Quite amusing considering you admitted playing thirds in a previous post. Maybe after mummy or daddy tucks you into bed tonight, you could try and dream of doing something worthwhile with your life.

like trying to bag someone on the internet behind a fake name?
hope your having fun with that, might want to think of something other that parents or mummy and daddy if you want to try and bag someone

anyways talking about real cricket, im picking wendouree to upset mt clear this week, clark is a big spot missing and with blake, dont seem to be that strong in the bowling stocks anymore

Why can't you believe Coronet beat Darley wise man. Going into the game Darley had beaten north, brown hill & ballarat redan. coronet had beaten ballarat redan & north and hadn't played brown hill. The form was nearly 50/50

Coronet should have won probably 4 or 5 down but panicked after losing a couple of quick ones. Darley for a team looking to play finals were pretty undiciplined in terms of wides down leg side and also dropped 5 or so catches.

Thanks Napisan, at least someone is willing to have a normal conversation. I just would've thought that Darley's whole season was riding on that game so they might have put in a better effort. Perhaps not, thats one less team that needs to be talked about in regards to finals now.

how can you forget Darley when they are one game off 3rd with 3 games left?

Darley are not in the hunt Big Guy because they would need to win all 3 to make it. I could see them maybe sneaking one but most likely none. That loss would have sapped all of their enthusiasm i reckon.

Looking at the draw, they play Naps/Sebas, Golden Point and Wendouree. You cannot seriously tell me that they can win all of them.

Re: Ballarat Cricket Association

they did miss m cape on the weekend

getting him back would be a major boost for that side you would have to think

yes but to win all 3 from here would be nearly impossible considering they haven't beaten anyone that currently sits in the four.

Re: Ballarat Cricket Association

fair call
this week is a big round then
could put some teams a game clear of others vying for the top spots

I am going to be honest blokes and tell you all that it is pretty immature to continually bag players/teams throughout the BCA.
One thing we seem to forget is that the BCA have put together a very competititive association which is becoming more and more even.

Any team can win on any day. I unfortunately didn't play 1 minute due to rain but happened to journey over to Ballarat Grammer.

Darley and Coronet played out an awesome game which was turned into chaos when Coronet lost 7/20.
Darley should have won but I think Dewar and it looked like the captain dropped crucial catches.
I have never seen a more despondent team than Darley after the game.

It's actually good to see Coronet and Darley win a few games.

Not sure what the BCA have done to make association competitive. If it wasnt for the three washouts, the race for the finals would be down to the last four or five.

But having said that ....what a huge three weeks we have in front of us ...Im sure Telstra will be happy as phone calls fly between clubs for updates.

I'm sure theres a few more surprises left in this season too .... cant wait !!!

Who is Matt Cape? Has hardly played a game all season for Darley. Granted that he has been in QLD, but Darley would be disappointed with his commitment this season.

For my two bobs worth..finals race as follows....

Team Pts
Mt Clear 64
East Ballarat 57
Golden Point 48
Wendouree 39
Ballarat Redan 39
Naps/Sebast 39

This is as of this week..will probably change with some results after round 10.

Absolutely, if any team can do it they are it. That would make for a VERY interesting next few rounds.

I'll play devil's advocate here, would Mt. Clear "control" a result or two to finish top but play a team in 4th come semi time to advantage themselves in any way? Not for a minute saying that they would but I have been known to be wrong on occasions...............many as my wife would tell you.

not sure that throwing this weeks game would be wise for the mounties. if there is 1 team that would scare the daylights out of them in the finals, its wendouree. beating wendouree this week just about ends their season, which im sure appeals to mt clear more than them sneaking into 4th spot & having to face them in a semi final.

I'd better clarify my comments. By "control" I didn't mean throw. As someone said yesterday East are a big chance of taking top spot if the Mounties drop one with a potential outright against North. It may come down to percentage in the end and a few wickets and runs here and there might make the difference.
I will say that even for their own sake a loss might not be bad thing for the mounties leading up to finals, round 12 would be nice actually. They were heavy favourites for the flag last year and after week one of the final seemed a little too cocky and it cost them. I'm saying this with the utmost respect for the Mounties, they like to be front runners, when the pressure is really on they go into their shell and don't play the natural game that makes them the best side in the comp. I don't know what the feeling is around the team but a loss in the coming weeks might bring them down a peg.

Mount Clear are an excellent side when they are on song and everything is going well and there isn't a lot of pressure on them.

However their stroke playing batsmen (eg: Fletcher, George and Nicholson) do seem to struggle when pressure is placed on them.

The pressure may mount in the finals if Blake gets hit around a bit as you would think he would be a little underdone with a lack of match conditioning.

The fourth spot will probably be won by the team that can secure an outright win as each of Wendouree, Ballarat/Redan and Naps play sides like Darley, Coronet City, Nth Ballarat and Brown Hill twice.

For what its worth I think Ballarat/Redan will take fourth place (although I think Wendouree is a far better side) as they have enough bowling power to win outright over Brown Hill and Nth Ballarat while they should cause Mount Clear some serious problems in Round 12 (a few bad memories might resurface for the Mounties...)

It's not really that competitive.

You have two teams well on top (Mt Clear and East), four middle sides (G.Point, B'rat/Redan, Naps and Wendouree) and four very poor sides with no depth (Darley, Brown Hill, Coronet and Nth Ballarat). The bottom four sides only win games against themselves (with the odd exception).

Well whilst those four "very poor" teams do lack depth. Most of the bottom teams have 2 or 3 good players that could win their team the game on any given day. I think this year the bottom teams have been a lot more competitive and there have been less outright wins by the higher teams.

C'mon Josh, lets move on and let them be.

Do you have an opinion on the makeup of the top 4 like we've all been talking about the last few days? I reckon if you continue your form the Pointies will end up 3rd. Dunno about Swardsy batting so high, what the hell is the go there?
