yeah you could say that but only from a couple of jokers that just don't know when it is a good time to say something... but mind you the 2 blokes that i'm talking about did nothing for there team if anything they fired up the yellow caps

maybe you should look at the jokers on your team before you start sledging away at others. and i kno for a fact that the way east carried on has only fired the mounties up. only time will tell i guess

must of been a very firey clash

selection dilemma for east you would think with young browny doing so well and helping them get over the line, surely he couldn't be dropped this week. will collier be back in this week?

I can fill in on the Steve Nicko incident. He played a Ballarat game with him during the year and was just asking him how he hit them cause he thought they were on talking terms, the fact that he just ignored shows a bit of arrogance on his side. there was no chesting there. Im guessing your mate wrighty took it the wrong way. The majority of the mountie boys are pretty placid blokes.

The fact that i just ignored nico was quite arrogant. Must go to show what i think of the trash that comes from his mouth and his ability in general..... You are right though, the majority of the mountie lads aren't bad blokes... But just remember don, if it takes 4 eggs to make an omlette and one of those eggs is rotten, your left with a SH** omlette....

not that i know of? got told to go back on zumper when i was out but could of said it to half there blokes as well i would be thinking.

if you take to heart what is said on an online forum there is something wrong.

and may i say the spread was the best i can remember from cricket. i think all home teams should supply the spread

What type of spread was put forth swardsy? I think the east game at darley coincided with an 8year olds birthday... all that was missing was the fairy bread, nice touch however to put a feed on.

Im not sure if you no me waka but i have only just clicked over 70kg's in the last 5months... I think nico may have backed himself. I also hear the waubra g/f was a prime example of the sheepdog getting hooved after venturing too close to the flock....

well said steggles for a bloke who done nothing in the game and went out till 4 am he has to take a good hard look at himself... good on brownie the 17 year old for hitting him for a couple of nice 6's to give eatsies the win and A.George gave his captain and Mr cricket (P.J) him self a mouth full after he bowled 3 overs for 30 what a winner and his mate steve nicko going up to a bloke and chesting him coz he made 150 the week before what a clown any wonder he got knocked out in a grand final.. is there any truth to a story i heard that A.George missed a footy grand final for spitting on someone.. if so what a great bloke...|@

Can give that report the big 10-4 there no respect. I may as well throw my two bobs worth into the ring on this issue. Had the 'pleasure' of having a chat with Ash George early in the season, it became apparent very quickly that himself and scud are sitting on roughly the same IQ. The only major difference you could pick between the two is that by all reports scud packs a MASSIVE c*** down his pants each day, which going on this, would make him a better bloke that one Ash George.

Matty, when Dad played for Point in the 60s and 70s they shared the Eastern with Mt Clear and trained on deadly rolled wickets over near the bowling club. Unfortunately for you blokes the powers that be at Mt Clear left and went to, at the time, greener pastures.

The fact is it's our home ground and our kids deserve to play on our dunghill when it is their term in just the same way your kids can play on St Pats number 2 when it is their turn.

It's not our fault our home ground is the best country Vic ground in the same way East Point footy club have the same problem. It's just a fact.

Look, East will have a great set-up at Russell Square in a few years. We've been at the Eastern for 98 years so that's how it is.

Nice trip down memory lane there Steve - must be a sign of getting old for us both - as well as the small problem of old bits of tendon just snapping for no reason. Not sure what the deal was in the mid 90's, but I can remember playing East at the Eastern as well as Point. ?was this a case of co-tenants or did we have a "1sts games on best grounds" policy back then???

Seems like your solution is to develop more better grounds around town so that all 1sts and 2nds play on quality grounds and tracks. Might get you to keep an eye on a turf wicket at Mt. Clear during the day:eek:

Just clarifying Swardsy's point - is the thousands of dollars spent developing the Eastern on the ground or the rooms / nets, etc???

Good to see Ballarat got off to a good start beating Bendigo at Country Week today. Always very close competition and side not far away last year from knocking Bendigo off. Bit of cream came to the surface with the batting of Steenholt and Irving.

it is on the clubrooms nets etc but i guess its like footy when you have under 12s playing at the eastern some weeks and seniors playing at the sandpit of wendouree.

just lucky to have it i guess, i think most decks have been fairly good this year though? not much we can do in a drought regarding the outfields

I think you blokes are being a bit harsh. I know Ash and he is a top kid. he wouldn't hurt a fly. I reckon all kids these days have big mouths when they are on the field but off the field are totally different. You can't judge a person based on what happens on a cricket field.

ash has always seemed like a top bloke to me as well each time i have played with or against him, what happens on a cricket field shouldn't be taken off it

Sometimes we say things in the heat of competition, I think the greater test of character is a blokes ability to firstly shape up to the consequences next time he is on the field and secondly to show people it was an on field incident by being a descent bloke off the field.

If i based all of my opinions of Ballarat players from how they were on the field then id probably say alot of blokes (team mates included) are wankers. But the point is you dont, ill always make an attempt to chat to a bloke after a game and if they still have a problem well at least my conscience is clear.

Mountie, being new to ballarat cricket as i am this year, i have found it extremely difficult to interact with those from other sides due to most opposition players going their own way after a match. I know at east we make an effort where possible to hang around for a beer or two after the game, it must be noted that even though we play at east high, our club is just down the road at russel square and the ONLY mountie player seen after 4matches of cricket was linc blake. That is ONE of 44. Subsequently my opinions are based purely on the experiences between 1 and 6pm. Ash may very well be a good bloke, however i did take exception to the fact that all he could conjure up was plain verbal abuse after contributing NOTHING off TWO balls. To also give a young kid a spray at jd's as he was placing a bet saturday night indicates that Ash probably thinks alot more highly of himself than EVERYONE at east ever will. For the time being Ash, you're a ******** and you embarassed yourself and although they will not admit it, i dare say fletch and jeffers were pretty embarassed by the SH** you went on with sunday.
