AH No Respect, thought you had dropped off? No good king hits lately very quiet around the traps.

Gee Collier was looking fast and accurate last night, I haven't seen him bowl that good in a couple of years, an he said he was only going at 85%! your thoughts? Another week in the 2's?

yeah saw first hand Corra's 2nd innings on Sunday and between Thommo, Ash Ringin, Trav Faulkhead and Cordo there wasn't much reprrieve for the Corra bats. out of 40 odd overs reckon there were probably only 1/2 dozen or so bad balls and sprouler got a wicket off one of those............. Admittedly Corra were only looking to survive but the bolwing looked pretty impressive to me. And with C.Walter in form adding some backbone to that middle order for young guns Rowdy, Banners and Faulkhead to bat around not too sure that StevieO and his boys will have everything their own way. totally biased I know but.....................

Brand new grassy green deck at the Eastern should make for an interesting one then.

With all the juniors playing alot more senior cricket these days with the under 18 rule of only bowling 6 over straight, should that be changed, with the 16/17yrs out of junior cricket should the rule still apply when there've reached full senior cricket?

It should be changed I think. Once they're out of juniors they should at least be allowed to bowl 9 straight. It hurts a team to have a kid who can play at 16 but only allowed to bowl 6 straight. We have a 16 year old in our 1's who we'd like to have bowling for a 10 over spells if not more when he's going well but can't because of the rules.
For a team with a lack of quality bowlers it has hurt us not being able to bowl him for more than 6 at a time. One dayers are the killer too, you have to bowl them early to have a chance to give them the 9 overs and some games may not warrant that.
Can this be something I put in proposal to the BCA? Thoughts from the Zumper crew?

is that to entice Leechy to win and the toss and bowl when you know its gonna be a good deck for batting SteveO? Not quite sure how to read you. if you're on this forum Leechy me thinks shoulder arms at that one. Gonna be a cracking game. good enough to make me wanna retire and come up and watch it but I've lost half my super in the last couple of months so looks like I'll just have to keep battling on in the 3rds.

by the by winner of Naps v Point 3rds game probably gets a finals berth too. hows your 3rds numbers looking this week SteveO?

Dont worry boys. The Darley Lions will get up this game so you can both (Naps & Point) play finals. They are much improved on previous years and deserve a big scalp going into next season. Wendouree have been known to choke as well in important games. Clearly a better side but just need steeny, capey or dawso to post a big score and game over.

Dunno if just one of those guys post a big score game over???? Wendouree have some serious batting power coming into form including M.Skinner, Pyke, S.Miller, C.Jenkins and Dixon. Wendouree batters have been in some good touch and Darley may need a couple of it's stars to get big scores:confused:

Won't happen, I'm afraid. Alan tells me the lack of discipline in the middle order has killed Darley this year and it happened against us.

Mountie, being new to ballarat cricket as i am this year, i have found it extremely difficult to interact with those from other sides due to most opposition players going their own way after a match. I know at east we make an effort where possible to hang around for a beer or two after the game, it must be noted that even though we play at east high, our club is just down the road at russel square and the ONLY mountie player seen after 4matches of cricket was linc blake. That is ONE of 44. Subsequently my opinions are based purely on the experiences between 1 and 6pm. Ash may very well be a good bloke, however i did take exception to the fact that all he could conjure up was plain verbal abuse after contributing NOTHING off TWO balls. To also give a young kid a spray at jd's as he was placing a bet saturday night indicates that Ash probably thinks alot more highly of himself than EVERYONE at east ever will. For the time being Ash, you're a ******** and you embarassed yourself and although they will not admit it, i dare say fletch and jeffers were pretty embarassed by the SH** you went on with sunday.

Well its been a hell of a long time since I've posted on here and looks like plenty of 'tools' have arrived in the last 100 odd pages of posts. Lets get a few issues straight

Eastern should host the best A-grade games each week. It was a disgrace to see point (6th) vs darley(9) seconds play there, while Mountie vs Custard heads A-grade top of the table clash was played at the goat track at East high. Someone justify to me how this is good for Ballarat cricket?

Ash George, plays it hard on the field as it should be, good on him. Off the field a great kid, who wouldn't hurt a fly. He may have crossed a line, but you will find was only responding to verbal threats of bashings from antagonists in 'tough guy' Simpkin, and Irving. Lessons learnt already and look for a response on the field in the next couple of games.

Jez Collier ( a great bloke by the way) not bowling smoke as quoted, only just rolling the arm over, got 2 wickets in the 2's which were a batsman out of form and the number 11.

And Cobber (from about page 15)......mounties did not take the gas last year, it was a great grand final, Ball Redan won the game when it counted and the support of a couple of interesting decisions by the men in white. Well deserved. They will bounce back this year.

Although it will continue to irk Mount Clear for the next millenia, it was their choice to leave the Eastern Oval in the 80s to the greener pastures of the Ballarat College of Advanced Education and while Ron Jennings, Alan Parker and Don Jacobsson have a bum pointing to the ground the Eastern will remain the home ground of the GPCC.

Are Mount Clear fulfilling their obligations to the BCA re: providing a turf ground for their club?
