Re: Australia vs India - Border Gavaskar Trophy

Australia don't seem to be in any hurry to score runs. They should declare after scoring another 50 runs if they want to have a chance of winning the game.

Re: Australia vs India - Border Gavaskar Trophy

It looks like they want to put the victory out of the mind of the Indians. They picked up Jaffer early so that could help

Re: Australia vs India - Border Gavaskar Trophy

Australia could have declared with a 300 lead but they seemed to want to put the game totally out of the reach of India.

Re: Australia vs India - Border Gavaskar Trophy

The game isn't out of reach for India, but its highly unlikely that they will go after the target.
Jaffer has failed yet again, which defeats the purpose of having a specialist opener in the team. India need to bring Sehwag in for the next game.

You are right, India are reliant on them. But remember that there is three of them; if one fails, the other two will likely succeed.

two have failed until now. if we can get ganguly the game is in the bag. bring on hogg. ganguly got out thrice to him.

Re: Australia vs India - Border Gavaskar Trophy

You got what you asked for. Probably a coincidence, but Hogg was brought into the attack just as you asked for it.

Re: Australia vs India - Border Gavaskar Trophy

lol coincidence?? i think not. punter always asks me for advice. maybe he reads simplycricket too. i should captain the australian team :cool

Re: Australia vs India - Border Gavaskar Trophy

I can't see Yuvraj playing in the next game. India might end up losing the match. They have lost half their side and I think the Dhoni will fall soon too. Its just a matter of finishing up the tail for Australia. India need to bat out 38 overs and will need a big effort from Ganguly if that is to happen.

Re: Australia vs India - Border Gavaskar Trophy

I think there were plenty of bad decisions from the umpires that might end up costing India the game.

Ganguly is continuing his excellent form with another fifty but its important that he continues and gets a big score and more important that the batsmen at the other end stay with him.

Re: Australia vs India - Border Gavaskar Trophy

Ganguly gone, doesn't want to go though. He'll lose his match fee there, not sure that it carried.

Re: Australia vs India - Border Gavaskar Trophy

gangulys out! should win the match now. just the 4 wickets to get in 30 overs. this is awesome. im loving it.

Re: Australia vs India - Border Gavaskar Trophy

The question that will be asked is did Ponting signal it was out before or after Benson did?

Re: Australia vs India - Border Gavaskar Trophy

I can't watch the match but by reading cricinfo I get the impression that it was dodgy decision to say the least. India are most likely to lose from this situation, which looked unlikely a few hours ago.

Re: Australia vs India - Border Gavaskar Trophy

yeah the umpiring has been pretty shocking but im not complaining. i hope we get a wicket soon because kumble can be a stubborn batsman.

Re: Australia vs India - Border Gavaskar Trophy

the man of the match should be the umpire...what the hell are they doing...two important wickets lost because of them...india could easily won this match but now they are in this situation because of umpires...if india lose now the umpires will take the biggest blame.....there are still 20 overs left :(

Re: Australia vs India - Border Gavaskar Trophy

India will manage the draw from here, Dhoni and Kumble will see you through.

More questions will get raised about the standard of umpiring but in the Ganguly case, referring it would not have helped as there were no clear angles anyway.

If Warne had been playing Australia would have won this, just goes to show that they do miss the chubby blonde spinner.

Re: Australia vs India - Border Gavaskar Trophy

india are doing good....i hope kumble and dhoni can play for the 14 overs
