We'd have to see as to next year, i've already spoken about it. i'm sure i'd do my best in twisting his arm not to go AN and come to us but who knows, money talks to some people!

Don't write off West Newport yet only 6 points out but are in a strong position this game against GU ( 292 runs on the board ) with 2 home games to come against Hoppers Club and Imps. Would need to win all games and hope other results go in their favour but are still a chance with their bowling attack and Bamford in top form with the bat.

PS The weather forecast for Saturday has been revised with a top temp of 35.

GUCC will win with wickets in hand, the pitch is a road, the outfield as fast as possible...........Dean Commo to top score.but i did hear a whisper that E Maddern has predicted a personal record!

What a great performance by the A and B Turf of Laverton Cricket Club

Just goes to show what our A Turf are capable of and it also shows that our B Turf are the real deal and probably now the flag favourites

The winner of Lavo vs Colts(loser will be gone) would have to be favourites to grab 4th spot after this weekend, unless GU pull off 2 unlikely wins......?????

Battle for top spot(ND vs WYND) will be a good one, luckily its at Bryan Martyn Oval, not the goat track at the crap farm!!!!!!!!:D

Pug knocked back plenty of coin from clubs in the VTCA to leave AN when they were paying WAY below his market value when he was last around, showed huge loyalty when a couple of clubs basically offered him a blank cheque.

Could be a different story more than ten years later and he would be a menace on the Fearon. Hope Imps keep the fridge well stocked!!! No doubt with Evo there though...

He would be back drinking in West until the wee hours every Sunday after about 2 weeks!

Pity Spellbound is no longer....woops did I say that?

Your prediction was close to the mark the wicket was a road but GU batted very well and to West Newport's credit they hung in there all day and bowled good line and length and even with ten overs to go the result was still in the balance. May be the whisper got the Madden's mixed up as Dave set a personal record with his maiden A Turf hundred.

Your sportsman day yesterday was a great day with plenty of laughs and a good time had by all and i look forward to coming back next year.

Re: Williamstown and District Cricket Association (WADCA)

Huge round this week, with the top 6 teams playing each other, and with the final 4 still not set, there is some season defining games this week.
ND v Wyn- Either way, ND building up, Wynd on the rebound.
IMP V GU- Another one either way. Imps looking the goods and in form, Hinton and Robson the Keys. GU great run chase last week, but was at home, and they wont have that advantage for the rest of the season. Close one, but Imps for me.
Lav V Colts- Lav been up and down this year, losing some close ones and not firing in others, Colts have had some big scores, and batting there key. Toss of the coin, and a close one, but Lav at home just.
Also, can't right Gellib off either. Capable of an outright against ANA this week? The extra 4 pts would keep them in it also.
Either way, a few clubs will know there fate come sat 6.00pm.
Good luck!!!

Imps are a big chance to finish top 2 if they win their last 2 games. The loser of this weeks Newport / Wynd could end up third.

Round 10

Newport v W'vale
Imps v GU

Round 11

W'Vale v GU
Newport v Laverton
Imps v West

Re: Williamstown and District Cricket Association (WADCA)

rather than worry about the 4 as there are so many options still. Lets sum up the teams and predict the winner!

ND - they are the only undefeated side so far! Need Walsh to make a big score! Gurrera needs to not bowl no-balls! will end up taking crucial wickets and be called for over stepping!

WYN - Dont think they make enough runs to win a GF! Need to be able to make a total of over 500 runs to win a flag! Their bowling wont be so great on a Grand final wicket assuming it was to be played at Lavo!

IMPS - Have enough good bats to win.. their bowling may let them down a bit.. A good spinner though to bowl 25+ overs in both innings of a GF

GU - Their bowling is a weak link, howvere they have enough runs on the boards in GF over years to be condiered dangerous if they make it.

Colts - While they have some abitliy not sure they have enough grit about them to win finals. Would battle over 4 days

Lavo - Could be a surpsirse packet on their day however unlikely to make it! enough good players to make enough runs to win!

Overall i think Digman will be the side at this stage!

The only reason Digman havent lost yet has been some lucky weather and decisions from umpires.
1. Called off against Wyndhamvale when the rest of the comp played.
2. Chasing 220 at Colts .Covers blew off .No side chases 160 at colts.
3.Chasing 290 against imps when rained off.

I agree with point no3...

No1-I was there that day + one end of the ground was under water, then sand was shoveled everywhere +it turned into a beach(how do u know ND wouldve lost???)

No2-Colts are responsible for their covers blowing off(it seems to happen a fair bit down there)............We started at 3.30pm,so that meant only one team could win the match.......in saying that we were 2/98 on a sticky+lost 3 late wickets after 5.30,is that lucky is it?????? I would call it unlucky!!!!!!!
