Re: City of Moorabbin Cricket Association 09/10

Happy New Year All,

Merl has been in a good paddock and has had a decent posting spell apart answering brudes what he had already read on the MJFWS.

Sugar and The Judge I once again very much enjoyed the 3 part pre Christmas youtube and thought the judge did a good job in highlighting the missed catch which the aqua has still not agreed with.

Barrack's tribunal have again shown their inconsistency with a huge penalty and it was nice to see my old mate Army back on the forum after a decent spell to give us a bit of insight into it.Was there there an aqua blue involved or did the executive members club bring about the charge?

PDOg couldn't quite work out which of the dog park teams you played for after trawling the my cricket sites as most of the players I looked at didn't fit the single digit runs and having not played much.Maybe I will need Saul's assistance to work it out?

Merl's not really into this team of the year stuff as the team of the year are the ones who get to the big dance in march and take off the prize.

Clocker

cannot see any funds changing hands for the judges harmless comments as all Barrack use to do was ring Cedric and tell him he wasn't happy.Anyway the Judge and Sugar are providing a forum to keep CMCA viewers entertained and up to date.

Jimmy

You finally won Tattslotto and got the MJFWS up to date. How did it happen and why did it take so long?

Any news on the junior rep teams have they started and how are they going?

until next time................. vino sipping poster............... Prof Merlot

Merl,

Yes there was an umpire and i note that he has be dropped from D grade to F grade this week so clearly it has brought attention to the fact that he is a rubbish umpire (not that you can expect Simon Taufel to rock up in D grade).

In respect to consistency, far be it for me to stick up for the establishment BUT the player concerned hardly plays anymore and is only called up when we are short on numbers and he wasn’t interested in playing anymore and therefore did nothing to help his cause (including getting fair dinkum stuck into the umpire during the hearing).

All that being said in my opinion the umpire concerned is hopeless and personally i would rather not have an umpire at all than have him.

Also someone asked earlier about the skipper not getting suspended. This was another example of the umpire incompetency, he reported the player but didn’t complete the process of reporting the skipper and in fact the tribunal told the skipper that had the umpire reported him, he would have in fact been suspended?!?!?!?

Hmmm a clue to the mystery of the Pdog...i'm not sure he wants to give himself up so i better make it tricky! He has a famous name at our club, maybe the most famous....

thank goodness for that cool change..

Former Vampire, now Tunner if my spies are correct. Perhaps a few at Cluden can shed some light on this?

Re: City of Moorabbin Cricket Association 09/10

Jimmy,

Unless the Spiders were running late and and showed up fifteen minutes before the game started, they would have known that the ground was going to be hard to score upon, assuming they got out there and warmed up. To win the toss and elect to bat was a poor decision by their brains trust. It seems to me you are trying to give them another excuse. 82 runs from a minimum of 342 deliveries is a disgrace.

The flat track bullies stuck to the script and put the hapless Sharks to the sword. Two years ago the Sharks chased down a 300+ score against the Hoops after being 1/0.They just fell short last season by one wicket.Who knows the Sharks may lift and manage to pull off a crucial win. Unlikely, but weirder things have happened.

The established firm of Manning & Manning came to the rescue of the Golf club and they have given the Machine a reasonable total too chase. What may have been had the elder statesman shown a little more self discipline last season and been available to play in the early games.More pressure on Buddha to perform as Clarkey is absent on leave whilst Roids only managed to bowl five overs.Mackie have a few kids playing and if they happen to lose a few quick wickets then a little bit of panic may set in.

The Ommies did a great job to keep West Bentleigh to 8/226, in extremely trying conditions. This is a potential upset assuming they can get off to a good start, however West Bentleigh are experts at drying up the runs.Should be a ripper.

Bentleigh ANA are still on holidays or you would think so judging by the way some of their batsmen have performed.Only some discipline batting from young Morrison, and two wickets has given them a sniff.

The Juggernaut just continue on their merry way and just brushed Elwood aside down at the beach.Nearly unbackable at the moment.

Alas for Highett West, the season is almost over as Moorabbin West should easily get the remaining 120 runs required pretty quickly. The middle order has a lot too answer for.

The Real Deal have a game on their hands chasing 224.They have stumbled on lesser scores, but they could really do themselves a favour and end Uniting's season, otherwise they may find themselves looking over their shoulder later on in the season.

The Hoops were just devastating and the Central bowlers had a long hard day in the field. Gaynor, Kuzma & the Champ are just reminding a few of the flat trackers in the firsts that they are still around. But is anyone listening????? Me thinks it is a closed shop down at Hurly. Any thoughts Archie???

I will be passing out the hat around in the next few weeks to try and get a truss for Paul Dixon at Hampton United. He has really carried this team this season and once again another lone hand. Maybe a few others will stand up.Just another day in the Park for Mr Cruwys.Game will be over by 3.00pm so don't bother with the tea.

A dour struggle early on this game with not many runs. The Blues have done well to reach 206 and it should an interesting encounter however the Blues will get over the line as they have too much to lose.

The lads at East of the Sandringham are doing their best to win the wooden spoon. Asp-Edi will be very happy with their eventual total and will be feeling very confident about defending the score.Game on.

No excuses for them Clock, should have done better but you needed to see conditions, fully laced square cuts not reaching the fieldsman at point etc. Should have adapted to conditions quicker and "taken it on" though. It will be nearly as slow this week but 120-130 would have been a par score. Fair call on decision to bat, would have taken 30 seconds to work out conditions not good for batting and always easier chasing in those situations. Agree the West/Omega will be a cracker with The Brick running a bit more like a normal oval these days. ANA had a shocker on a 300+ deck against an honest attack, Jugs warming up, Woods with the job ahead of them in the last 3 rounds, Sharks no chance, but Golfers could be although Mackie ground is great and providing good value for shots, will need a special from the newbies.

Clocker - You need to be "ticked" off for wrong info. Manning senior served his penance during last season's finals. Both Mannings missed first 3 games on o/s holiday!

OB,
I was under the impression he received 3 matches which would have made him ineligible for Round 1.Unfortunately this information was once again deemed to be on a need to know basis. If Manning & Manning were on holidays then I stand corrected, however what could have been had both been available and who knows, still might be.

Great win by Ommies has put West Bentleigh in peril, might need to win all 3 and even then could conveivably miss out. Elwood are out of the race with their poor %, can Golfers sneak a win against Elwood, Le Page or ANA, Sharks look to be struggling to post another W with West/UTG/ESBC to play. Again % could be factor WP 0.654, KH 0.467.
Any other statistical catagories need to weighed in Clock?

Gone very quiet boys, where's The Big M? On sick leave or concerned that he was close to exposure with a few looking for him!!

The golfers just need that win then they can start to worry about the rest. The remaining matches are winnable if they can get a descent score on the board. A superb win by the Ommies and have now stamped themselves as the dark horses.Ferguson now has an average of 95 thanks to the red ink, and doing a brilliant job down the order.Prepared to make the call now that West Bentleigh will miss out on the finals as they have to defeat the Juggernaut in their run home and hope that Omega slips up. Woolnough is quite interesting and ladder becoming quite log jammed with potential final aspirants. The 'real deal' have two difficult matches coming up, and two losses could see them without a chair when the music stops.
