The Lounge 2

That is the question. Only via the normal PC procedure as I can shut down by pressing the button on the hard drive for about five secs.
If you don't. have anything important you need on your hard drive you might consider doing a total reset and wiping it clean and starting all over again. It's most likely an adware virus you picked up whilst surfing the net, lots of rubbish internet sites put advertising pop up viruses on your pc without you knowing it. Or you can try an antivirus software as I suggested before

What do you think of the new tunnel under the river from Rozelle Craig? My brother who lives in Rozelle says it's a disaster funnelling 4 lanes into two causing huge traffic congestion. 😒

Decades ago my brother had a home in Balmain where I could just see the Opera house from the skylight in his top floor bedroom. 🙃

Craig, Zman's offering good advice. A reset should work but back up your important data for sure. A chunky usb or external drive, cloud, .

I just bought a Black Friday 10.4" Samsung Android tablet. 128gb storage + 128gb sd card and 4 gb memory/ram. Lovely, but for many of our new toys the familiarity takes a while and is frustrating.

Trying to turn off the new tablet with the smaller button on its topright edge, it just went to Bixby!! The same button wakes it up fine.
Spending two hours delving into settings I found the solution, I simply had to reasign the ruddy button to shutdown, rather than ""BIXBY"".😖
Maybe I stuffed up, but why on earth would Samsung set the default to Bixby!? Who is Bixby? 🤣

Very frustrating but in hindsight I learnt a lot.

All's good so far except for Font sizes and display. Another work in progress.

I'm jealous! 😍
Can you see the harbour bridge or opera house from your window? 😃
No I live about 25ks from the harbor Jessica.

I know he is an appreciate it but my son built my computer so I trust his judgement Terry. Looks an intermitent fault as I was able to shut down as normal last nite.

Thomas, is very worrying about your government planning on building hundreds of bomb shelters. Is there anywhere you and family can hide, say a cellar? Jessica should your govt do the same. And do you have anywhere to hide in your home. This may be a knee jerk decision, but when free Europe faces a deluded unstoppable tyrant like Putin, precaution may be the step to take.

On a brighter note Australian scientists are confident they have found the panacea to eliminating the killer skin disease melanoma. They say a SIMPLE BLOOD TEST developed by their company could save millions of lives globally by firstly discovering then eliminating a melanoma before it reaches the malignant stage. In Australia melanoma kills 4 people every day. Expect same in other hot climate nations.

That's great news Craig. Medical Science is making great progress, and it's great to see our Aussie scientists doing so well. 😀
I'd hope the test gets incorporated in say yearly blood work with a broad spectrum of diagnoses.

Ditto Terry. Yes we should be proud of out medical/ scientific Research and Development. And for once the world famous CSIRO played no part in this.

My super smart Japanese sister in law in Rozelle, wife to my 81yo eldest brother, worked as a medical researcher for CSIRO for decades. Prostate cancer and Epigenetics I knew of ...
I love the way Australia punches well above its weight in many realms: sport, medical science, Innovations, multiculturalism, social welfare and safety nets, first globally to give the finger to the big social media sites ... it goes on. My pet hate tho is our red tape and top heavy beuacracies. They mean well but make life hard for us. Crickey, I hear awful stories of dysfunctional people just not coping with the modern world. IT illiterate ... innumerate, ...
I blame the Maths teachers!😂🤣

Also, just for fun on my new tablet I'm doing some wild macro fictional writing on our "Tall Tales". Have a look and even have a try out as a DemiGod postulating the near future... 🤔🤫🤪

I'm not going in any bomb shelters as I'm claustrophobic. I'm sure my government will put things in place for everyone though, although Mad Vlad is full of it! 🙃

Germany has already started implementing this too. The governments must know something we don't. WWW3 maybe?
