WA's last Premier of WA McGowan was justifiably awarded the Order of Australia for his battles keeping our state safe from Covid. One estimate said his actions saved 6,000 lives.
His biggest battle was keeping Clive Palmer out with stressful court battles. So great was his popularity, given his actions like shutting our borders, he received 96% of the states votes in his last election.
He was burnt out though by his herculean efforts and retired whilst still in office handing the reins to Roger Cook, who is ok.
 
Taylor Swift is touring Europe and currently doing her London gig. Great singer but was shocked to read she's a billionaire! I didn't think she was that big as compared to Madonna or Beyonce.
 
I listened to one of her songs recently Jessica and didn't think she was that good. Guess I must be an old rock n roller.

Ditto Terry. When she toured here there was a media frenzy. All our papers and online where over saturated with her.

WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange pleaded guilty to one charge of violating U.S. espionage law on Wednesday in a courtroom on the U.S. Pacific island territory of Saipan where he is expected to walk free after a deal with U.S. prosecutors.

Has been a long and stormy road for the 52 year old Aussie. Now mate come home and go into selling real estate or something.
 
The US flaunted its own first amendment of "Freedom of speech and the press... " with perusing Assange for exposing the US's sordid acts like gunning down innocent civilians and journalists with a helicopter gunship.
It was in the public interest to do so and their hypocracy was further heightened with the light sentence Chelsea Manning received.
Julian should stay in Australia and keep outing the US's vile deeds.
Even though his conviction was watered down it sends a poor message to all journalists globally about what they can say about the US as the Yanks will try to punish them, even if that press is in another country.
Self righteous bullies whose credibility sinks further. 😡

No mate. The one good thing that came from all those years of house arrest was he found his life partner. Before that the constant stress of having sexual assault charges then the espionage ones hanging over him made him look 20 years older than he was.
 
He sure does look older due to the US's vengeance on Assange for exposing their war crimes. Not one of their operatives were caught nor injured nor killed despite all the blather trying to pin 175 years imprisonment on our truth telling journalist.
Poor Julian should be knighted for being a crusader for exposing the truth of war crimes of a nation that pretends it's a paragon of virtue.
