 8 means they have a very long batting line up and a few blokes that can roll the arm over. Mom goes to A.Kennedy with 94.

Brunswick fell 25 runs short of Sunshine's 186 in a suprising result. No Brunswick player was able to get to 50 and could only get partnerships of 20-30 going. They just needed that one player to go on and get a score. Full credit though to Sunshine who will be very happy with the win. Well done to Dave Mazzone getting 3/27 to back up from his 51in the 1st innings to get mom.

Balwyn smashed last years grand finalists Altona by 95 runs at Altona. I thought 263 was very gettable at Grant Reserve which usually is a belter of a deck but Altona could only muster up 168. Neil Birthisel got 56 in his first game up in the 2s for a while after making 70 in the 3rds last week. Well done to Carey from Balwyn getting 4/25 in a great spell of bowling. Mom goes to Kiker from Balwyn getting 65 after making 115 in round 1, what a great start to the season it has been for him.

Yarraville got over Ivanhoe by 11 runs in a close encounter. A pretty even display of bowling by the Eagles with 4 bowlers getting 2 each. Mom goes to Torre who made 104 in the 1st innings.

Preston easily accounted for Werribee getting 270 in reply to Wbee's 138. Suprisingly no one got to 50 in the match but the difference was that Preston had 4 players make 30's and 2 players get 40's which was enough to get them over the line. It shows good depth but in the coming games they would want at least two of those players to go on and get scores of over 50. Mom goes to Watkins from Preston who made 32 and got 2fa.

The completion of Round 2 sees Yarraville, Preston and Broadmedows undefeated and Ivanhoe, Brunswick and Kew without a win with everyone else 1 and 1. Bring on the first white ball coloured clothing 1 dayer in vsdca history.

GO WILLY!

I cant forget the South/East side.

Must point out the good performances.
Well done to M.Phillips from Malvern getting 138* and in the same game T.Shields from Oakleigh getting 4/78 which included a hat-trick.
Other good performances were N.McLennan getting 8/32 and 3/33 and getting 36. He takes out performance of the round.
S.Wilson from Croydon also got 103*.

While im at it, well done to Dylan Kght getting 70 backing up from his 56* in round 1 in the 1sts.
Also well done to Matt Fyfe from Croydon whot got 50 in the 1s, he batted for an hour against us in the 2s last year getting a duck so he must have improved a lot in the past year so congradulations to him.

Bit rough on Kent in only his 2nd game 150n.o and 1/13 off 10 with the new ball. Followed 40+ in the first game until he slipped and was run out!

I agree with you Brightboy.

Bowls with some pace and gives the Brighton attack a cutting edge.

Ahuh. Now i see. I did the performance of the round in the 2s. Yeh great performance by him, especially considering its only his 2nd game.

Some other great performances though, Beshara 6/70 and 27.
Afridi 10/70(2 innings) and 25.
Shaun Brown 76 and 4/31.
And Warren Patterson 5/59 and 30, what a great cricketer he has been.

Oh and D.H if your reading this hope this wasn't to long mate. But surely you are able to scroll down, its not that hard or even don't read it mate, nobody is making you.

Re: subbies season 07/08 & 08/09

Ok Round 3 in the North/West 2s:

I'm going to back Coburg to knock off Bundoora at bundoora. I think that Coburg are more of a 1 day side after watching them last week so that should suit them.

I'm Going to back our boys in against Kew. Kew have struggled in their firs couple of games and i think that us at home should get over them. Good luck boys.

I think that it is time Altona got on the board. They have struggled a bit and i think this week against Ivanhoe they can get the job done.

I think Balwyn should be to strong for Broady at home. Broady have had a good start to the year but i believe their batting lacks depth and if Lawson doesn't get a score they will struggle.

Melton should smash Wbee. After their mauling of Kew last week i would expect them to do the same to the struggling Wbee.

Yarraville would go in favourites against Brunswick this week after Brunswick were suprising loses against Sunshine. They have a lot of improving to do if they are to get over Yarraville.

Even after Sunshine's impressive win against Brunswick last week i cant see them getting over a quality Preston side.

Good luck to everyone on the weekend.
