Re: CMCA- Ommies to remain in top grade

Sugar,
The new scribe I see..What happened to Mark "Homer Simpson" Misssen??
Is he busy doing Duff beer adds?

I am thinking of starting a book on how many times ANA grab the headlines, 1 week down for 1 heading.. I hardly think a score of 60 deserves such a spread, hope he doesn't make a ton.. will have to get the real estate adds to pull their 15 pages to fit it all in..;)
Suprised you didn't give your sponsors a plug?????

Odds for ANA headlines (under the new scribe)
1 week 'write your own ticket
2 weeks 100-1
3-4 weeks 10-1
5-6 weeks 8-1
6-7 weeks 5-1
8+ weeks 2.75

Re: CMCA- Ommies to remain in top grade

My write-up was just a once off Burger... Missen will be back next week. You're right in that 60 isn't exactly record breaking, but a positive debut was the highlight of a game in which I could put in the most input.

As for the ANA headlines, I don't think we'll be as discussed as much as in the past, which was thanks to the publicity machine in Gary Scott. However, mabe like Collingwood... we simply sell papers.

It's a shame the Leader newspaper is free then! ;)

Cmca nerd,

Just own up who you are, your not doing yourself and your club any favours at all.
Ps. Cameron White would have to be the luckiest cricketer in the world, last week he was training for Victria and now he is in the test side.
I wonder what Bea Casson has done to be dumped not that he is much better, and Dan Cullen was a prospect and now he battles for SA

Re: CMCA- Ommies to remain in top grade

Ernst, seriously.... ignore your little mate Davison and the rodent will go away.

Sugar - thought ANA were worthy of the headline scoring 330, but Matty's 60 wasn't worth the bold font - say g'day to him for me. Please don't compare your club with Collingwood. They may not be the most liked club in the CMCA, but they're far from a powerhouse club.

Re: CMCA- Ommies to remain in top grade

I think my comments in regards to the headlines during the week have been made clear.

As for the Collingwood comment, what's a powerhouse club? East Sandy surely can't be linked, as they have won too many flags.

We do have a similar Longmuir premiership record in the past 30-40 years (being 1), not to mention plenty of runners up titles in the history of the comp. Financially and membership wise we would be one of the strongest in the competition, so I guess the comparisons are closer than what you think.

There are even posters out there titled 'ANA Hater'. In summmary, you either love us or hate us. It's a fact but there's no need to be jealous about it.

Re: CMCA- Ommies to remain in top grade

Turn it up! I'm surprised your hand was off your cock long enough for you to type that crap. I'm not buying into the bullshit either. I harbour no ill-feeling toward your club, but hardly think they're worthy of comparisons to a club like Collingwood. My experience has me believing East Sandy are more the love 'em or hate 'em club. Even with my best mates playing there I hated that place until I did the unthinkable and jumped on their bandwagon last season. Sufficed to say my opinion of the place has changed significantly.

Sug,
Settle down young fella, i agree with Uncle Mick, you are getting far too ahead of yourself, just concentrate on the relevant issues, those would be, getting the points this week and trying to get the ''As'' into the finals this season.
You don't need to be the new Scott, we all know you do a great job within the club, i still believe you to be a player first, administrator second.

Uncle Mick, you sound like a sensible person, your comments about trying the East Sandy version for one season is spot on as you are the only one that can comment about what sort of club they are within their club. Others do not know, they only assess their opinions after they have been playing against them for so long and watching their success year in year out.
Most opposition love to hate consistant winners.:

Re: CMCA- Ommies to remain in top grade

In the end it doesn't really matter what people think... everyone will support their own club.

If you got beyond your bias, and read my first statement to justify things, East Sandy would not be a comparison, as they have won plenty of flags... unlike Collingwood.

It's a really irrelevant topic to have a truckload of responses to, so I think it should just end here.

Re: CMCA- Ommies to remain in top grade

I don't think it ends, there is still some life and fun to be had into this conversation.
Like if you are the Collingwood of the CMCA which player would you represent, maybe a Chris Bryan.
A battler who tries hard but always seems to be on the fringe, Mikkleson would be Leon Davis.
Lots of talent early days in patches but know is an exciting player to watch.

I welcome any more suggestions.

Re: CMCA- Ommies to remain in top grade

Just out of interest for those who might have something to say, tomorrow we are playing a one day match due to been washed out last week.
It is a requirement that all sides are to wear a one day coloured shirt in club colours, and a 4 piece white ball to be used.
Should the CMCA look at doing the same, i like the sound of it as it

Yeah it looks like we just cant say anything about esbcc without thsome thspathstic idiot going off and having a good old teary.

I heard that the ferels at the zoo had only 4 players from the 07/08 GF side playing against United. I was just wondering who the 'new' 7 players were? I guess 2 of them were Joey and Cheeks so who were the other 5 to jump aboard the bandwagon ???

Also wondering if anyone can help out with where the match scores are, the site where they used to be seems to be closed ??

And yes nerd that was sort of what i was saying. Just rock on down to the zoo for a nice easy flag or two.

You still a bit pissed off that the boys from the zoo beat you spastics in ANOTHER GF last year?

As for the other 4 players (Only had 10 on the day), 1 played a few in the ones last year and kept in the 2's most of the year, another captained the 3rds last year, another played in the 3rds with his mate, and i don't actually know who the other player was.
How'd you boys go? 140ish???

Re: CMCA- Ommies to remain in top grade

the other one was wally bennett, who had personal issues last year so he was playing in the 2s. has been at the club for close to 20 years id say and has won numerous 1s batting avgs.. hardly a ring in.
in fact i cant really find anyone in that team who has come from another club in the cmca or hasnt played at least 5 years there. i dont think u can really justify anyone jumping on a bandwagon.. u r just trying to stir people, which can be fun.. good luck to u.
anyway other clubs have ppl who have come from elsewhere.. but like the two blues, they just aint any good so no1 notices them!

well brett u certainly put an end to that conversation. no brett, lets not suggest what afl players we would be in the cmca.. how bout that for an idea.. maybe we should call u the cmca nerd?
and no.. no1 is interested in the fascinating debate that u raised which has been raging ever since about the coloured shirts and other equally homosexual ideas about cricket

Re: CMCA- Ommies to remain in top grade

Michael Flahive has to be the Buddy Franklin of the CMCA. The excitement machine with a mouth watering left side. Sometimes unpredictable but always ends up getting the job done. Pretty similar with the ladies i hear....

And what about Kim Pitt as Robert Harvey. Two old pricks that should've given it up years ago. Need i say more....

Perhaps Gorra can be Tony Lockett. The big powerhouse who'll make a very memorable return, for all the wrong reasons.

Mikkleson has to be Matthew Lloyd. Both nerds, and the way Mik slides his bat into the crease reminds me too much of that Essendon poof and his addiction with throwing that grass in the air.

Sorry what did you say before CMCA nerd about no one cares about my AFL theme of players from CMCA.
You really backed up your remarks?
By the way do you normally do a U TURN to the right or to the left.

Re: CMCA- Ommies to remain in top grade

I hear east sandy have got 2-3 players to come back into there side, is this true? after beating uniting quite easily it would be hard to go past them if they still have players to come back??? can union play finals with no bowling line up after weekend?
