Re: Williamstown and District Cricket Association (WADCA)

A Turf

GU bundled out ANA for 74 on a dodgy wet wicket, in reply GU declared at 8 for 148 on the second last ball of the day?

History repeated it self, Chugg back and Frew cleans up. Much improved out fit with Chugg and Preston back in the Mix. Flag favourites once again.

B Turf

GU all out for 116, in reply ANA 5 for 53. Lots of Juice in the wicket, should go down to the wire.

Any other results yet?

Re: Williamstown and District Cricket Association (WADCA)

A Turf: Laverton and Gellibrand washed out, they will resume next week in a one dayer.

B Turf: Lavo all out for 111 i think and Gellibrand in reply are 4/43 :S

C Turf: Willy Colts dominated Lavo in the grand final rematch. Laverton all out for 103 and in reply Colts are 2/111.

Re: Williamstown and District Cricket Association (WADCA)

Whys Charlie Guerrera playing in B turf? Thought he would of got picked as a Batter if he couldnt bowl in A turf?

If he can bowl next week, he will get a bag in that grade.

Re: Williamstown and District Cricket Association (WADCA)

unable to bowl or do much in the field this game, so playing in seconds as a batsmen. should be right the next game.

Fantastic Run chase by Willi Imps. Seen R.Hinton made 154 out of the total 247! Where did this bloke play before?

Will Digman struggle without a C.Guerrera if he doesnt get up and bowl in A Turf?

On a Side note, GU won outright against ANA on the last over of the day. Bad loss for ANA, and definally a big wake up call.

Crunch game next week against a firing Lavo outfit.

Anyone care to comment on the comming A turf Games?

GU vs Digman
Wynhamvale vs Colts (Match of the round)
Lavo vs ANA
Rams vs Gellibrand
Hoppers vs Willi imps

Ryan comes from Swan Hill, moved to Melb. with work, smart keeper as well.
Digman without Charlie are still a very competitive side, just missed out on finals without him last year.
Saw Charlie up close on Saturday, good pace but didnt do a lot with it.
That said it was a slow wicket, batsmen who refuse to be intimidated will do alright against him. He will be in ones for rest of year, broken toe didnt seem to hamper him too much on the weekend.
ANA prior to GU game appear to be doing OK, much more competitive than Deer Park last year. Laverton should be a good test, they havent seemed to have hit their straps just yet. Will be keen to see how they go.
GU and Digman should be a good game, Digman have a solid batting line up, got a few blokes who seem to consistently get their 20,30 and 40s..a couple of them will need to convert into big scores against GU and if Charlie comes back all fired up an upset may occur. GU have a lot of depth though.
Wyndhamvale have a very good bowling attack whilst Colts are a very good batting side. Maybe the Vales, but will have to bat well.
Gellibrand should be to good for Rams.
Hoppers/Imps will be a good tussle. Imps have a couple of batsmen overdue for some runs and after a tight game won by Imps last year I think Hoppers will come out keen to give some stick.
Good luck.

Re: Williamstown and District Cricket Association (WADCA)

Hinton was solid against us without making runs, good to see him step up and win the game for Imps.
this week i can see the games going:

GU
Wyndhamvale
Lavo
Gellibrand
Hoppers

Re: Williamstown and District Cricket Association (WADCA)

A-Turf - GU 178 NDCC 2/26
Did well to bowl out GU for under 200. Will be a good run chase next week.
B-Turf - NDCC 239
Good score on our home ground. Lavo will have to bat well to get them.
C-Turf - 435
Huge total, Hoppers Club have a massive task next week

A-Turf have a good run chase next week, but are in a good possie.

Re: Williamstown and District Cricket Association (WADCA)

boys the u/21 rep side got off to a great start today.......

churches comp 4cc/202 off 45....
russel tydens (lavo) the pick of the bowlers 1/24 off 9
nick keating (gellibrand)2/35 off 7
mick keating (gellibrand)1/30 odd
willy comp 7cc/204 needing 35 off 4 overs and got them with a boundry off the last ball of the day......
reece miles(point cook)37
david streets (newport digman) 39*(motm)
nick keating 20 odd
russel tydens 20 odd
shaun ?(keeper from point cook)20 odd was a last minuite replacement done a great job with the gloves as well
nat ward(willy colts) 20 odd

in the end the boys didnt bowl too well dropped a couple of catches.......outfielding and attack on the ball was fantastic and the wdca as a whole should be proud of these young blokes..... but the run chase on a lighting fast outfield of churnside park (werribee) was something special......other than grand final wins for me as a coach this win doesnt beat them but i tell you what its close.......stuck to the game plan on a big ground and the pressure was on them to contain us........they didnt.....though an undermanned side they played as a team and got the job done....

next week playing on sunday at harry trot oval.......albert park v the morland mooney valley cricket association......get down and have a look.....

Re: Williamstown and District Cricket Association (WADCA)

Great Stuff Weapons, and well done to all the young fellas, especially to see them get a win with so many unavailable. Good to see laid back streetsy get some runs.

Re: Williamstown and District Cricket Association (WADCA)

Good to see Russell Tydens doing well. Im a bit suprised by the lack of enthusiasm of players to join the WDCA squad we had a few players at Lavo who got picked and refused to go.

that'll change next year. those who make themselves available to play and then don't show up will be suspended by the comp.
