The problem is there is no way he jumps in front of Boland, Neser and Morris
I dont see that as a problem as being a leftie he will jump all three if Starc goes down. I believe CA has earmarked him as Starcs replacement only if he can convince them of his fitness. They also know he wants Starcs job when he retires, which hopefully isnt that long.

I would rather we bring in Morris as a strike bowler. Having a left armer is very good but I honestly think it’s still overrated.

I’d rather bring in a bowler that we know is good in test matches than bring in someone that’s done well in the T20 side.

I’d rather we bring in Joel Paris, who is averaging 19.8 with the ball from 46 first class matches, if we really want a left armer. Assuming he stays fit.

Johnson just has not played enough shield cricket. I’m sure the class is there, but he hasn’t been practicing test match lines and lengths, doesn’t have his workloads up at all and he’s honestly a bit of an unknown quantity in long format matches.

Bummer waiting till 1pm my time for the Perth Test to start. Then it is a 3pm start the following Adelaide Pink Test. Only having a whinge as being retired I have to kill time which I dislike.

Correct on all points. Morris yes, the other pair are stop gaps and we dont need that as it is now time to blood our next generation. I am fine for Paris to be the reserve bowler for this series but they keep on picking guys who will never play much more Test cricket as it is.
