Re: Ballarat Cricket Association

i've noticed that a lot of the juniors, at all clubs, can be a bit lippy these days to the older blokes, especially in the lower grades where i kick around. i've had a few "chats" with some of them. i dont know whether the younger blokes are more arrogant these days or have more confidence in there own ability. i knew when i was 15/16 years old to keep my mouth shut against the older blokes. Are we showing the younger kids to much respect? Do we not sledge them because they are juniors? im starting to change my tune about them. If they are juniors playing seniors does that make them immune from some "mental disintegration"?

i think the problem with the juniors is they see a bit of lip on tv, which is usually highlighted by the commentators. they see it as trendy because the test and one day players from all nations do it. they only way to deal with it is have senior players setting a good example to the kids which i think would happen at most clubs with the exception of one or two.

i know from my younger day it helped me when senior players would pull me back into line if i said anything, basically because i hadn't achieved anything then and had no right to speak.

Mate you should perhaps learn to shut your mouth before posting. You have no manners.
It doesn't matter where we are from. We are on here just to have a bit of fun. We don't want somebody to come on here and post as though they have got something stuck up their bums.
Some serious growing up by you is needed here.

Re: Ballarat Cricket Association

I just wanted to throw this out there, after reading recent comments made by a few 'noteables' on here... It is my opinion that the recycled has beens at east (haha, i found the yellow cap reference quite amusing) are possibly the most overrated team in the BCA.
Lets look at the facts for a minute here. The have yet to play Mt.Clear and were far from comprehensive in round 2 against Wendouree. Add to this the fact they are nothing short of clinging to second spot and would quite possibly be out of the four had they not scraped home aginainst some lower sides... They are also playing some very negative cricket as seen this round by 'sheilding' one certain opener from the 9 overs left to play on the first saturday. This move clearly backfired as the were already one down in the first over, clearly not the right move to make lads. It is my opinion that the club will seriously struggle come finals time and the question remains, even with all that 'experience', can the has beens and recycled players step up when it counts???

Let me no what you think...

The coming weekend will give an idea about where teams stand in the run into finals. Mt. Clear v's East is 1 v's 2. Each side has only lost once for the season, so deserve to be ranked highly. Mt.Clear is 1-1 with Wendouree and East 1-0. While Point, Ball-Redan and Naps are still in the hunt, these three sides seem to be in the best position with mix of experience, youth and talent. Can't discount East with recent finals success.

We'll know plenty more come next Monday with the washup of the top of the table clash.

Wendouree got over Mt.Clear yesterday. What happened in the other games?

East easily accounted fro Coronet, Wright 150odd and the sheilded Yates got a quick fire 70-80 (so i guess it did work)

Naps knocked off Darely, Brown Hill destroyed Redans finals chances by smashing them and i haven't heard about Golden Point but would imagine they would have chased down the runs

Naps had a big win over darley which should provide the big percentage boost that was needed...makes things just that little more interesting...however i think that the last game between naps and point is going to be the big one with naps v coronet this week and point v darley it sets up the last game as a winner take all...

If you know so much about what is going on at east then you would have known that the player that opened the betting was not able to play the second week..... well i think not and until you really know what is going on don't comment.... we at east don't need to hide anyone and anytime you are ready just stroll down to the east nets and try your self out... and if you have a look at the ladder i don't think east can lose second spot so if that is what you call just holding on then i would hate to see what happened when we are in good form.....
