P.Kane will be at Brown Hill next season.....
And changes will be made to the 1XI side for season 07/08......

Is that a hint that P.Kane will be taking over the reigns from Whitey?? And does that mean Whitey has to drop to the thirds which is a more appropriate standard for someone of his skill level?

Lads, your mail is pretty spot on. Dangerous left armer Brett Mason is injured and will not play. Replacement will be either Yeany who has not played for sometime and could breakdown at any stage in the match, but still has that killer instinct and is a great bowler for the first 10 overs. The fifths player you spoke of is Rory Meddick who bowls some smoke and terrorised some 5th XI bats a recently. He is clearly better than a fifths bowler, but how embarrassing for the 2's bowlers to be overlooked.

Either way which ever bloke they pick all he needs to do is bowl 8 overs with the new pill and then Allan & Bambury will bowl the rest (no variety in the attack). My pick is J.Yean out of retirement, and Ballarat Redan to take out the the three-peet.........of GF losses!!

Well the Grand Final is delicately poised At the moment. Mounties have the edge, being 140 runs ahead with 8 wickets remaining. Mounties will plan to bat for as long as possible but it will be interesting to see how Redan go about it. The way they have played all season has been to contain the other team and back their batters to make the runs. But now after Mt clear getting the 1st innings points, all they have to do is bat. It doesn't matter how bogged down they get. The more overs they face is the less that Ballarat Redan get to. Should be a good finish.

I doubt that Mount Clear will go out there thinking all they have to do is bat for as long as possible. That mindset is how you lose the game. Mount Clear will bat as normal and will be hoping to get a lead of 300+ which should be enough.

It's to early to know who will be taking over the reigns.......Paul has said he won't be doing it though......But, Plenty of Changes to be made.

I have heard word of that also, not sure if there's much truth to that........But i've also heard he's been offered to Captain B'Rat Redan for season 07/08 since Bambury will be departing.

Where did you get that info from? I am just asking that's all because I haven't heard anything of Bambury announcing his retirement at all?

Just heard it around town as you do.......Heard he was moving away, no retirement, thats why the offer put to Knowles........All could just be a rumour though.

Spot on the money Golden! Bambury has hinted to be playing in Geelong next year. Rumour was that he wasn't happy with being reported by a young under 14 umpire, so he has been thinking of leaving. Not 100% though. Don't think Knowles will coach the Combine. Don't even think he has trained that much this year.

Agree. Mounties dont strike me as a team to just sit on it. would rather have a quick lead of 300 than take a whole day to only make a handful more runs. The more the better

Sorry I have been absent for a while. The geelong internet musn't connect with Ballarat. Been down there sewing up my contract which says that I get 4900 sledges a year before anyone at the club will have a word to me saying maybe I should pull my head in. My plan didn't quite work of sending out our match winning partnership at 9 and 10 while the rest of us knocked the shine off it. Maybe my mistake was not telling Fletcher enough that he was losing the game for Mt Clear... or the fact I was stupid enough to possibly say that once! Lots of cricket left in the game but in answer to your question Golly I can only assume that if we lose this game I would be going away for a long, long time after saying that they weren't good enough last time, or for the last four years! Shame none of you blokes on this site are as good as me.

Congrats. How did your team go today? Let's hope that they had a win. Good luck next year.

Look out, 3 months after the down hill skiers choked, someone has surfaced with some words of wisdom. Wonder if the rest of the Mt Clear boys that contribute as to how good they are will be back?

Re: Ballarat Cricket Association

well considering there is no cricket on, there is nothing to talk about. if you have something to write about then i would reply. but, you havent (or anyone else for that matter) posted anything. what would you like to talk about?
From the impression of the first two post, you will be looking to get under a few peoples skins on this site. Good Luck!!!

Re: Ballarat Cricket Association

i know there is no cricket on. thanx for confirming that. my issue was that leading up to the gf, there was alot of mt clear people on this site talking about the game & themselves (theres a surprise!!!) & then as soon as they lost, there was nothing (another surprise).
