I'm glad Mick is back for you, it will help you with your on ground needs just hope that he does not captain you as that should be done by a solid clubman. Don,t take that the wrong way as it is only an opion. If he wants to captain again then he should never have left.@|

i think people are more shocked at WHO was appointed more so than how he was appointed. what i know about him is he is selfish, loud, rude, abusive aggressive and has no respect for umpires and opposition. personally i thought roosters needed a leader who was going to take the club to the next level, not just on the field but more so off the ground. i think your club is screaming out for some discipline and chris is not the person for the job.

I have know Chris for awhile and have seen him muck up only once. If people feel threatened by his strong caracter then they dont understand or know him that well.People may not know that Chris has been ill for the last 3 years and that may have had something to do with what people perseive to be bad behavior but it isn,t. Give him ago at ROOSTERS and lets see who is right during the season. I think I will be proven right and all the KNOCKERS and X SO CALLED FRIENDS WRONG.@|@|@||@Wait and See.

Chris Smith was not, is not and never will be the right person for that job. He will f*ck up for sure, it may not be this year but more than likely will be this year......
The problem was, no one else applied for the job so he got it by default.

I've heard he has been offering huge amounts of $$$$, to different players within the comp, are Roosters trying to buy a premiership like Carlton..

Chris obviously has no faith in the cattle he has done there or else he wouldn't be offering every man and his dog some $$$$$.

We will see what happens this year, I don't think Roosters will be in the top four...... Not unless there 2's are in Turf, they have more heart then the pretender's that played in the first XI last year.

Don't believe everything you hear.If their is money being offered it will upset alot of people at the club and I dont think the people in charge would be doing that. But I will find out and if I hear there is some money I will let everyone on hear know staight away.

tram, save your time pal. i am letting you and everyone that reads this know that there has been money offered to a few players in this association and outside it by your club/coach. asfar as i know, no one has accepted the offer. if you want me to name the players i just might do that. or better, why dont you ask chris yourself and see if he tells you the truth or starts his coaching career at the rooster by lying to the players. first test of character for him, lets see if he passes it or proves us knockers right;)

I really like to go fishing at this time of year.It is amazing to see those that wear once close turn on each other.I have talked to Chris and I have no problem with how he has started as my coach. If what you say is true then that is fine and its good to see those who you say wear offered money have taken the opportunity to show a little loyalty to their clubs. GOOD FOR THEM. Bad luck and maybe better luck next time may we have some more cash we do need a keeper mate.Interested give us a call.:D:D

you just got snagged, not a very good fisherman tram. i'm not a keeper pal but you are right that you guys need one. i'm sure chris has had a go at our keeper but i dont like his chances in getting him to rooster. anyway i didnt expect much more from you once you said you are from roosters. the guy who posted earlier about you guys trying to buy a flag is right. so yes, chris fits right in at your club. you deserve each other;).

Re: Western Suburbs Churches Cricket Association

Good luck to the roosters, they played against us in the finals last year without spending big money so i dont see why they would need to start, as far with the new coach not sure what he offered the club but i hope its worth it.

Thank you bank man someone who can see through my word and see what I'm getting at.Good call we dont need to spend any. Talk is cheap and actions will be shown to be stronger and more improved this season,GO ROOSTERS.@|

Re: Western Suburbs Churches Cricket Association

looks like merger discussion might be back on the agenda b/w the churches and willi comp. If it went back to the clubs on a vote would clubs be for or against? Interesting times ahead.

Willi Juniors and West metro comps also in discussions to create one big western suburbs comp. Probably more likely to go ahead than the senior merger.

I'd back it for sure, make for a much stronger comp and ensure the future of cricket in the western suburbs. Would be tough for some of the WSUCCA sides early but I think within a 5 year period one of the WSUCCA teams could certainly win an A Turf premiership.

it would be great cause how long can the churches survive with 5 clubs in the turf grade? if turf fails this association will find it very hard to keep going. its hard enough to get players to play here now, imagine we had no turf. i think a few teams might find it hard to compete early on but most would be competetive. my vote would be yes@|

Would be good for western suburbs cricket, enable more church sides opportunity to play turf cricket and possibly include 2 teams on turf and for Willi comp enable to improve the competition and add strengh in the matting section.

Id say would be one of the biggest local comps if it went ahead and wouldnt be surprise if a few x Willi comp and X sunshine comp sides cross back over.

Have any sides secured a turf ground of their own? I remember hearing something about possibly building a turf table at the Grey? Is that still on the agenda?

Would be one of the best things to happen to the cricket in the Western Suburbs BUT I can't see it happening, the Willi comp think they are to good and would rather stand alone.

I think we should give our comp the chance over the next couple of seasons to see if they can lift the standards of our comp. You may be surprised.@|

i think the standard can lift a little but too many clubs are happy as they are. i say a change and challenge might bring out some new energy throuhg out the association. what better than to compete with the best in the area. i say bring it on

I agree 100%, plus the standard in the Willi comp isn't that much better then the churches:cool:

I havn't heard anything about a possible merger, but there seems to be a rumor every year. Personally I think it would be a good thing for both comps. The churches teams would be competitive against the bottom half of A-Turf but would struggle against the top teams.

The biggest problem would be clubs having turf grounds. All the teams in A-Turf have there own Turf grounds, but i dont think this is the case in the churches with teams sharing grounds and games being played on Sunday.
