This is my 1st season in willi imps and don't know the standards of the other teams. If i'm honest i'm only goin on wat i've seen and heard so far! so any team in the comp could surprise! from wat i hear GUCC r by far the strongest team in the comp and have been 4 many yrs so hopefully few teams will compete with them this yr.

no idea as i sed haven't been around 4 2 long so don;t know who was in side last yr! so dunno who's joined or left!

i hope the imps do make it.. i think they have underachieved the last few years! always been a fan of the imps..

sounds like the comp may be picking up this year.. if Lavo have picked up a few from werribee, Digman recruitng well again and the imps are flying, should be an interseting year of cricket..

Will anyone play this week??

Be interestin 2 have some predictions this yr on who's gonna be the 4 teams that makes finals as would love 2 hear peoples views who know the comp?

the top 4 will be alot closer this year of corse you have gu then digman,lavo colts , wyndamvale and imps should be very intresting season

Sorry if i offend anyone but these are my predictions for the season.I think its going to be a very competitive comp this year and my views may change if some people can confirm some new signings for each side.

1.GU
2.Newport Digman
3.Willy Colts
4.Laverton
5.Wyndhamvale
6.West Newport
7.Willy Imps
8.ANA
9.Hoppers club
10.Gellibrand

I think maybe this year G.U will be dethroned. With the ammount of quality in the league now its possibly time for a change. IMO the 4 teams playing finals will be G.U, Laverton, Digman and Colts.

Interseting you have Gellibrand at the bottom.. Hasnt Croft and some other bloke from Williamstown gone back there?
Hoppers club always pull off a few upsets in a season.. if they can get more consistant maybe the improvers..
Laverton would want to improve from last year to have them marked down for finals..
Digman will make finals, good bunch of blokes which makes them stick together and play good cricket

its only what i heard!! i made that comment when i heard Chamberlain was in a coaching role down there.. i now know he isnt so they will struggle again!

I think wyndhamvale will sneak in the 4. Laverton would need to pick up a few quality players from last year side to make finals.

Laverton have pretty much got together the same side that played in the 06/07 grand final plus a few extra recruits. Wouldnt expect anything less from finals this season

v.t.c.a. off this week. one-day game next week. Thats the beauty of fixturing a two-day game for the first round. if first day can"t be played it then becomes a one-day game the following sat.::D

The gorilla's can be out gorillerd. All you need is a couple a bigger gorilla's standing in slips giving better than they do. The umps won't do anything even if they are insured against fire.:eek:
