Re: City of Moorabbin Cricket Association 09/10

Burg's surely your yanking the chain thinking you can enter your tips today mate, Old Merl looks like he is going to run a tight ship when it comes to the tipping comp so i am pretty sure he won't except your tips as it will make a mockery of the whole set up if he lets off one bloke who can't be bothered getting his tips in.
All i can say is BAD LUCK.:D

Re: City of Moorabbin Cricket Association 09/10

what a busy day of activity where do i start,

Southern Sledge

The brilliant sunshine I was referring to was in the afternoon as the kids usually play through the rain as the are not as wimpy as the older blokes. Most games I passed in the morning were playing even in light drizzle.I was just making the point that the turf muppets may have been a bit hasty in calling off the games given the drying power of the sun!

Clocker maybe able to help unearth scores for you as I couldn't even find a fixture on the MJFWS despite spending a bit of time looking. They kept telling me the executive look at BCF regularly so they maybe able to help and respond.

Bottsy,

I am not sure if you said it but Bri Union are able to declare in the Bluff Rd Cup as they had the batsman there ready to bat, but it seems couldn't be bothered to come out.

However in Longy the MJFWS reports the player was absent so the Longy team should be all out as he wasn't present when it was his turn to bat.The BBQ's who won't be aqua blues for some time should have been more assertive in both matters.

Maybe a please explain to Barrack or the BBQ adviser could sort out the problem?

PDog

Given your week of inebriation Merl is happy to accept your late tips.

Burger,

You need to get your priorities right.By the look of your tips you haven't seen the scores even though they managed to make the Sunday papers which you probably haven't read either.

Merl is happy to accept your tips without penalty.

Your wisdomness is nearly as appealing as the vino sipping poster as a moniker and I wish you good luck on your quest to unravel the mystery that is Merlot.

Archie,

Did try to track you down for our boundary side frothy but had not luck as I cruised around several hotspots in the Beemer.Didn't take the family away for the weekend did you?

until next time................. vino sipping poster..... Merlot

Re: City of Moorabbin Cricket Association 09/10

Brett,

As previously advised Merl makes up the rules of the Babylon tipping contest as he goes.

As the chief financier, benefactor, administrator, trophy provider, ordinary tippster, etc etc of the said Babylon tipping contest I have accepted Burger's tips.He is probably still drunk now.He did offer to take a penalty, which I duly considered but a quote from my latin days 'serebus paribus' ( Uncle is the spelling correct ) means 'all things being equal ' he has escaped penalty.

Maybe I just need a list of mobile numbers to sms or ring reminder calls for those not as focussed as you.

Let's all remember the BTC is just like the BCF a bit of fun for all and if you end up in the same inebriated position I would hope Merl would show you the same compassion, as he has just shown to both PDog and Burger. Also it maybe in your best interests if Burger wins the BTC you and he may just find out the mystery that is Merlot!

until next time ......... your wisdomness signing off................ Merlot

Re: City of Moorabbin Cricket Association 09/10

Would have had no issue with Burgers late tips until his last 2 tips in Wooly where the underdogs are in good shape but knowing of The Burgs impeccable integrity I reckon he can be taken at his word.

Weekly highlights updated on MJF, Sledger, I have no idea where junior results are on website so have included the scores I have at the bottom of the weekly highlights.

We had Steve Allen who is normally very efficient. It is baffling. You would've have thought Union should have told Steve there was still a ball to be bowled to maybe get a couple of more runs.

Botswana, sounds like their magoos declared at 9/ and their ones were all out at 9/

Or did they? I suppose it's a pointless exercise after the fact, but hypothetically speaking, what would have happened if Union lost their 9th wicket more than 4 overs out from the close of play? They would've been forced to declare or the 11th player would have batted. Seems Bottsy should've taken his wickets a bit sooner to find the answer to this percentage conundrum.

Merlot,
I will travelling overseas for the next three weeks so. Here are my Round 4 tips, using the old Nostradamus pot for inspiration.

I believe a new Nostradamus quatraint has been discovered by researchers:

From the enslaved populace, songs, chants and demands, the juggernaut has been overthrown.
Alas the beast has been tempered, not conquered. Premature exhaltation is soon replaced by howls of fear as the juggernaut returns with a vengence not previously seen.Conflict at the Oasis, King George and a pestilence in Brighton.

Round 4 Selections.

West Bentleigh
Elwood
Washington Park
Brighton Union
East Sandringham

Good luck to all.:D

thanks for the back handed compliment old chap!! honestly no idea of scores, how could I, they are still not on the results site...

Will you re-appearing at Pagey's Calcutta in a few weeks Mr M??
was a good night last year, even though I still can't remember half the night thanks to getting in a shout with you..ha,ha!!

Re: City of Moorabbin Cricket Association 09/10

Burger

My good friend ( another hint ) Jimmy has certainly given you a good wrap in sticking up for you, but you need to learn how to check the scores as Barrack,Condelezza,Hiliary et al have all got their collective Congressness together and produced scores after 3 weeks of trying.

Uncle Mick, Bottsy,

Surely there was some discussion on the fall of the 9th wicket when any relational person could come to the obvious conclusion. But if we believe clockernostradamus maybe there is more to it than meets the eye as I did not see GG listed in either Longy or Bluff Rd cup teams.

Clocker,

Good luck for a safe and successful trip is it business or pleasure?
You could always put your tips in when you return! Just joking!

Not sure about all this nostradamus stuff as the Jelly noughts are not exactly back as yet although they have managed to rout the ommies on occassions but young Barney may have a big score in him for his 300th with a bit of help from slim Tim?We can only hope.

Trouble at the oasis, King George and one of the Brightons. We await with baited breath for more to reveal itself.

Re: City of Moorabbin Cricket Association 09/10

I've been waiting for a cmca v turf muppett score update!!

I'm playing vtca instead of cmca this year & so far i have missed 2 days of cricket and players 8 overs of pointless cricket after the result was decided!!! Ahh the joys of 'real cricket' hehe...

Merlot there could only be 10 father son combo's so the clue is a generous one. How far has your son progressed?

Shame Pdog shame...

The way I have been tipping I would still get them wrong. Leaving tonight, primarily for business and a little R&R.You have misread the quatraint. Not suggesting there is trouble, Nostradamus is saying there will be;or is he??? and there is only one Brighton, the hoops, the other mob are a proxy.

Re: City of Moorabbin Cricket Association 09/10

Trying to get the post count up, Clocker?

Merl - I too noticed the glaring omission of the GG, however surely he would now be rendered useless to both sides as they have both already batted. Shall we expect to see him in help chase down ANA's 6/306 in D grade?

Re: City of Moorabbin Cricket Association 09/10

Hey does anyone know what is goin on down at omega? what ive heard is there is a bit of trouble down there. I've had first hand word that young gun quick chris clement is disgruntled with the club and is thinking of spending the rest of the season on the sideline before finding a new club next year. West bentleigh president chris kelly already waving the checkbook at him.

Re: City of Moorabbin Cricket Association 09/10

Good effort in trying to stir the pot SS.

Clemo won't be going anywhere, he just celebrated his 100th game down at Bricker, and has become a leader down there as he leads the youngest bowling attack in Longmuir.

Re: City of Moorabbin Cricket Association 09/10

we'll only time will tell. I'm extremly certain we will find clemo at another club next year. Its just too bad for him that he left it too late this year. Could be a definite superstar at a top club

Re: City of Moorabbin Cricket Association 09/10

Stick to your footy forums SS.

There's more chance of you getting a game in the Bentleigh 1's than there is of Clemo ever leaving Omega.
