Dave Temby is going to play again in a bid to go back to back with St. Johns. He wouldn't qualify to play in the 'Old Boys' team as he would bring down the average age by about 10 years haha

A little cocky aren't you?.
Back to back.....Now that's wishfull thinking if I've ever seen it.

I didnt say St Johns are going to go back to back so if your saying wishful thinking or cockiness on my behalf then your a goose, I didn't even say I was from St. Johns, my comment was made because it is only natural that people play to win grand finals so naturally he will be looking to go back to back, its good motivation. In any case how can you call it cocky, St. Johns would have every right to say what they like coming into the season as reigning premiers and Giveitup at least they didn't look stupid talking themselves up all year only to fall when it mattered, they left their talking to on the field, good luck to them spruking it up now.

Once again giveitup I didn't say you were spruking throughout last season, i was talking about the people who did come on here and talk their side up. This was a comment made about your stupid idea that St Johns players are only just coming out of the woodwork.

Secondly, how can 1 post about 1 St Johns player amount to always talking about St Johns, if you look at my previous posts they were about players from many clubs who I had in my carnival side and I was asked why I didnt have Dave Temby in the side hence I spoke about him.

Maybe do as your name states and GIVE IT UP!!

Sorry buddy......my mistake.
I dont think he is reading his posts cause he is very deffensive when it comes to the Temby boys. As I have said before they are both great players.. Dan is a GUN but Dave not so much.@|

Ha ha ha your really funny. NOT!!!!!

Lets agree to disagree shall we.
Back to cricket...........................

Does anyone know how many teams are entering in Turf grade this season. I think Roosters will still keep both sides this year cause I think it worked well.
Any thoughts?

Dave Temby is a gun but his body wouldn't hold up to 5 straight days of cricket, if it could I would have him in the side ahead of Edwards. I chose two spinners who are very different bowlers whilst both leggies they have different variations and no off spinners stand out, possibly Upal. Kiely can only play in the grade his team is in, he has dominated the A grade comp and would do well in the Turf comp therefore I picked him. As for Reg, his batting lets him down too much and as a keeper you need to be able to do well and be an option up the order. Hullet demonstrated last year that his batting has improved and he could fulfill that role. Just my opinion though.

mate, we're not playing test cricket. i'm sure dave can be looked after in the field or sit out parts of the game with the 12th man fielding. the 2 spinners are not that much different, both bowl leggies and a wrong un and callus has a toppie, the differene is that its harder to pick callus. i still believe that those not playing turf should not be pick because its a totally different game on the grass and they will get caught out. and about reg, you are right his batting let him down last season but, he has been a proven performer over the years as a keeper, bat and leader at his club. hullet has only had the 1 ok season so i would stick with experiance and track record.

i dont think getting flogged just about every game is good for anyone. roosters 2nd turf side should be out. yes i know that it helped keep the turf comp going last year cause some weak clubs didnt want to play at a better level, but those clubs should be told that they are in the turf grade or piss off out of the wsucca and go chase easy flags else where.....

also some news about a player comming back to roosters following chris smith from the congs. i hear around the traps that gary grist is making the move after failing in his attempt to win a flag at the congs.

I agree that Roosters 2 should not be in the turf comp this year, and thats not just a comment to get up anyones goat at roosters I just think other sides should be forced to play turf i.e south and caroline springs and sports therefore roosters 2 would make an odd number.

same here. i think what roosters did was great and should be applauded for it because the turf grade would have been crap with a bye and maybe even called off. so again well done, but the association need to grow some balls and make the other clubs play turf and let roosters 2nd side play where they should be

1short Agree with you 100%. Caroline Springs, Melton Sth and Altona Sports should be told they are plying turf this season.

Re: Western Suburbs Churches Cricket Association

Association meeting is at angliss tomorrow night at 7.30 so maybe people can go there and express their opinions regarding the turf comp.

Re: Western Suburbs Churches Cricket Association

can someone let me know if what i heard on the weekend is true or not.... i was told that roosters have lost use of the turf ground at altona meadows. if this is true whats going to happen to the turf grade cos we aint got enough wickets as it is, and if more teams are going to be playing in that grade i would like to know where???

1 short, as far as im aware we still have use of the ground. it would be disapointing if we lost the ground after the work the guys put into it last season.
any news from the association meeting the other night???

Re: Western Suburbs Churches Cricket Association

Whats the latest around the traps? I have heard Altona have picked up a few big names from Yarraville Club (not including D Taylor haha). Any other player movements to clubs in the association?
