To be honest, Lawford has made over 350 runs this season. hit a ton the game before christmas opening the bat, so i dont think there was hiding that day?

Everyone has this obsession about Wyndhamvale not being able to bat. Our lowest score before the last game was 170. Whilst 170 might not be a massive total, it's a fairly competitive total in this comp

Vales BATSMAN this year.

Top 6 last week

Veal - avg 21.63
Dennerley - avg 20
N.Pring - avg 19.33
J.Pring - avg 9.57
Radford - avg 4.67
Hardy - avg 17.5

6 for 92.7 is not strong
Throw in Dolliver 7.71

Your bowlers and tail have been fantastic, no one doubts that.
Batting as facts show is your weakness.

If you guys make 170 in the semi final you might as well pack your bags as there will be no grand final appearence again for W'Vale. Lawford is your key with both the bat and ball and is the barometer to your side. I would target him and try and get inside his head to get him off his game if this works the rest of you will wilt under finals pressures especially on good wickets where your bowling attack will not have the impact it does on your shit home wicket.

They must be doing something right Wimps View, and didnt they do you guys over earlier in the year.Or are you going to use the excuse Hinton wasnt playing as the rest of your players did?

They are doing a lot right, a few people on this forum (me included) do think their batting is their weakness.
They did us over good.
We made 182 (without Ryno)
They were 9-142 before Lawford and Clayton dug in and got them over the line. They made 187. A close competitive match.
Would Ryno have made a difference? We will never know.
He could have made a duck, he could have made a ton.
More often than not, he makes runs not ducks.

agree with riff raff.. wont win a final with 170! in fact would struggle with 220.. 90 overs in semis remember!
last year Wyndymvale won the toss against GU in a semi on a road and bowled! the reultt, GU made 300 and smashed them!

Hopefully commonsense reigns and Sat is called off....40+ degrees kills cricket as a sport to enjoy.

Mind you it's ok if you're batting...

lawford doesnt try and hide down the order.. for fact i know, that he wants to open the bat or bat higher, so it gives him a chance to make a big score as he did against colts..

Re: Williamstown and District Cricket Association (WADCA)

now for all you losers out there that think wynd doesnt have what it takes to make the grand final and win it, they will prove you'se wrong..

as lawford maybe the backbone to there side, they still have a few top order batters that can make runs, or tho they havent shown it though out the season.. they have the ability and will show it in the next games and in the finals..

and talking bout the comp now. they should abandon tomorrow so that it gives the teams fighting 4 a spot in the finals to win, coz how r they expected to get that chance if nearly all the games could turn out draws if they get a start tomorrow..

Yes it is,he opened in the 2's in the finals last year+did ok(batted at 11 during home&way),batted for a long time for not many but did the job.....then due to lack of options started this year opening and took his chance, got 120 + 86 the following week, admittingly against 2 bottom sides but as you know you still gotta get them and for a young bloke has had a bit of bad luck in the ones so far but held his own!!!!!!!!
It must have been a genious who thought to open him:eek::eek::D:D
