I have played in both comps and I think the top 3 sides of the churches comp (based on my opinion) St Johns, Williamstown Congs, and Melton Centrals would be very competative in A Turf straight up, im not talking about winning it by any stretch but would certainly compete against Gellibrand, Willi Imps, Footscray ANA, Hoppers and the like. I could forsee one of those sides winning an A Turf premiership within 5 years of competing in a merged comp.

I think all three teams would make the finals in Bturf in their first year. As too how they go in A turf, would all depend if they can find a few new recruits. Id say they would finish down near the bottom to mid range of the ladder.
As to winning A turf penant in the next five years, anything is possible l guess. Melton Centrals would be in the best position, giving number of teams and Juniors at the club.

That comp can't get any lower, thats why some of the better clubs have left the WDCA to the VTCA (Willi, Werribee, Seabrook etc).

Lets not get into a tit for tat anyway, just some friendly banter:)

friendly banter is good.. But your showing how much you know about the WADCA when you think the better clubs are Seabrook and Werribee..
Were you are aware West newport are going back to WADCA..
Cant be all bad!!

Seabrook were a good side when Clarke was the C/C and I think Werribee won the A-Turf flag not long before G.U. joined the comp and are now going places.

Why do you think West Newport are back? Do you think it is because they like the WDCA so much or it may possibly have something to do with the incident at the VTCA last year?

Dont get me wrong. I'm not bagging the comp, I'm just saying G.U. get looked after. Mind you they are one of the best sides in park cricket going around with some brilliant park cricketers, but if you don't think they get looked after " ur dreaming "

Re: Williamstown and District Cricket Association (WADCA)

Batdoctor you are clueless, sit and watch a GU game and watch the amount of desicions that dont go their way, its the talent that wins matches not the umpires, get over yourself, even better, name yourself and come down and watch!

Re: Williamstown and District Cricket Association (WADCA)

Any clubs out there under 17's team interested in playing against a West Metro Junior under 17's team in a practice game?, to most likely be played on McIvor Reserve Yarraville in the comming weeks either Saturday or Sunday?

If interested let me know by pm.
Cheers

Re: Williamstown and District Cricket Association (WADCA)

Only just over 2 weeks until the first game..

Whats happening around the clubs? Any big recruits?

I believe GU have picked up 1 good player.. thats about it.. dont think they have lost anyone!

Big Whisper, Willi Imps chasing Dean Chamberalin.. He has captained GU seconds to many premierships and a former Imps A Turf premiership player. they want him back in a coaching type role..

Anyone know if Digman have recruited? they ususally get a quality player each year..

Re: Williamstown and District Cricket Association (WADCA)

interesting times ahead ? wdca last night passed red/yellow card system for this season , any thoughs on this.

this year 10 sides a turf,13 b turf,10 c turf,8 a mats,10 b mats, 8 one dayers.

ANA lost a few, A Turf will have a couple of new faces from the Juniors playing. Played a practice game against Melton subblies last weekend, got overrun in the end easily.

Anyone else played any practice games yet? We got another one comming up
against Rupertswood C.C this sunday.
