Couple of games this week.

Does anyone think:
BRCC can get the runs against the Hill
Mounties can get the runs against the red caps
Coros bowl east out and stay in the hunt.

All these could cause upsets. any thoughts???

Need a big partnership to get momentum going. Whinney & Lynch need to fire. No landry, no wakeling. tough task

mt clear going well but wend due to fire up and 360 is a good score to defend.

East to win

Re: Ballarat Cricket Association

With the country week draw out how does everyone think ballarat will go...??
Monday @Windy Hill VS Bendigo
Tuesday @ Altona VS Mornington
Wednesday @ Carlton VS Ferntree Gully
Thursday @ Northcote VS Geelong
To me it looks as though they will beat Ferntree Gully but apart from that face a tough run in the other games.
Anyones thoughts????

I would say BRCC are a chance to chase the runs down
Mounties may find it a tough ask against wendouree depending on how many Johnson takes
Coros no chance even if they started bowling today

Re: Ballarat Cricket Association

G'day guys. Been interesting looking at some of the issues floating around the forum over the past few weeks. Couldn't resist any longer in putting forward my thoughts.

I reckon the BCA still needs to have 2 day games, but we also need to develop the other versions, ie. one day and 2020. Like test cricket, the 2 dayers give the chance for players to really develop and 'test' their skills. Listen to players like Gilchrist last week, the top players see the longer form of the game as 'real' cricket.

We should be looking at our competition to ultimately produce as good cricketers as possible, striving to get to premier cricket, vic country, state cricket and maybe one day Ballarat might produce a test player. Would Shane Harwood have gone as far with all one day games (max 9 overs)???

2 dayers spread the result over 160 overs, meaning the better side has the best chance of winning - encourages clubs to improve. Having all one-dayers could also see guys batting below 7 hardly getting a hit all year.

We could probably do with a better one-day format - 3 doesn't seem like the right number when country week is all one-dayers. Also lower grades could play more one-dayers.

Hopefully a good hit will get you going on the weekend. How is Dasha going? What about BJ? Last I heard he was in China for work? He must be nearly finished uni? Isn't that why he's not playing?

Interested to see if Dasha coaches next year. Any thoughts? I have heard some rumours but reluctant to mention anything on here

Dash is going fine Wophead. Jones is enjoying being a dad and having the summer off to spend time with the little one. He'll be back next year for us with a fresh outlook I think.

As for Dash coaching next year? I would assume he wants to, but who knows where. Heard a whisper that he might want to put his hand up to coach the Womens team next year, but I may have misheard as it could have been put his hand up the Womens team skirts...........

That's good mate. Dash is a champion fella. I'm sure he'll be in high demand next year. Yeah I heard that rumour too about the ladies team. No doubt the BRCC will be enquiring about his services?

Good to hear about Jonesy. Pass on my regards. He helped me out with a few 'problems' last year.

Are you ready to go for the weekend or what? The best time of year to make runs!!!!!

I would like to think that if Dash is on the market then we would certainly have a chat to him. His histroy is with us and I personally would love him back in some capacity next year.

I'd pass on your regards to Jonesy if I knew who you were. Maybe I'll get onto him and get him to sign in and you can hook up a wild love making session for helping you with your "problems" last year.

I am most certainly ready to have a massive crack tomorrow. I have something to prove and will settle for nothing less than a ton and a victory in the magoos!

Ha ha.. Good point, mate. You've got me. I'll clarify.... My problems were career/worked-related, not cricket or sexual!!!!! As much as you would like them to be!!

In regard to the Dasha thing, it would certainly be more worthwhile to have him solely 'coach' and not be a training co-ordinator (& part time coach) like out at naps. He loves the technical aspects of the game.

I'd love to explain who I was but it is great to say whatever I want with no accountability!!!!!!!! Only joking.

Re: Ballarat Cricket Association

totally agree carpet legs...one day cricket isnt the answer. after playing in england this year (all onedayers) i loved coming back 2 play 2 dayers. at the end of the season the 4 best teams usually play off. im not saying that wouldnt be the case if we had onedayers but i couldnt imagine playing a oneday final.. i love the 4 day grand final. its much like a test match where the best team over the 4 days wins. it not only tests ur physical skills but also mentally..

You would have to ask Hammer's permission first. Dash only goes to where Hammer decides to go.

Re: Ballarat Cricket Association

A man, on his way home from work was stuck in traffic on the Monash freeway which was much worse than usual. Noticing a policeman walking among the stalled cars, he asked, "Officer, what's the holdup?"

The policeman says: "Wayne Carey is so depressed about being caught beating up his girlfriend he's stopped his car and is threatening to douse himself in petrol and set himself on fire.

He says his family hates him, fans hate him, his former team mates hate him and he now won't have the $1million from his footy show contract.

I'm walking around taking up a collection for him."

"Oh, really?" the man says. "How much have you collected so far?"

"So far only 18 litres, but a lot of people are still siphoning.":)

After 3 or 4 years at naps, Dash may be ready for a new challenge?
