i know there is no cricket on. thanx for confirming that. my issue was that leading up to the gf, there was alot of mt clear people on this site talking about the game & themselves (theres a surprise!!!) & then as soon as they lost, there was nothing (another surprise).
You did ask why there wasn't anyone talking about cricket on here.
Maybe you should be on the lookout to try and get your mates involved with cricket for next season. Even go on the lookout for people who can umpire cricket.

I will try and find some mates to play with or perhaps just join a club on my own if that doesnt work. If I did find enough mates to play, how do we start up our own version of the Mt Clear CC self-appreciation forum?

you should try get some of your mates to come onto this site and have there say. The more the better.
Hey can anyone confirm the rumour that North are trying to (or have) sign Jason Arnberger the ex Victorian player. He could come in very handy for them especially with Carteledge not playing this season.

lol......jock spratling started that rumour as a joke to see how many legs it could gather, & by the sounds of it, some people in ballarat will believe anything they hear.

Re: Ballarat Cricket Association

As usual will take me to get things happening. Always have to be the "one" don't I. Well it appears as though my replacement at the combine in Brett "interleague captain" Jones is going to have a year off because of 'family reasons' after not getting the nod to lead. Lynchy got the gig and BJ decided to spend time with the kids. The Hill get Knowlesy back-with the co-coach gig, does that limit his JD'S friday nights. Point unlikely to win a game. And Wendouree (heres a surprise) to be strong. And for all those kids out there who were wondering I'm as good as ever!

Thats not what I've heard. Pyke back to Essendon, & their attack was very reliant on Dipper last year, so who have they picked up? Pyke a huge loss.

Get a few of your mates to come on here to have a look at the site and if they like it get them to join up. I am pretty sure we would have some great conversations about cricket during the season, just like many people do during the footy season on bigfooty.

Re: Ballarat Cricket Association

Looks like we could be in for another dry summer. What the news of the ground situations. Do we have sufficient water supply this year? Lets hope its not by last year. At the end of the season, you werent trying to stop the ball. More survive.

If they can get Eamon Johnson on the park a bit more this year it would be handy. Those two are a good combo. Eamon to intimidate and dipper to clean up. There probably short a good spinner (as are every club excpet Point). Webby does a solid job but can sometimes be very nice to be facing as i saw in the Semi last year.

Its gonna be a very dry summer. i can tell ya that naps has just been drought proofed, has a limitless bore put down and new sprinkler systems installed over the entire ground...

Re: Ballarat Cricket Association

G'day guys, I am a bit of an out of towner. I just saw the name Bam Bam and was wondering whether you are Chris Bambury, I assume from reading your posts that you are. I am the fella who is mates with Thatch that played against you at Country Week in about 2002. He gave me some photos to give to you, not sure whether or not you would remember me. Anyway, just saw the name and thought I would say g'day if it is you. I can't make out from the posts whether your side ended up winning or losing the grand final last year, and I have looked on Ballarat Cricket Associations site and they have the results of all games except the finals.

Hello all,

New member of Big Cricket and interested in anyones predictions for the 2007/08 season, Can Ballarat-Redan go back to back? How will Bambury's departure effect the Combine? Who are the challengers? and any news on player movements including new recruits to the comp. Look forward to posting throughout the season.

Looks like Wendouree will be the team to beat this year. Heath Pyke will be staying put and i feel they will have some unfinished business this year. B/Redan have lost a few and are under a new fresh captain in Lynchy. Good bloke and i hope he goes well. I hear that Hoey might be back also because of Bambury leaving.
Mount Clear will be there abouts again. i dont think there losing any. Naps would want to improve after last year, they were the under achievers. Any news about Point or East? Is Irving coming back from England? Itll be interesting anyway

word is irving is staying over there for 18 months. yates has been appointed skipper at east.

apparantly at naps, chris walter has returned this season. was prev c/c, but is returning just as a player, which will bolster them.

& from what i can gather, point have lost plenty so may struggle this year.

I think Chris Bambury had denied that he was going to leave.

Sorry I have been absent for a while. The geelong internet musn't connect with Ballarat. Been down there sewing up my contract which says that I get 4900 sledges a year before anyone at the club will have a word to me saying maybe I should pull my head in. My plan didn't quite work of sending out our match winning partnership at 9 and 10 while the rest of us knocked the shine off it. Maybe my mistake was not telling Fletcher enough that he was losing the game for Mt Clear... or the fact I was stupid enough to possibly say that once! Lots of cricket left in the game but in answer to your question Golly I can only assume that if we lose this game I would be going away for a long, long time after saying that they weren't good enough last time, or for the last four years! Shame none of you blokes on this site are as good as me.

Re: Ballarat Cricket Association
