jaffer and yuvi should be dropped for the next game...bring in karthik and sehwag....sehwag is very attacking player so he has better chance to play well.

Agree with this, you need to make a change somewhere although I'd be tempted to keep Jaffer in, drop Dravid to 3 and get Sehweg to open.

Nah, put Dravid low down the order. Laxman is too valuable currently to not bat at three.

Re: Australia vs India - Border Gavaskar Trophy

yeah Laxman has played well at 3, maybe bring dravid in at 5, gangluy at 6 and Dhoni at 7, thats the way i would do it

Re: Australia vs India - Border Gavaskar Trophy

we need a good start against australia...in the first innings we got a good start and thats why we made a big score....so karthik and sehwag should open...i think dravid should bat at three....laxman is a good batsman but at number 3 he had a lot of pressure and his techniqe is not as good as dravid.

Re: Australia vs India - Border Gavaskar Trophy

is shaun tait gonna replace mitchell johnson in the perth test??
and has the hearing for singh and symonds been finalised yet??

Re: Australia vs India - Border Gavaskar Trophy

i reacon this is taits big chance to break into the australian outfit, that is if its a fast and bouncy pitch, although it would be a little unfair on johnson for him to miss out on the record breaking victory should it happen

Re: Australia vs India - Border Gavaskar Trophy

yes true but at least he will be 12th man (i think) but does shaun tait have the fitness to bowl in a test i thought he waz more of a one day cricket player

Re: Australia vs India - Border Gavaskar Trophy

no he is a good first class (4 day) cricketer, in fact he took 65 wickets in 10 matches at an average of 20.17 during the 04/05 domestic season, second highest of all time, behind only CR Miller with 67 from 11 matches

Re: Australia vs India - Border Gavaskar Trophy

wow didnt no he was a test crickiter hopefully he will do well :D
and micheal clarke will get a century!!

Re: Australia vs India - Border Gavaskar Trophy

he is a great bowler aswell u cood classify him as an all rounder
great work from him today

Re: Australia vs India - Border Gavaskar Trophy

i think allrounder may be to strong a word, but those left arm tweakers of his have proved effective, especially against the indians. and i think its high time he scored another century

Re: Australia vs India - Border Gavaskar Trophy

I'm sure Clarke would be hungry for runs. He hasn't got many in this series. He managed just 1 run in the whole match, but the three wickets he got in the end more than made up for it. He has only taken 11 test wickets and 9 have come against India. They should bowl him more when playing against India.
I think Tait should come in for Johnson. He is more likely to trouble the Indians. Johnson hasn't been too impressive in the first two matches.

Re: Australia vs India - Border Gavaskar Trophy

Yeah he hasnt bowled that impressively during the first 2 tests, although he will be kicking him self if he missed out on bowling at Perth . Just remember though he did get that 70 at melbourne so i dont think he is in terrible touch, he will just be mad he missed out on making a decent score at his home ground

Re: Australia vs India - Border Gavaskar Trophy

Yeah, he's not in terrible form. He made good scores against Sri Lanka too. But he hasn't got as many runs he would have liked. Ponting and Gilchrist are the other two batsmen in the Australian lineup who will be hungry for runs. Harbhajan has dismissed Ponting 8 times in the last 8 tests so he needs to think of a way to counter him. Although, he might not have to if Harbhajan gets banned.

Re: Australia vs India - Border Gavaskar Trophy

You know thats just what i was thinking. The one thing i dont get is why Gilchrist is so badly out of touch. He did well in the last chappell-hadlee game, scored 50 off 25 balls or something similar. And its odd to see why arguably the current best player struggles so badly whenever Harbhajan comes on to bowl. its not like hes struggled against other quality finger spin, such as vettori and panesar, seems quite odd to me

I forgot about Laxman! Agreed, move Dravid lower down the order, as it is he creates pressure on the those batting with him as he scores so slowly.

For the Aussies, it may be a chance to get the extra pace man in, at the expense of Hogg. They have slow bowling options in Symonds and Clarke and the next test may be the perfect chance to bed Tait in.
