Day 2 of the last 2 dayer coming up before finals. Rain forecast Friday night. Call me a cynic, but something is going to go down with covers this weekend. It's a perfect storm for teams needing mother nature's help!

On paper at least the top 6 would be favourites to win this week leaving Werribee and Hoppers to miss out,doesn't always work out like that though.Wonder what happened at Werribee,they had Taylors Lakes in trouble and no more play,must have had a local downpour?
Just fyi Brenton,Williamstown play at the Williamstown Cricket Ground not Burbank.
Werribee actually didn't put down the covers on the wicket on Thursday Night when it rained on Friday Morning and then go onto cover the wicket later on Friday after that it being raining in the lead-up to Saturday's second day of play for the 1st XI clash between Werribee & Taylors Lakes at Chirnside Park was the word that I did hear.

No doubt there will be plenty of Roosters backing Bayswater and Balwyn in this week. Unfortunately a washout vs Moorabbin and a loss to Endeavour could cost them a Finals appearance.
Hard to see Brighton losing to Balwyn, having said that Malvern still need to beat Elsternwick. Bayswater's outright really hurt their chances.

Was it a similar situation as posted by Brenton Ray in respect to Werribee at Chirnside Park?
Interesting that O'Meara reckons 6 new clubs are coming in.
Wouldn't be surprised if some Senior Division VTCA clubs are among them. I think the subbies need extra teams in order to have a promotion/relegation structure and, over time, may have to consider regionalisation given Melbourne's rapid growth. They should have thought about promotion and relegation years ago and now it wouldn't be a problem.Wouldn't be surprised if some Senior Division VTCA clubs are among them. He might need to consider how to save existing Clubs first before expanding. It sounds like maybe 1, possibly 2 Clubs could be exiting Subbies, meaning a top up of 2 and then to add more Clubs in. I'm not sure we want to see Subbies become a revolving door.
Each club has it's own decision to make, and it's own responsibility to ensure long term survival.
Kingston chose to move to Premier, not surprising, will work long term as Frankston and the city clubs are far enough away. Sunshine chose to go the VTCA, again not surprising, and seem to have made a fist of rebuilding. RPB chose to go to VTCA, a bit surprising, and has been a disaster. No club is in exactly the same box. No club should be denied changing affiliation if it's members believe it is in their best interests. Both Endeavour and Moorabbin have strongly indicated their aim is to stay in Subbies and hopefully that's what happens. But if they can't or chose not to it is pleasing to know that there are other clubs keen to come on board.
This whole topic is generally very repetitive and the CV/CSB trolls harp on about promotion/relegation. To me, it is there already. RPB and Sunshine relegated themselves, Kingston, St Bernards, and Hoppers promoted themselves. Having a performance benchmark of not less than 4 teams and the ability to go through list/performance cycles are valuable attributes of the Subbies model. Other lesser comps cater for mediocrity, it's OK if you can't field four sides or if any of your teams are rubbish, just drop a team or lower yourself down a grade, here is your participation ribbon, and away you go.
Subbies will continue to evolve and has a responsibility to move with trends like T20 (Dougie - Premier have had three goes at it and still can't settle on how it should work). Sunshine were slammed when their performance became so bad that missing out on the 10 points against them was shaping the final 6. No one thought it was doom and gloom for the comp when Sunshine dropped themselves to the VTCA and so nor will it be if the same fate befalls other clubs. Don't get me wrong, I hope Endeavour and Moorabbin come good but it's up to them and I am sure the VSDCA will offer them any support they can.
