who'd win that footy game.

darley and wendouree would do well

naps would have a fast running game with alot of young footballers

we (point) would qualify for under 16's.

Sure you'll have a good time Waka. Does look like a lot of players do read this site, however would still be good to get a players survey around so that there is a wider range of blokes making a comment.

The list you posted a couple of days ago looks good. I still think that a lot of 1st XI players would support the ongoing emphasis on 2 day games. I can remember me, SteveO and Irv all keen on continuing 2 dayers because they present more of a test / challenge..............Hang on, when I look at that shortlist, maybe its just the old guys who support two dayers !!!!

I think a player survey is a good idea too. In your list Waka you have mentioned that some people want all 2 dayers, some want all one dayers and some want an 8 team comp with 7 one dayers and 7 two dayers. which one are you actually going to suggest? Are you just going to say that the current fxture needs changing and here are the alternatives?

I think what I'll do is go in there and let him know what all of the ideas are, then go through them to see if there's any chance of having them tweaked/changed/implemented, and get the reasons why/why not etc. The player suvery will come next I think, let's see what can and can't be done then take a survey of the outcomes?
I've changed my selfish opinion of having all OneDay games to keep the 9 TwoDayers and play 2 Sat/Sun OneDayers against 2 different teams. One early around late Oct/Early Nov, and one mid Feb (not around Country week). At least then we could get another 2 chances of 6 points in. The 8 team comp I don't think will/should happen. The more I think about it the more I think there actually should be more teams, not less.
The thing I'll push most is the 20/20 comp, we can have it so much better than the boring old school way we've put up with the last 3 years. More turf assistance would be good too, can't have too many turf wickets around the place (I understand we're in the worst ever but for the future when it rains it would be good).
I'm gunna do my best, and I don't expect all of these things to happen by next year, some things will need to be planned over a couple of seasons but as long as the ball is rolling and we keep on them we should see some changes for our benefit.

Re: Ballarat Cricket Association

OK a little bit of fun now....nothing bout sledging, who'll win the GF ,survey's, bca fixture set up etc etc.

C'mon everyone some thoughts from the club your associated with would be great to read.

Tell us the Most underated and overrated player at the club your associated with is.
Now this is where your fake name, or alias is handy!!!!

Not that I'm a present player, but I'll start with the club that I follow BRCC.

Underated = Edmends (Got the makings of top notch opener in the next few years) / Whinney (much much better than what his Coronet days suggest)

Overated = Landry (seems to do well only against the lower teams) / Lynch (only maybe cos he is past his day???)

Ok Ok, I know I listed 2 for each, but not being directly involved I couldnt split a couple...

Anyone else give us insight to there thoughts from there club?

Good clubs dont bag their own players.

Underarated at Darley would be Andrew Blake - 20 something wickets for the year (will win the bowling average at the club) and a solid lower order batsman. Stepped up a level this season.

Re: Ballarat Cricket Association

Waka 05, are you the most boring person ever! No one gives a continental about your 'new competition'! At the end of the day you will have no bearing on the way Ballarat Cricket is run because no-one knows who you are!

Lets get down to something a little more productive. I am looking forward to the finals. Lets get some serious predictions! My opinion is that Wendouree are the real smokeys in this competition. If they can get their bowling right i believe they may just sneak under the radar and scoop the prize

I agree. Who stoops that low to bag his own club. Hopefully he is man enough to say it to their faces

Hi Fat side and welcome to Ballarat, Victoria. Obviously you've never been before or you would have had some idea about what the 30-40 odd people on here have been talking about for 2 years and have finally put together some suggestions for the BCA. most people in ballarat cricket know who waka is or of his reputation. for someone new to the forum u certainly have made an impression straight up!!

Re: Ballarat Cricket Association

Well i must admit 2 things. I have only read a couple of the last few pages and i didn't realise it has been an ongoing idea over the last couple of years on how to structure the league but to me it gets so boring. Also i wouldn't have a clue who Waka05.

Apologies sleeper for my lack of research on the subject. I suppose being a new boy on the scene i was just a bit to eager to get part of this dynamic new fad of Big Cricket and perhaps jumped the gun a tad
