WHO/WHAT AM I

How did that help East Germany where you where.
It helped by providing a real alternative to the communist regime which inspired the vast majority of East Germans until the wall came down. It kept the German Question open. A flourishing West Germany on the doorstep of the communist regime was a continuous provocation, a thorn in the side since it proved that communism, contrary to what its ideology kept claiming, was not the superior societal model and that a better society was possible, which would not have been the case, had Germany been united and become a communist state.

For most of his early life he was a man of the land. Had little schooling. Mostly hunted, animal trapping, battled hostile Indians and later lived with one friendlier tribe. It was in his middle years that he made his name.

Davy Crockett?
Could say DC is closest to mine, as they both had similar impoverished rustic upbringings and
like Crockett he was an American pioneer and frontiersman. Became famous for his exploration and settlement of Kentucky. Even had a town named after him and was a militia officer during the Revolutionary War.

You know who this is Terry. Likely have seen the tv series about this character. As I did when a kid. Doubt you'd have seen it Thomas.

Some one gonna have another guess as to my character. Or do I reveal. I think there is sufficient clues.

So it was Boone as Vince Vince said. :thumbsu: I did see a goodly number of those 34 episodes of the TV series. Does this surprise you?

I never saw a post from Vince.

Boonesboro, Kentucky was originally a fort which still stands today as a memorial to the pioneer/explorer.
