Coronet played Darley today. coronet won by 1 wicket after needing 30 with 8 wicktes in hand. Darley took 7 for 24 and Coronet nearly choked. Heard mt clear won by 10 wickets and not sure of point v brown hill.

rain at naps didnt let up. we took the covers off which were under about 4 inches of water.

not sure about point v hill but think east v bredan called off. making for a very very interesting run home.

coronet in the four?! is it even possible?! bet no one considered that?! that said though they have naps and point vying for the same spot dont think it would be possible. wendouree with mt clear next week...

yes well there will be a number of teams happy to see Darley lose as they would have gone 3 points clear in 4th but now like Coronet sit 3 points out. I'd say point have 3rd spot cemented and 4th is a toss up between Wendouree, Naps & Ballarat Redan.

The run home -
BRCC - Brown Hill, North, Mt. Clear
Wend - Mt. Clear, Brown Hill, Darley (in Darley)
Naps - Darley (at Naps), Coronet, Point
Point - North, Darley (in Darley), Naps

Going by what "should" happen, round 12 will be an absolute belter in regards to final 4 positions.

looking at the same thing .... predicted top 4

Mt Clear
East
point
Wendouree

As you say last round could change last two positions in four if results go different ways

Mt Clear and East to play in Granny after Semis washed out

Well Ball redan will need to repeat last years granny result in round 12 to make it. Wend really need to knock off mount clear this week. Naps look the goods for me but must beat point which won't be easy. It will probably come down to percentage which will favour wendouree. Point look safe.

If Naps do knock off Point and Mount Clear can knock off Wendouree, we could see the reds miss the finals for the first time in a long while. Results still have to fall a certain way though.

Top Four could end up (depending on results)

Mt Clear
East
Point
Naps

Wendouree
others

Re: Ballarat Cricket Association

Scenario:- Rounds 10 & 11

Point beat North & Darley total 42 points on the ladder
Naps beat Darley & Coronet total 39 points
BRCC beat BHCC & North total 39 points
Wend lose to MCCC and beat BHCC total 33 points

Ladder - MCCC on top by alot
EBCC 2nd by enough
Point 3rd on 42
Naps & BRCC 4th on 39, % difference
Wend 6th on 33

Draw:- MCCC vs BRCC (fight for 4th spot)
DCC vs Wend (pending results, fight for 4th spot)
Point Vs Naps (pending results, fight for 3rd & 4th spots)
North vs East (pending prior results, push for outright to get top spot)
CCCC vs BHCC (sorry guys, declare 4 innings and hit the pub early)

Looking back the season to date, nothing is out of the question but if teams are serious this should be the way it all pans out.

Just remember wendouree could knock off Mount Clear this week and also be on 39 points. Mounties will be missing a couple of big ones.

Absolutely, if any team can do it they are it. That would make for a VERY interesting next few rounds.

I'll play devil's advocate here, would Mt. Clear "control" a result or two to finish top but play a team in 4th come semi time to advantage themselves in any way? Not for a minute saying that they would but I have been known to be wrong on occasions...............many as my wife would tell you.

Another variable you could throw in is that Country week is straight after the sat/sun game in feb meaning blokes could have played 6 days or more in a row of cricket coming into the first week of round 12. Wendouree have a few players and I think naps have about the same in the squad.

Simon Allan for us, Luke Whinney on the reserves list too. Simon will struggle with injury with that much cricket in a short amount of time.

Yeah i can see where your coming from but i think Mount Clear would like to win for two main reasons (not to mention its morally wrong): one that losing even one game will give east the chance to go on top and i cant remember the last time a team went through undefeated. Did East?

Can't believe the boys from down the highway lost against Coronet, that should be the end of any hope of finals for them and should keep them off zumper for a while anyway.

Mt. Clear v East Brat:
I'm backing Mt.Clear for this game. Their negative style of cricket should ensure that everyone is on the fence by the thrid over which will make it hard for East to gain any momentum.

Wise man it doesn't seem to have stopped you, the only club that has ever bagged Mt Clear for negative style of play is Darley. I think i have heard nearly half of their players whinge about this, and then in a later post you seemed to not know much about Ballarat Cricket, and then you asked who are i think it was Parker and Blake from Darley, obviously trying to get some talk about your own players.

Make up your mind here Wise Man you seem to change alot, are you from down the highway or not because i think most people here would agree that we think you are

Gee 'Big Guy', you're right, you got me, I'm from Darley and just want to pump up my own, and the clubs ego ... You knobhead!! I know a couple of the Darley boys who used to go to school in Ballarat, so keep in contact with them and they tell me about the club and players and so on. As well as hearing stories from mates at my current club. Keep your chin up though 'Big Guy', i'm sure one day you'll do something worthwhile that will make your parents proud. Can't see it happening in the near future though!

Why can't you believe Coronet beat Darley wise man. Going into the game Darley had beaten north, brown hill & ballarat redan. coronet had beaten ballarat redan & north and hadn't played brown hill. The form was nearly 50/50

Coronet should have won probably 4 or 5 down but panicked after losing a couple of quick ones. Darley for a team looking to play finals were pretty undiciplined in terms of wides down leg side and also dropped 5 or so catches.

Quite amusing considering you admitted playing thirds in a previous post. Maybe after mummy or daddy tucks you into bed tonight, you could try and dream of doing something worthwhile with your life.
